  1. Bi-MONTHLY? No, no, no...dig a little deeper in those pockets, my friend...it's bi-WEEKLY.
  2. No, no...I understood. But it seemed like you were treating it as a hypothetical...IF Macroswworld had been around then, and we were doing the same thing we were doing with Frontier, what would it have been like? And other things involving difficult grammatrical constructions that are hard to explain to ESL students. Savoring Seven...is an interesting idea. The first time I watched it, I kind of rushed through it, since I had heard it got good towards the end, and I was trying to get to that part. (It also didn't help that I was watching it raw...I never saw it all properly fansubbed for quite a while.) But I generally like the kind of story where little clues and hints are given in the early episodes, that are baffling until you reach the later ones (like Frontier...I especially liked Sheryl's admonition to Alto not to put the pictures of her breasts on the internet, which made no sense...until two episodes later, when we find out about the implants). And Mac7 just ain't that kind of story. I ended up liking it a lot, but it's not really the kind of series I like to savor...
  3. Kinokuniya for me as well. I ordered the first issue, but I really hope they'll just carry the magazine...the L.A. store doesn't seem to be big on Frontier, though... And cripes, I already get Gundam Ace every month...I really DON'T need another magazine to collect, but I really can't say no, either.
  4. I hear ya on that last one...I've read so many wacky theories here that people have been posting about Frontier that I worried that one of them will turn out to be right, and it'll feel like the ending was spoiled. There's something to be said for quietly watching a series and absorbing it by oneself. About the story arcs...one thing I like about all three Macross TV series is that the arcs are all roughly 9~14 episodes long, in every series. It's just that SDFM had three acts, Mac7 had four...and it makes me kind of sad to think that Frontier only has two (can we all agree that episode 14 ended the first arc? Or do most people think it ended the second?).
  5. We Macrossworlders are an effcient bunch, aren't we? Ask for an image, and three years later, you'll get it...
  6. They've ALWAYS been slower than the others...they fell way behind for a while, but then caught up during the "extra week" between 10 and 11...they'll get there, eventually.
  7. ...which is weird, because the OST 1 liner notes claim that someone captured Ranka's "Guerilla Live" and Sheryl took the recording and added to it...
  8. His Dark Materials is a great series, and I highly recommend it. But I think most of the best fantasy was written BEFORE Tolkien, like Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast books, E.R. Eddison's Worm Ourobouros and Zimiamvia books, the works of Lord Dunsany, and the works of James Branch Cabell (who is pretty obscure and definitely not for everyone, but is one of my all-time favorite authors). If you want something a little more modern, Stephen R. Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant are flat-out excellent, although a little too dark and angst-ridden for some. Currently, I'm reading Clark Ashton Smith's Zothique stories, and they're great. Search around on Amazon for the unfortunately-named "Ballantine Adult Fanatsy" series...they're all out of print, but most are pretty easy to find, and you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them.
  9. Not to quibble, but I would hardly call the last few minutes of FB2012 an "arc."
  10. Yeah, I was getting serious "Mayor Milia, here are the complaints from the citizens" vibes... At least we kinda/sorta understand Grace now...her intelligence is elsewhere. I wonder if she can only run one body at a time, or are we going to get a Grace armada by the end?
  11. I think it says that there's not a lot to say until the subs come out and we hear ALL the juicy little bits of info we missed in the raw.
  12. I voted positive, but mostly because of the . And I agree with Taksraven that it really felt like
  13. Thanks, but again...I'd have to be Keitai-kun. I just can't seem to get away from being a pet for some moody teenage girl...
  14. Who says? I had a friend in high school who pretended he was gay in order to get girls, and it worked pretty well...
  15. Given the amount of space and words the WTF-1 took up, can you imagine what it would've been like if Macrossworld had been around in 1995? Someone would be saying that Gamlin was stil alive, a lot of us would point out that there was no ejection seen and the VF-17 blew up too quickly for him to escape, and Agent One would be saying that all of us were gay for even caring...on and on for at least thirty pages...
  16. I wouldn't mind...he gets to hang out with all the hot chicks, and he looks FAB-u-lous!
  17. Dude. Quit hustling my chick.
  18. Kakizaki's in Macross Frontier? Where? Unless...oh man...he's Grace, isn't he? :o
  19. HEY EVERYBODY! Hikari o mezase! Odorouze! DANCIN' ON THE PLANET DANCE!
  20. *sigh* You want everything spelled out for you, huh? It's "kira." And then a star.
  21. It starts here and develops over the next few pages. You're welcome.
  22. Isn't it the キラ☆ pose...?
  23. Wait wait wait... You're telling me that that WAS Physica's wife...? I thought that Gamlin THOUGHT it was, but as he approached them, realized that it was someone else's wife and kids, and ran away...
  24. You might want to watch episode 13 before you post things like this.
