  1. Yes, yes it should. So should marching around Akiba singing "Tostugeki Loveheart." (I saw a youtube video showing that about a year ago...unfortunately, I can't seem to find it now... )
  2. LAAAAAAAAAAAME. I say if you come dressed as a member of Fire Bomber, you should get automatic entrance into any event you want.
  3. Three guesses as to what happened to the Vajra planet two minutes after the ending of Frontier...
  4. Hmmm...that's strange. Maaya Sakamoto's new album opens with a vocal version of Frontier BGM, and it also has her (exquisite) version of "Blue Aether." And of course, it has "Triangler" on it. So it's not what you would call an album saturated in Frontier, but the links are there. By the way, I'm listening to "May'n Street" right now, and it's pretty damn good so far. I'm only on track three, but so far it sounds like a nice blend of the R&B sound of her earlier singles with the pop/rock/disco Sheryl sound.
  5. Well OF COURSE it is...she had three singles that went nowhere, but then her Macross stuff jumped into the top 5. I'd capitalize on it, too! (And those albums are being sold in Akihabara.) For me at least, while Yoko Kanno is the primary reason why Frontier's music is so good, May'n and Megumi Nakajima were excellent choices to do the singing, and the songs wouldn't be half as good without them. I mean, I like Maaya Sakamoto a lot, too, but I can't imagine "Iteza Gogo Kuji Don't Be Late" sung by her...May'n MAKES that song.
  6. Ooooh, and she's got a full album coming out in March...Cool.
  7. I liked Zero a lot, but I don't have the aversion to "environmental themes" that a lot of people here seem to. I think the flying rocks and insects moulting and camouflaged octopi pissed a lot of people off. Oh, and the ending being pretty weird. That bugged people, too. However, I think it's impossible to dislike the action scenes in it. It's, like, against the laws of physics or something. As for your comments about Mac7 and MacF...well, ALL Macross has music as a major plot point. I like 7, but I can see why it's a little much for some. Did you watch the WHOLE series, though? Often (but not always), people come away from the series liking it much more than they did going into it. At least in Frontier, pink beams didn't shoot out of Ranka's mouth when she sang at the Zentradi...the way it was presented, it wasn't much different than a Minmay-style culture shock. But if you are that averse to any reference to Mac7, you'll absolutely HATE the music in Frontier episode 17...
  8. Please. A lot of people disagreed with you, but no one said you had no right to dislike episode 12. You gave your opinion, other people gave theirs. Fair's fair, right?
  9. Yeah, most of us pulled though. But I don't think Duke Togo ever recovered...
  10. Not having a Blu-Ray player, I didn't know that. Never mind.
  11. That one's not complex or vague at all: "Black hole. Bye-bye." (And yes, I know that I'm perpetuating that bit of falsehood by repeating it, but I couldn't resist.) But someone should come up with a listed of the Frequently Asked Unanswerable Questions, like: * "What happened to Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay?" * "What happened to the Macross's Fold System?" * "What was really going on between Global and Misa?" * "Was Marj a clone of Max?" * "Aren't macronized Zentradi a waste of resources?" * "Which guy did Mylene choose?" * "Wouldn't being kissed by a Sharon Apple hologram be an incredibly unsatisfying experience?" * "Kaifun: A great douchebag, or THE GREATEST douchebag?" * "If Alto can't make up his mind, why doesn't he take each of the girls for a...um...'Test Drive'?"
  12. I think you could say the same about Zeta Gundam, though...all '80s cartoons designed primarily to sell robot toys lack a lot in terms of subtle touches and flourishes. If, however, Blu-Ray becomes successful enough to become the new standard, then probably everything will get rereleased. Much as when I was in high school, I only bought CDs of albums that I really, really knew I wanted, and cassettes for the stuff I didn't care about as much. But within a few years, cassettes were no longer readily available. The same thing might happen with DVD, in which case Blu-Ray becomes an inevitability. I'm not saying that will happen, of course...but it's a possibility.
  13. From what I can tell on amazon.co.jp, it looks like it's 4:3.
  14. ...which is strange because I thought the DVD itself only had two of those versions... And that's fine by me. The Deculture Edition has some better transitions, and better-placed music cues...but now that the Yack Deculture version is available, I see no reason to check out the broadcast version of episode one, unless you really, really need to hear "Aimo" one more time.
  15. Yeah, I don't think the RVF-25 has head lasers, but then, I didn't think Mylene's VF-11 had head lasers either. And oh yes, I'm sure there will be a B page, too. And C. And D. Possibly E as well. A lot depends on how much of the transformation process they want to show, and whether the Armored and Super Packs will have their own entry or not. At least the VF-25 doesn't have as many variant paintjobs as the VF-1, since everyone keeps the same fighter (or, in Alto's case, virtually identical fighters) throughout the series. Although that could change, depending on how radically they want to shake things up in the movie...
  16. Zeta Gundam has. I haven't seen it, though, so I can't comment on how it looks.
  17. It's the sound effect that goes with poses like this:
  18. Forgive them, they're spelling it wrong. It should be キラッ☆!
  19. Forgive them, they're spelling it wrong. It should be キラッ☆!
  20. Another thing to remember is that the UN is Macross is emphatically NOT the UN of the real world. But as for your example of how corrupt the Macross UN is...I'm not sure you can really call them corrupt for not letting the Macross return. Callous? Yes, but thedir rationale is easy to understand. Just like if there's a deadly epidemic, and you have a bunch of uninfected people quarantined, you're not going to let an infected person in, no matter how hungry or cold they are. The Macross was toxic at that point; of course the UN wouldn't let them land.
  21. The kid looks to much like a hipped-up Corey Feldman, but the robots look pretty great.
  22. Erm...why are are you watching Ideon Be Invoked if you haven't watched the series yet? That's like watching the End of Evangelion without seeing the show! And I guess I'm just not very observant...since I did watch Dynamite 7 well before I saw Frontier...and I still didn't figure out that Grace was the villainess until they started dropping hints like mad...
  23. Hmmm? Don't you mean you're watching Dynamite 7...?
  24. Oooh, deja vu! Oh Boo-frickin'-hoo. Some of had to wait any entire WEEK to find out what the WTF-1 was...and you can experience that week by reading the literary equivalent of all of us pulling out our hair HERE! Good times, good times...
