  1. Yeah, we already heard it. It's here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=684554
  2. *sings "Try Again" at VFTF1 until he regains his sanity*
  3. The eldritch crawling chaos that known to men as "Hello! Project" claims another victim!
  4. I'm TRYING to be based in Tokyo, but there's the whole Catch-22 of "You need a work visa to get a job, but you need a job to get a work visa" problem...and times are not so good for English teachers there right now. Still, I keep plugging away at it... The comic shop is Comics Factory in Pasadena, CA. Good place, even if you aren't looking for people who've seen Watchmen.
  5. Yeah...as I said elsewhere, I think the "Macross F Top 5" streak will end with those. Although I notice they're downplaying Bobby and playing up Ranka and Sheryl...so maybe enough people will be fooled.
  6. I stand by my first theory: that as the Zentradi became cultured, their ears got bigger ("the better to hear Minmay with, my dear). More culture = bigger ears.
  7. As far as I'm concerned, he's only made five or six TRULY essential albums...but they're so good that all the crap he's released matters not in the slightest. It feels weird to fend off attacks for some guy I talked to for three minutes max...but he said he saw two cuts, and two-and-a-half-hour cut and a three-hour cut. He said the three-hour was better. Look, I'll go back to the store on Saturday and get the skinny then. I could find it a bit insulting that everyone thinks I'm so gullible, but whatever.
  8. If you like Lazy Town, you'll LOVE this: Be scared. Be very a-scared.
  9. Well, I don't think they look bad at all...they just more like For The Barrel, Gundam Evolve ep. 15, Gundam Wing, and Dorvack than like anything from Robotech. In other words, they don't exactly get me excited to see the movie, but I don't think they're as awful as others are making them out to be. But since I'll never actually sit down and WATCH the movie, this thread is really just pointless voyeurism for me, so my opinion probably doesn't matter much either way...unless they want a blurb for their website. "GUBABA from MACROSSWORLD sez: 'The designs aren't atrocious!'"
  10. So you're a Sagittarius, huh? *goes off whistling a certain Sheryl song*
  11. Heaven forbid we have to wait for the 2018 release of some kind of "MACROSS F THE COMPLETE" box set to get the unreleased tracks...personally, I'm hoping for a BGM collection early next year...or as bonus tracks on the movie soundtrack. Remember that the version of "Rain" that ACTUALLY APPEARED in episode 5 of Cowboy Bebop didn't make it to CD until the movie soundtrack came out three years later... I love Nyan Tama dearly, but I would've preferred the Bobby songs and the Linn Minmé version of the Nyan Nyan CM instead of the karaoke tracks...
  12. As GGemini said, there's space for at least fifty issues on the website, but that can always change. Lookat it this way: Macross is much longer than Evangelion, and the Eva magazine ran for thirty issues. On the other hand, Macross is much shorter than Gundam, and the Gundam magazine ran for 150 issues. So somewhere between 30 and 150 is your current answer. Fifty seems a little short to me...there's A LOT of material to cover.
  13. No, I'm not going to visit your crappy DVD-pushing website. Your ploy has failed.

  14. Actually, I'm glad. If it had Nanase stuff, I might have to consider buying it. As it is, I can just marvel without temptation.
  15. Stop talking about Nanase like that!
  16. If she came with FAST packs, I'd be so there.
  17. I'm listening to Nyan Tama right now.
  18. Meh. As far as nutjobs go, he's no Doug Bendo. I don't know about you, but I think I'll have to look elsewhere to find a REAL trainwreck of human folly.
  19. dreamweaver13 populars with various darling friends. He is "always" exciting to meet you! By the way, is it just me, or we suddenly need to add a bunch of new songs to this poll? It seems a little out-of-date now...
  20. The full-length DYRL is a bit of all right, innit? EDIT: Oh, and in case anyone's wondering about the title... The character used for "Nyan" means girl(s). So we have: Nyan Fro - The Girls of Frontier Nyan Tra - "Nyan Nyan" Soundtrack, or Nyaundtrack. Nyan Tama - Girls' Fiery Souls ["Tamashii"]
  21. Possibly. He seemed well-known to the staff, so I guess I can ask them what his deal is. *shrug* Either way, I'm just glad they're using Dylan on the soundtrack (although I think "Desolation Row" would be better than "Times." After all, it gave the first issue its title). But then, I'm a big, big Dylan fan, and Watchmen is what got me into him, so of course I'd say that.
  22. No doubt. But still, to act like it's some kind of mystery is a little silly.
  23. You mean Japanese, don't you? (Not tryin' to derail the thread, just sayin'). I was a little disappointed to see that the liner notes weren't the "in-universe" style of the other OSTs. I'm still on my first listen, so I haven't heard much of the previously unreleased stuff (I'm currently listening to "Seikan Hikou"), but I like how they plopped "Atashi no uta o kiKE!" and "Dakishimete...Ginga no hate made!" at the beginning of the girls' representative tracks. And, whoa..."My Boyfriend's a Pilot" just kicked in...boy, someone spent a few more hours in the studio on that one, didn't they? It certainly doesn't sound like Ranka singing karaoke over Mylene's version anymore. At least, not as much.
  24. He's only NOW discovering Macross? After all the hub-bub surrounding MacII, Mac Plus, and Frontier? And he thinks it's some kind of mystery??? Hell, even a quick jaunt to Robotech.com would've told him the truth... Someone get a tourniquet, Disgruntled Anime Fan is hemorrhaging credibility...
  25. There are only two versions of SDF Macross out there, the Animeigo and the AD Vision versions. If you want a dub, go for the ADV version...the dub cast isn't, on the whole, very good, but the Animeigo version is sub only, so ADV is your only choice. Neither of the versions feature the Japanese 2007 remaster, but Animeigo spent TONS of money restoring the footage, so it looks pretty spectacular. ADV uses the same footage, so either way, it'll LOOK great.
