  1. Shouta was the one who suggested Birla, IIRC, because it's an actual Indian surname. Which sounds good enough for me, so I've been using Birla ever since.
  2. You might end up being surprised...I think the latest couple of episodes has made Alto "notice" her in a pretty big way... And I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm really beginning to wonder...maybe Luca likes Nanase...?
  3. You missed the special episode??? It ran between regular episodes ten and eleven...
  4. If it's got a song as great as "Angel Voice" accompanying it, sure.
  5. "Stay away from my panties, Mister! Looking is free, but touching's gonna cost you!"
  6. Maybe after Basara left, the Zolans released their inner beauty men and shed their pouches...?
  7. Plus, it says that he has Zolan blood...which is impossible. Zolans and Humans can't mate.
  8. ...Not to mention that it took the Megaroad-01 only four years to disappear close the Galactic Center, but after seven years of traveling, the Macross 7 is still nowhere near the Center...
  9. It's possible...I'm not really sure WHAT they want, except that it seems to involve Ranka. Both your and Kronnang Dunn's ideas are interesting, but I think I'll just sit back and WAFO.
  10. Anyone with good taste has an interest in Nanase!
  11. *Whew* For a moment there I thought we had another "Anima Spiritia! It's all about Anima Spiritia!" thread...and I just couldn't bear the thought of it. Anyway, I don't think she was speaking so literally. The Vajra seem drawn to Ranka, but not because she's hateful.
  12. Do any of the names on the credits seem familiar? At least one of the creators is a Macrossworlder...
  13. I appreciate it, too...just not on the screen. Animeigo made liner notes for their release of Urusei Yatsura (and Otaku no Video, and Macross...), and that seemed just fine. Plus, sometimes the information is wrong...Shinsen Subs put a useless note in Frontier episode 3 (or was it 2?) that the song playing in Ozma's car was "Dynamite Explosion," when actually it was "Totsugeki Loveheart." C'mon! If you're going to tell me something I already know, and which is given in the end credits anyway, at least get the information RIGHT!
  14. Actually...way back in one of the early episodes, I was worried that Nanase was going to "get it." I wasn't the nanase fan then that I am now, and my main thought was, "Don't kill her...she's cute!" Luckily, she was only looking up at a destroyed bridge. These days, I'm not so worried about her well-being...I think she'll make it through fine. Of course, I've been wrong before...
  15. Clean your mind, my friend...this is Super Dimension Fortress Macross, not Super Dimension Legend Rall!
  16. I think Ranka and Brera are actually Rei and Kaworu, rescued from their reality when everybody turned into LCL. And Dr. mao got possessed by Yui Ikari. Ritsuko planted the seeds decades before when she visited this world under the name "Aries Turner."
  17. Definitely a possibility. Won't they be upset when they find out!
  18. I think jenius was just suggesting that Luca's parents are...how should I say it?...not exactly looking out for Luca's best interests if they want a big war with the Vajra, since he would be right there on the front lines.
  19. I doubt Luca's the evil genius, but I do think he'll have some kind of conflict of loyalties coming up becfore long... I resent that.
  20. I don't think you can POSITIVELY say it's Max, though...It could be. It also might be Hikaru. There's enough of a time lag between Hikaru shouting "Kakizaki!" and the crossing scene that it could be either of them. In the abscence of any other references, as dreamweaver13 said, I think we're going to just have to shrug and stay puzzled. Anyway, with the girls, I always thought that Ranka was WAY more interested in Alto than he was in her...but that definitely changed after the latest episode...
  21. But they didn't see Grace or the Dimension Eater, right? AFAIK, they're as clueless about what happened as anybody else. Brera's appearance there is suspicious, but they can't say much beyond, "Well, that magenta fighter was there, so it all seems kind of fishy..." Leon could probably put the pieces together, but would he do anything about it?
  22. Thanks for the link, eagelarcher! Very interesting... I have to disagree with one thing, though...I don't mind the use of "-san," "-chan," "-kun," "-sama" and the like if the show is set in Japan. I wouldn't mind, for example, if they used the honorifics in the parts of Escaflowne set on earth. Once they get to Gaia, though, they should be dropped. Needless to say, for something like Macross, they have no place, since it's unclear if any of the characters (besides Ranka) are meant to be speaking Japanese. Karaoke song-titles seem to do little more than slow subbers down. I thought Manga Ent. had the right idea with Macross Plus: translate "Voices" (as regular subtitles), and leave the Sharon songs alone, since they weren't even in Japanese. Cultural and informational notes should be left in text files, as the guy suggests...with the Deculture Edition, did we really need to be told that "Fold Sickness" is like motion sickness with a space fold...? At best, it's interesting but not essential. At worst, it's insulting ("Dammit, I'm a big Macross fan...I know what a fold is, thank you very much"). Even Central Anime's otherwise great subs for Macross 7 are marred by the use of so many different colors, each with a different meaning that has to be puzzled out by the viewer...it's a distraction, and an unnecessary one. Do you we really need to font color to tell us that someone is speaking over a radio and not in person? So yes, I think subs should be as invisible as possible. Save the flashy stuff AMVs or something.
  23. But...but...I like Super Dimension Centuries! (Not so keen on Super Dimension Cavalries, however...) Other than that, yeah, I agree with Master Dex. Planet with Zentradi gets toasted. Vajra fold from there to Frontier and attack Frontier. Whether it's logical or not, everyone on Frontier's going to think they know who's responsible...
