Hey, there's a lot to Macrossworld besides tech stuff...but I still think it's best that the engineers stay out of the character and plot discussion threads, and the English majors (like me) stay out of the mecha threads... So, um, scoot back to your part of the website, and talk about hardpoints and reactive armor and 45-degree angled control sticks and whatever else it is that you guys talk about there. Meanwhile, we'll stay here and talk about how Alto is learning to relate to people better and why the Vajra Queen was trying to communicate with Ranka. Pausing occasionally for Uranus jokes and speculations on whether homosexuality makes one an unfit battleship pilot, of course...

Hmmmm...instead MisaForsaken, I think LoliForever would be the most appropriate name for you...

I'm currently doing a "halfway point" MF marathon, and I may pull another "Complete Macross Marathon" when the series is done.

That's WHY I'm doing them! I found a summary of Macross Generation, but other than that, I couldn't find any information about them at all...I'm pretty much done with "Miss D.J." and about halfway through "Macross Love," and I'm on to "Distantly Fading Memories" next. I'm especially looking forward to "Macross Classic" and "Macross 7 Trash."

I remember being surprised by that when I first watched R***tech. From the beginning, I noticed similarites to Star Blazers, so I figured it would be a long, long journey. Thus, I was a little disappointed that they reached Earth so quickly. However, Hikaru and Minmay were wandering around in the hold for quite a while...I'm sure they were sad to have missed seeing Uranus, which is big and gassy. (YES! I finally made a "Uranus" joke on Macrossworld!)

Well...Macross 7's VF-11 did get that very hero-esque transformation sequence that got overused in the latter half of the series. You know what REALLY got no love? The Frontier tanks. Driving one of those? Now THAT's a pathetic job...

Sorry, sorry...couldn't resist. IIRC, Haikaru didn't get "good" with a battroid until after episode 6. So, really, all Sheryl needs is a training montage, and she'll be fine. But if the real enemy is Galaxy, as others have suggested, does that mean she would hesitate when pulling the trigger (because it's her home), or just pull it faster (because she hates it there)?

I'm on the fence about this...on the one hand, having a "hero" mecha seems more Gundam-ish than Macross, but on the other hand, what makes more sense for survival: a better Valk, or the same Valk as everybody else but with a custom paint job? Seriously, the best way to survive the original Macross series is to paint your Valk white, blue, or red...

Because, of course, every homosexual man is always completely nellie, and there are ABSOLUTELY no gays in the military, sports, or any other "manly" profession, right? And perhaps the writers are deliberately TRYING to mess with your expectations by having him pilot the Macross Quarter...? Maybe...?

If Ranka is part Vajra (and I'm not prepared to defintively say she is, yet), and the Vajra are alien, then Ranka is looking a lot like Mylene, the "Symbol of Peace." But kind of a Symobl of Peace who has come to early, and was created unnaturally. But if the Vajra are created by humanity, then yes, your theory is quite plausible, the biggest difference being that the Protoculture only created seven EVIL, and even that small number was too many. But the Vajra are also much weaker than the EVIL (although they definitely LOOK scarier ). And if a full-sized Zentradi stepped on Brera, they might be able to kill him...so the Protoculture weapons are still stronger, but yes, they could be of the same type. But if that's the case, I really can't see Froniter having a happy ending.

Good point, but I doubt it will be as simple as more fleets. Still, Grace promised Leon that he would see the "true terror of the Vajra," and I don't think episode 14 qualifies...

Unseen? Well, kind of. But we already know all about how they started, so there's not much mystery or drama there.
