  1. Either that, or a convenient space whale would come along and absorb the dimension eater. Yeah, watch episode 8 again...it's got Hikaru's NUMBER, too. At that time, we speculated that it might be the actual DYRL movie prop.
  2. Man...triple cliffhanger...President Glass, Ranka/Alto/Sheryl, and the hatching Vajra... "Triangler," indeed...
  3. Are you sure that she's not talking about about a lot of the people here...?
  4. Alto's a doujin artist...?
  5. Yeah, I dunno. As I said, I watched half of the series or so on the old Robotech Perfect Collection tapes, and although I thought it was better than Robotech Masters, I still wasn't terribly enthralled with it. One of these days, I'll get around to watching the whole thing, but it's not high on my list of priorities right now...
  6. I've only watched about half of the original Southern Cross, and that was years and years ago (remember the Robotech Perfect Collection? Yep, that's how I saw it), but the biggest difference is glaringly obvious right from the get-go...Southern Cross doesn't even happen on earth! Oh, and you get to see Jeanne's (Dana's) butt. Big whoop.
  7. I think you're right on all counts. Damn, I just had a big Macross marathon in February and March...looks like I'll have to do it again soon. Darn.
  8. If there are, I haven't found them, unfortunately. And I'm unwilling to buy the album just for the comic. Well, maybe if I find it used somewhere, but I won't pay more than ¥300 for it.
  9. Notw THAT'S damning with faint praise...
  10. But...but...Gamlin was only 17, and the whole thing was set up by Millia, anyway.
  11. Akiko was already managing Fire Bomber when she brought in Honey to produce the "Planet Dance" single...but, as someone else pointed out, he became the Jamming Birds' manager. But wait...if Marj wasn't Sharon's manager, who was? Myung was officially her "producer," and Reymond was her owner...did anyone manage her...? (Clearly not, based on how things turned out, huh?)
  12. It was Rori. Which is odd, since I thought that, during the show, she was interested in Warera...
  13. *looks at the poll* Who would vote for Akiko? She cared about Fire Bomber, got them some good connections, and did a lot of work on their behalf. Sure, some of her ideas didn't pan out (Basara and Alice Holiday duet...?), but she didn't get drunk all the time, she didn't try to enslave humanity, she didn't release and Dimension Eater, and she didn't try to kill Basara. So what's so bad about Akiko?
  14. I checked her Japanese Wikipedia entry...and "Heart and Soul" isn't listed among her CD credits. That's not definitive, of course, but it seems a strong possibility that the singer is someone else.
  15. Astral projection, of course! Duh.
  16. Apparently, according to the comic that came with English Fire, Kaifun ended up on the Macross 11 Fleet and became Fire Bomber American's manager.
  17. Whoa...Keitai-kun is the evil genius behind everything, isn't he?
  18. "Oh kettle, thou art black!" sayeth the pot.
  19. Damn. I forgot about that crime against humanity. I wanna change my vote.
  20. By your definition then, Marj was a pretty good manager, too...and hey, no one can doubt that he was just in it for the money...he truly BELIEVED in Sharon! (Too bad he also seemed to believe that Sharon could catch his fall...) And...correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Honey a producer...?
  21. No, no...you misunderstand. I was wondering if the title of "BOMBA!" was a good or bad thing. Personally, I'm eager for you to reach 7500 posts, so we can all see what title comes next.
  22. I was going to vote for Marj, but Grace has the higher body count...
  23. My hope is to do all the drama albums, and a few of the novellas as well. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have a deadline...February 7, 2009 (the date of the Macross's launch and the beginning of Space War I). I should be getting Macross Generation First Half in a week or so, which is the last piece missing from my Macross drama album collection. And yeah...I was really looking forward to it (an entirely new Macross story about which there is absolutely no information in English? Count me in!), but after reading the synopsis...well...I just hope it doesn't take too long to translate. Likewise, I ordered "Mylene Beat" as well, and I sure hope it doesn't suck. I started learning it on my own at age 13, and got katakana down pat (and precious little else). Later, I studied it in school, but I'm still far from fluent. And I've spent some time in Japan, but not much.
  24. Not true. Look at "Myung" in Mac Plus, and although the guy's name is SUPPOSED to be "Jan," Manga Entertainment translated the YF-19's designer's name as "Yang." So it could indeed be Klan Klang, or Klang Klan, or Klang Klang. All of those versions look pretty stupid, however.
  25. Dude. I am so suing you for libel.
