  1. Episode Four is now up! http://galaxynetwork.blogspot.com/2009/04/tuna-and-buns.html
  2. That would be the Italian pronunciation of the name, yes. If you look up anything about Dante's Divine Comedy in Japanese, I'm positive that's a name you'll come across often.
  3. DAMN, YOU'RE RIGHT! I thought it sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it...
  4. They actually SAID that? At the PREMIERE?? Wow, it's like they already knew TSC sucked, and they'd gone ahead and prepared lame answers...
  5. Yep. Of course, there ARE other avenues available...fansubs are probably the best. If you ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE them on DVD, you can always go for the Hong Kong or Malaysian bootlegs...but video, audio and sub quality varies widely. Some are nearly professional, others are garbled or just plain wrong.
  6. None of them are available legally with English subs.
  7. Hmmm...what did your friend think of 7?
  8. As I said, I've only seen the first two episodes, so that came in right at the end. I'm really just skimming this thread, trying to avoid spoilers, so I don't know WHAT to make of it yet...it's still not as horrifying as seeing the bones for that cute li'l "u-PI! u-PI!" thingy pop out of Spanky's mouth.
  9. I think my biggest claim to fame STILL is meeting Reba West at a Mari show. Although I'm not sure if that's good or bad... And I just checked Kadokawa's website...and there's still no news on Macross Ace #002. Bastards like to keep us waiting, I see...
  10. CRAP IN A HAT! IT'S MICKEY SCYMON!!!
  11. Yeah, I was rather shocked by that, too. Surprisingly, I've found time to almost keep up. I saw episode two a few days ago. I like it. It's funky, and totally unlike anything I've seen before. Which is why most of us got into anime in the first place, no?
  12. Have we been eagerly awaiting that? No one told me...I thought we were still supposed to be clamoring to find out what happened to the Megaroad...
  13. Ah, I too am never forget the great mathematician Lobechevsky. Thanks for that.
  14. No, from what little I've been able to glean from the chapters themselves, there's a new Neo-Zeon group fully fronted by a Char-lookalike named Full Frontal. Don't know much about him...people in the book seem to think he might be Char, but it's pretty clear he's not. I'm making it sound ridiculous, aren't I? Apparently, it's quite good. It starts in U.C. 0001, with a piece of technology that goes missing, then picks up in U.C. 0096. Not sure if Amuro and Char's fate(s) is/are referenced, but I kind of doubt it. They died in both versions of the novelization of CCA (Hi-Streamer and Beltorchika Children), so I always assumed that they both died in the movie, too. (Yeah, yeah, I know...Amuro already died in the MSG novels...that's a different story...)
  15. Not only did the Veritech Mining Robot have me slack-jawed with wonder and awe (and would our heroes escape its villainous clutches? My ass felt like it was Krazy Glued to my chair!) but the characters TOTALLY reminded me of Gerry Anderson...and isn't the true essence of Robotech to be found in Supercar?
  16. No...it says that Luca now goes into the hospital, and after Nanase wakes up, she meets his gaze. Me, I'm just glad she wakes up BEFORE the credits roll now. Umm...it says that Klang dies. Painfully. Leon hits her upside the head and her eyeballs pop out. Then for no reason, all her limbs fall off. Grace finally kills her with a stiletto heel to the brain.
  17. Everyone should've learned a lesson from Matchbox. They got out early and survived. Not sure if they ever made action figures again, though... Nah...if it had been that, the they would've taken something that was initially interesting and good, and made it uninteresting and, um, ungood.
  18. Damn, you're right. It's right there in my "Star Wars Knock-Offs" folder. Should've checked before I posted...
  19. Wait a sec...wasn't this thread about Hiroshi Ohnogi...? I'm nearing the end of finishing translating my first Ohnogi Macross story ("Fancy Days" in Dreaming Prelude~My Fair Minmay, and it's really a lot of fun. Although Minmay's kind of a bitch to some poor schmuck she goes on a date with. And then there's the scene with Minmay's friends stretching their mouths with their fingers, which at first I totally didn't understand...until I did. )
  20. YES!!!! Kawamori has listened to my prayers!!! (and to the five dozen emails I have sent to Satelite every hour on the hour since the show ended back in September...if you want to get all, y'know, literal about it an' stuff. )
  21. I think what was REALLY hilarious about it was that they apparently only made a minute-and-a-half of footage, and even THAT failed to be good or interesting. It's like Sentinels in miniature...
  22. Ya gotta hand it to them...not many people would look at the Death Star and think, "Y'know, if the earth had a shield made of people's brains, I bet it would look exactly like that!" Anyway, if we're going to talk about Star Wars rip-offs (and Turkish Star Wars is EASILY the worst of those), we have to mention Star Crash, Message from Space, the aforementioned Battle Beyond the Stars, and (my personal favorite) Escape from Galaxy Four. Seriously, check that one out. It seems totally kiddie, until that first sex scene...
  23. Too bad you didn't catch me a few years ago, when I was living next to campus... Sorry.
