  1. I didn't see a whole lot of positive stuff about Frontier on your forum...but maybe I just can't get past all the "the VF-25 is ugly" posts...
  2. That's IT! E-mail this to Big West immediately so they can include it in the Macross Chronicle!
  3. Well...my computer REALLY doesn't like h.264, so it's unlikely that I'll get to see your subs anytime soon...sorry. I will go out on a limb, though, and say that the definitive Macross F subs won't start coming out until the series is finished, or at least after the DVDs begin to come out. And Nyan Fro is here. I finally threw up my hands and sent it to one of my Japanese friends to have her check it for any obvious mistakes, but she's been busy so it's taking a while.
  4. Oh. Wait, really? All this time, I've been saying that Neon Genesis Macross Wing 0083: Heavy Metal Soldier is my favorite Macross series. Is that wrong somehow?
  5. If they do, I'll be highly disappointed. Hell, if they set up a Big West Legal Fund to help demolish HG, I'd contribute.
  6. Well...it depends on what you mean by "merchandise." There are WAY more Mac7 CDs than SDFM CDs out there...on the other hand, I desperately want Hasegawa to make Sound Force models, but that seems about as likely as a VF-1 Gerwalk from them. I don't think it's really split anyone...some of the members here are not too keen on the series, but I don't think I've heard more than one come out and openly say that they hate the show...and I can only think of one who has said that he refuses to watch it. But maybe they just don't want to start a flame war... Speaking of flame wars, I wonder what Agent One thinks of the show? It was called Zeta Gundam and it was AWESOME!!!
  7. But are the Fold Faults in our reality, or are they in "Fold Space"...? And would it be the same as, for example, Cowboy Bebop's gates...? EDIT: Wait a second...What do you mean, "where the Protoculture had their civilization"? Where DIDN'T they have civilization?
  8. I think Cain was right. He was a total bastard, but he was right. I have to say I have no interest in Macross story with someone else voicing Hikaru (unless they get Tony Oliver to do the lines in Japanese ). And I think a Megaroad-01 story would carry even more baggage than Macross Zero did...not that SK couldn't pull it off, but think about how touchy many here have been about Frontier, and multiply that by twelve...
  9. I have to say that I think time dilation is one of those things of which Macross stories have taken heed only when they need to. IIRC, episode 11 of SDFM was the only time they mentioned the time dilation effect...and it didn't seem to be a factor on the journey back to the Macross. City 7 folds all over the place, and time dilation is never mentioned. Isamu and Guld's jaunt to earth is certainly presented as almost instantaneous. I think that, when planning Frontier, they realized this and decided to set a few rules in stone. Me, I'd like to know how it took the Megaroad-01 four years to travel to the Galactic Center, but seven years into its voyage, Macross 7 STILL hasn't reached it yet...
  10. Yep...I spent late February to early April in a six-week Macross watching kinda/sorta marathon (three episodes or one movie per day), and almost HALF of that time was devoted to Macross 7 and its sequels... I guess we can hope they make a second season to MacF, but I'm not holding my breath...
  11. Or maybe more than one...
  12. It DOES kind of feel a little like all the post-Space War I Macross stories are like satellites orbitting around a big empty space, but I've kind of grown to like it like that. And given that Kawamori has said he won't do it, Mari Iijima lives here in L.A., and Arihiro Hase is dead, it seems unlikely, to say the least. And here's a thought I'll just throw out there: maybe nothing important or dramatic happened to them. Or maybe it was as stupid as them flying into a black hole...*envisions Macross version of "Godzilla vs. Bambi."*
  13. I've said it before, I'll say it again: riding on a moody 14-year-old bassist's shoulder ain't the sweet ride some would make it out to be. Either I end up squished under her arm when we're in bed, or she decides it's "bath time," and I end up swallowing about a gallon of dirty Mylene bath water. And you don't even WANT to know how long it takes for her to drop a load...and my only Gyararashi-box in in the bathroom! But THEN, if I poop on the floor (which is HER FAULT for taking so damn long in the first place), she starts hitting me with a newspaper! And the "Galaxy Sport" is HEAVY, dammit! *whew* Sorry for going on so long, but hey, you asked.
  14. No, she's armor parts. The big, bulky, Space War I kind.
  15. Duh. Someone that eats remations. Is this, like, a trick question or something...?
  16. Bah, he's nowhere NEAR as good as the guy in the green-trimmed flight suit in Brown Squadron in the original SDFM, or that one guy in the white VF-11 in Mac7... How easily people forget...
  17. Poor, poor Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah... I did as well and relaized that if I joined I would be tearing my freakin' hair out over the n00bishness in the "Southern Macrosspeada" (terrible name!) forum. But hey, it's better than this one, on which at least 90% of the members not only hate Ranka, but Frontier in general and the VF-25 in particular.
  18. It started here, and we just kind of ran with it over the next few pages...
  19. I think episode 5 was the last of the "All-Out Homage" episodes...your tally may vary.
  20. It was a pretty inept love traingle all around...Basara had, as you state, higher aspirations than your average rock star would, Gamlin would probably rather throw himself off a building than actually kiss a girl, and Mylene was too young to what she wanted and too naive to do anything with it had she known.
  21. Well, it's certainly been working on ME! I no longer play "spot-the-reference" as I did with the earlier episodes (my favorite remains Sheryl's "Atashi to ishouja, iya?" from "Star Date") and I noticed myself rather elegantly getting drawn into the plot and characters of Frontier in and of themselves, rather than for who they represented. It no longer matters to me that the President's daughter looks like Misa or that the dude with the glasses flies a blue Valk, they matter to me now because, well...they're Kathy and Michael.
  22. Your prank meter is not working very well, my friend...
  23. Tell that to Gigil, Physica, and Captain Kinryu!
  24. I totally want to put that in my sig...
  25. Renato.
