  1. Hmmm...so does that mean you don't want to come to my Nicholas Roeg Film Festival...? EDIT: By the way, if you ever do feel like giving the film another chance, it makes A LOT more sense on the second viewing...
  2. It's because that's not Sheryl...it's the infamous Sheryl look-a-like, Eccentrica Gallumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon VI.
  3. Your next mission (should you choose to accept it): Try to figure out the relationship between the Escaflowne TV series and movie...
  4. So for issue 4, they're doing Guld and...Physica??? Their choice of secondary characters has been really random...but I hope they get around to profiling the Flower Girl.
  5. I got that impression, too...mostly because they describe it as a "Trendy Drama," i.e. a love story/soap opera. I doubt it would have been a mecha show....probably bad actors walking around the same sets over and over again, having arguments and sighing a lot.
  6. I dunno...I'm okay with the ambiguity. In fact, I kind of like it. But then, I liked the TV ending to Evangelion, too...so maybe I'm just weird.
  7. I don't know...it's just that idea occured to me a while back, and i keep trying to visualize (auralize...?) it, and yet...I just can't. So I want to actually HEAR it happen, because I can't imagine what it would sound like.
  8. My only problem with using that quote is that he said that in the late '80s, well before they decided to make DYRL a movie-within-the-series. As such, I'm not sure it's still valid. Not that any of the designers or animators pay attention to it, of course...
  9. I hope you're wrong here... In the Nyan Fro liner notes, it says that the trendy drama about Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay not only has "Triangler" as its theme song, that's also the show's title. I think it was an in-joke, not an indication of future plans. Similarly, for the Chronicle: DYRL is separated from the other series (and so is MacII), being absent from the Timeline, Technology, and Worldguide sections. The Macross is clearly listed as the DYRL version, but the first Timeline sheet shows the TV version. Likewise, they have the VF-1J, which was only seen for a split-second in DYRL (and not at all in Max, Millia, or Cannon Fodder colors), and the section on Minmay is strictly TV-Version-Only. If they do have plans to retcon the TV series into "Triangler," I'll be plenty annoyed.
  10. I'd say they need to come out with a VF-1 Gerwalk first... But yes...those look awesome... *drool*
  11. Then stop talking about it and DON'T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THAT MONITOR!
  12. Very true. But the movies that get pulled are rarely this high-profile...usually those make it out some way or other.
  13. "ARRGH! I've been Ranka'd!!!"
  14. As I recently mentioned elsewhere, I'm worried that the next episode has a Japanese title...only two original SDFM episodes had titles in Japanese, "Love Drifts Away" and "Farewell to Tenderness." Something big is happening this week, I'll wager...
  15. Maybe. I'm going off to sulk in the corner now. Hold my calls.
  16. You know...I just just thought of something. I bet that there IS an alternate universe where Warera, Rori, and Konda attacked on a different night...we know it as...THE MACROSS II UNIVERSE!!!
  17. That IS good...I'm shocked.
  18. Point well taken. If they were all in top form that evening, I wonder what would've happened...?
  19. Enh, they'll probably show a Megaroad-class ship at the end of the penultimate episode, and then the preview will state that the final episode will be called "The Return of Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay." And then we'll find out that it's actually the Megaroad-27, named "The Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay."
  20. Yeah...but he was distracted at the time, so it doesn't count.
  21. Good lord, man...
  22. I say yes. Prepare a three-point counterargument and meet me back here in fifteen minutes.
  23. I got nervous when I saw that the title for episode 21 is (partially, at least) in Japanese...the original SDFM only used Japanese titles when the sh*t really hit the fan, the fan hit the wall, and the helicopter hit the gas tanker. With that in mind...I'd like the final episode to be called, "Ai - Oboeteimasuka." But you're probably right about it being "Aimo."
  24. Some of them are just about half-English anyway...well, half-Engrish, at any rate... . I don't care $How much fake But what does it meeeeaaaannnnn???
