I like Shinsen a lot, but did anyone else dislike the fact that when the Zentradi speak Zentradi-Language WITHOUT Japanese subtitles, Shinsen STILL put English subs there? Or am I just being too nitpicky...?

Yeah...I did. I assumed that it was some kind of powerful jamming wave emitted from the pics of the Vajra planet...

Again, I view her leaving the ship at the end of 21 as her attempt to take matters into her own hands and stop the war herself...but I dunno. Perhaps I'm giving her too much credit. Again, I assume we'll find out in a few hours...

Well...I wouldn't call her the runt; they weren't born at the same time, after all. She's just the youngest (that we know of... ). But I stand by my former statement...unless Mylene Beat sheds some light on this, there just isn't enough information to do much more than guess at to what was programmed into the EVIL Series bodies. Although I got the impression during the show that the reaction to Sivil was due to some kind of hardwired Zentradi racial memory...kind of like the way dogs still turn in circles to tamp down the grass before lying down, even dogs that have lived in the house their whole lives. I think that was mentioned in the show, but I honestly can't remember if it was or not. Dammit, where's Keith when we need him...?

Hmmm...if he were really a girl, then he might have a better chance with Nanase... I think that maybe his life is in a certain amount of danger, because his loyalties are being tested. It all depends on which way he goes... I'm still assuming the majority of the cast will make it through, though.

When Sivil was walking through the city, they were definitely getting more aggressive...crashing their cars into each other, trying to take Millia hostage... Exsedol, however, was simply terrified. But then, he was the only one who actually remembered what the Protodeviln were. RedWolf's idea is interesting, but I'm not sure there's enough information given in the show to either back it up or refute it.

The best advice I can give on Mac7 is, "Be patient." All but the most ferocious Mac7 fans would agree that she show gets off to a slow start. But it gains power as it goes along (it still remains pretty goofy throughout, though). And don't expect many spectacular mecha scenes.

FIXED! ('cause you might as well remember the guy's triumphs, rather than than the "Crap! How am I going to afford the heating bill on my indoor pool" roles...) And...um...I thought he was dead. Really.

But were the Zentradi reacting to the EVIL Series bodies, or to the Protodeviln housed in them...? I skimmed the Mylene Beat comic recently, and while I understood the main thrust of the story, a lot of the technical details eluded me (so far...I didn't bother to pull out my dictionary, as I was really just checking to see if it's worth the trouble to translate...and it is), but it seemed like Colonel Barton and Sazapi (Mylene's would-be producer/lesbian rapist) were growing an EVIL series creature on board the Macross 7...so maybe there are some answers contained in the story (doesn't really seem like it, though...).

Have you been watching the show with subtitles...? The V-Virus has been well-known for quite a while now...

Hmmm...I haven't seen the Robotech version since 1985 or thereabouts...I may have to youtube it. Back at that time, I figured that Roy and Kakizaki were both voice by the same actor in the original Japanese version, and that he had wanted to quit...which forced the creators to kill off both of the characters. I was completely wrong, of course, but I still am rather proud of my youthful theorizing ability. And even in Macross, I thought his death was rather horrible. Whereas DYRL almost played it as a joke...

Um, yeah...I wrote the "Don't feed the trolls" line. I also, a few posts earlier, wrote this: Which I hope refutes your interpretation of my "troll" comment pretty neatly. I have no problem with people who dislike Ranka. But the ones who say that commenters who like Ranka need rehab, or who resort to personal attacks instead of reasoned argument...they are trolls. (Of course, I also said that anyone who voted negative on episode 20 was either stupid or an a**hole, so I guess I can't throw stones... )

Again...I don't think so. She knows she can communicate with the Vajra, and that the Vajra Queen tried to communicate with her in ep. 14. So I'm pretty sure she's planning to try to reason with them and end the war completely. Which is not selfish, or childish, or irresponsible. (But is, as you say, impulsive.) We'll find out on Thursday which of us is right, I guess. If I'm wrong, I'll get you some Nyan Nyan tuna buns.

Did you see the bout that I had with a couple of them in the Miss Macross Frontier Part III thread recently? They kept pointing to a post in "That Animeblog" as proof that Ranka sucked. I finally got around to reading that post, and...well, it was some dude's opinion. If that's the best they can do, then yes...they have no real facts on their side. Well, I could've mentioned it...but who believes anything printed in the Galaxy Sport? Well...the story about Gamlin and Basara being lovers is credible, I suppose...

Well...about Mylene, people also called her the new incarnation of Minmay. And what made Fire Bomber hit the big time? Mylene singing "My Boyfriend's a Pilot" in The Lynn Minmay Story. Hell, Mylene even recorded an entire ALBUM of Minmay songs! (I know, I know...it wasn't in the show.) So just because she knows she wants Alto, that means she has no identity of her own? I don't get it.
