  1. I'm sure this doesn't affect many of you, but I stopped in at L.A. Kinokuniya to pick up the Chronicle, and found issue Four waiting for me...but issue Three still hasn't arrived. After a bit of checking to make sure that it was on its way, one of the women working there said, "I've been hearing a lot of problems about this magazine." When I asked what she meant, she replied that there seem to have been some shopping problems, some issues arriving late, others early, and so on. So, just a heads up for anyone getting it through them: there are still a few bugs in the system.
  2. Ditto. Unfortunately, I feel like I have to check this thread occasionally for news info on merchandise, events, and the like, so I'm glad that everyone is putting spoiler tags over the stuff that I really don't want to read. I've completely stopped reading the plot speculation thread, however.
  3. Really? Never having played the game or investigated the mecha, I didn't know that... Damn, that thing must be frickin' HUGE!
  4. I'm somewhat worried for the li'l scamp, too. It all depends on who he ends up siding with...
  5. But...would Quamzin allow himself to be micronized...? But yeah...why isn't he on anyone's list? He's clearly a great pilot. And...nice pics. I like DD's and Nora's especially.
  6. Considering that this entire website is devoted to a show most of us saw when we were just little tykes, your argument makes me uneasy... But yes, I think you either go with the (as one of my friends pithily put it) "absurd red Valkyrie," or you don't. Trying to figure out exactly how the guitar stick works is relatively profitless. But it is slightly more profitable than trying to figure out how Basara flew the VT-1C in D7 with a REAL guitar... And Basara...love 'im or hate 'im, at least he's not the most unpopular Macross character (that would be Kaifun, I'm sure).
  7. Unfortunately, HOPING that this movie will be good will do absolutely nothing to ensure that it actually WILL be good... I'd much rather look at it disdainfully, and then be pleasantly surprised if it turns out okay.
  8. Should Raramia really still be included on the poll? It's unlikely that she's going to show up in the last five episodes... If I were, would I have included the second part of my post...?
  9. But she's hot and sexy...and wishing death by main cannons for hot, sexy people usually means that they dumped you for some millionaire race-car-driving fashion photographer.
  10. The impression I got from episode 15 is that the Galaxy Anonymous people are more or less controlling her. If they're all gathered in the same place, hit that, and she's gone. Far more interesting, I think, would be if Grace's puppeteers were spread all over the galaxy...but we'd need more than three episodes to take care of THAT threat...
  11. Gosh, really? And here I thought you were one of Ranka's biggest fans! But really...could ANYONE be more predictable than you...? Um...um... I plead the fifth.
  12. No, of course not. I mean, she got blown up by a Dimension Eater and was back the very next episode. Destroying her body does nothing.
  13. Hmm. I do think that Zentradi should be left untranslated into English if there is no corresponding Japanese translation. It may cause double takes and momentary confusion, but I think that's okay. Incidentally, I have the same problem with the DYRL subs floating around...especially during the Max and Millia fight scene. But it's a relatively minor thing, overall. Now if EVERY episode of Frontier featured the Zentradi language, I might get angry about it...
  14. Don't forget, she's also a FAST Pack.
  15. Yeah...I think we really need an '80s Movies You Are Outwardly Ashamed but Secretly Proud You Watched thread.
  16. I dunno...but that's what happened. (And you may be able to look them up...I'm not sure if the MacZero episode discussions are on this board, or on the old one.) Some people thought it would be the Macross. Some thought that Hikaru would show up (and, to be fair, there was a glitch at the official MacZero website that made that seem like a distinct possibility). Others figured the VF-1 would be rolled out for the final episode and pwn everyobdy else. Still others said that since it's a PREQUEL, the story MUST tie in to SDFM at some point. None of this was promised or even hinted at by Kawamori. But still, many people here worked out the ending that they wanted to see, half-convinced themselves that that's what would happen, and felt cheated when it didn't. I foresee something similar happening with the end of Frontier if we're not careful... There may be no Birdman. There may be no Protoculture (ruins or otherwise). There may be no Shin or Sara. And I'm almost positive there will be no announcement of "season 2." And I'm SURE there will be no last-minute appearance by the Megaroad-01. Expecting any of these things could be detrimental to one's enjoyment of the series finale. Just sayin'.
  17. ...and we were doing so well for a while there.
  18. While I certainly HOPE we'll get some answers regarding Shin, Sara, and the Bird Human (not to mention the Protoculture, the Supervision Army, the whereabouts of Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay, who finally ended up with Mylene, what exactly the Zolans are, where the SDF-1's fold drive disappeared to, and what the EXACT definition of "deculture" is), I'm not holding my breath... Remember when members here more or less convinced themselves that the Macross would HAVE to turn up at the of MacZero...and then were disappointed when it didn't? I think if you don't expect Frontier to be the be-all, end-all grand climax of all things Macross, you'll like the last episode better.
  19. They were posted at the tail end of the News Thread III, and (I believe) in the MacrossF Bugs thread.
  20. Oh, on degress of subtlety, I think Guld and Myung is the LEAST ambiguous...only slightly less ambiguous than Isamu and Lucy, or Max and Millia. This one...well, it didn't even register to methat there might possibly be any real hanky-panky going on. For one thing, I don't think they had enough time...unless Alto's a real "sixty-second man." And dammit, I'm getting sucked into this idiotic conversation! *take deep breaths* *repeat the mantra...* VAJRA HOME PLANET, VAJRA HOME PLANET, VAJRA HOME PLANET... There. That's better.
  21. The most glaring one, to me, was in the opening, when Ogotai says "Yack Deculture." The Japanese subtitle also says "Yack Deculture." The Shinsen subtitle says, "What a terrifying prospect." The joke is completely translated out of existance. But yes, I'm glad they're back...
  22. Well...Tomino wrote his "Kill 'Em All" stuff when he was suffering from serious depression...now that he's pulled out of it, he's writing happier stuff. So I guess that by the final episode we'll know if Kawamori is going through a mid-life crisis or something... I dunno. I'm really not expecting a Zeta Gundam/Zambot 3 style finale...but I could be wrong.
  23. That's an awfully polite way of putting it...batsh*t insane is how I'd say it (not that that's necessarily a bad thing, mind you...) Me, I think that both Shinsei Industries and General Galaxy knew what they were doing when they hired their respective pilots, so I assume that both Isamu and Guld were on relatively equal footing...and that both were truly first class pilots.
  24. Alto is a gentleman. And gentlemen never tell...
