The thing is, both MDE bombs will mess your world up pretty badly, while only one Choco Parfait Monster is dangerous... Very nearly done with the Ohnogi story now...I hope to finish it off tonight or tomorrow. Then on to Tomita's story, about the Miss Macross Contest itself. Thankfully, it seems to overlap with the show a lot, using the same dialogue, so I hope it won't take too long to translate it. I've broken up my novel translation goals into quarters for the next few years, so that by next April I should be done with all the SDFM and DYRL books, and on to Macross II.

I think this may be a non-starter (for me at least) since I'm not sure WHY the music from Macross 7 was deemed to be so expensive, or why other shows aren't...

Hmmm...I dunno. How close are Bandai and Victor? Victor has handled pretty much all the music in Macross (except for Macross Generation and the Macross 7 and SDFM Radio Dramas...those were put out by Polydor) since the beginning, including Frontier.

We're getting into strange chicken-and-egg questions with this...I suspect that the interview *MAY* have been fabricated (or at least tweaked) in order to diss Ranka and her fans. Obviously, I can't prove that...at least, not yet. You're absolutely right, I know. But I can only be insulted so many times ("You're on drugs. " "You don't understand adult relationships. " "You clearly won't listen to anyone else's viewpoints. " And this was the response to my trying to be NEUTRAL!) before I start to dislike the person insulting me. And then I want them to be unhappy with the outcome of the series just so they'll stop being obnoxious and just GO AWAY (which, as it turns out, is exactly what happened, minus a little bit of whining and crying and bitching and "Alto was saluting Sheryl ONLY" and "WORST ENDING EVER!" nonsense). *whew* Can you tell I'm still a mite annoyed by this?

Not only was it only relevant to M7, it was relevant to it fourteen years ago, when Fire Bomber CDs were still coming out. I would imagine that everything there is much cheaper now, but there are still a lot of people to pay. HOWEVER, I'd imagine that since Frontier is big right now, and since it has spawned a number of certified Top 5 hits (and not just on the Anime Charts, but the REGULAR Charts...y'know, the ones NORMAL PEOPLE listen to! ), that the music rights would probably be even more expensive.

Having just watch Episode 25, I'd have to agree. The visual quality was stunning. Also, for the theologically inclined, I noticed that the "Judah" system has now been changed to the rather more appropriate "Judas" system.

NEWS FLASH!! HG really does own all of Macross! I was working on subs for Episode 8, and look what I found: Well, that settles it, I guess. Let's just gather our stuff and go home...

As someone else said in a different thread, MacrossWorld shouldn't just be the refuge for people banned from RT.com. I thought that's what robotechx was for... I dunno...I'm all for humanitarian projects, but it seems like, even with the misinformation getting tossed around on RT.com, all the tools are there for fans to find out more on their own. Or maybe I'm just sick of posts like this one. Anyway, the way things are going, it looks likethe only people left there will be the "Rah! Rah! Robotech! Macross sucks!" people, and you won't be able to convert them anyway...

I wouldn't hold my breath, really... Look at May'n. Her concerts were in...what, January? And the DVD came out this month. Megumi's similarly-timed concert has a DVD coming out soon, as well. Now maybe if those sell REALLY well, we'll get the Macross F concerts.

Why do you want to change it? Let them get as totalitarian as they wanna be. The number of people who post will shrink, people will get fed up, and soon it'll just be the moderators talking to each other about how great Shadow Rising will be. Since that seems to be what they want, why not let them have it? It's not like there aren't other sites for RT fans to go to...

Sounds fine to me...last thing I want is a bunch of RT fans coming over here...we already have enough "MACROSS 7 IS GAY!!!!" threads without them, I think...

I can see that...like Mr. March, this was the first time I'd ever followed a series in this way (I kinda/sorta did it with MacZero here, but I had dial-up at that time and couldn't download any of the episodes, so I was going with HK bootlegs, which came out a few weeks after the episode's release. As such, I was already way behind the thread by the time I got the DVD). In a way, it was nice, because none of my friends in real life were following the series, so at least I could talk about with others, and in a lot of ways it did help build my enthusiasm. A lot of the overly negative people bugged me at the time, and a lot of the more "out-there" theories had me shaking my head (Remember when a few people were saying that they saw a human figure inside the Vajra that reawakened in Episode 5...?). But once the shipping wars spilled over into MW, I found myself wanting more and more to watch the series by myself. But I kept coming back, because I wanted to hear what people were saying, and share what I was thinking. All in all, it was interesting...but I'm not sure I'd want to go through it all again.

Well...they were kinda right... Anyway, I'm sure they're glad of the chance to thin out the ranks of the overcrowded and thronging Robotech forums, even if only a little.

Oh, I didn't know that. I never saw it, and just assumed it was something smaller. Doing a recall of a Masterpiece...wow, that's gotta be expensive... Did the other Alpha Fighter Masterpiece Editions have QC issues...? I mean, isn't the Shadow Fighter just an Alpha with a new paint job? I wonder what the problems with the Maia Type were...

Perhaps...except they're talking about the Masterpiece editions. The first guy says: To which the second guy replies: So he COULD be blaming it on the age of the models, not the country of origin. The reference to Transformers puzzles me, though, since those are also old models from Japan.

Not only that, but pretty much ALL piloted western robots are influenced by Japanese robots. It's like no one in America even thought of it until someone saw Mazinger or something and said, "Hey, look what they're doing! Can we do that?"

What I find most interesting isn't the blather of Kevin McKeever...it's the meek, obsequious tone of the other posters...I haven't seen all that much over there, but from what I have seen, it seems like a lot of the posters are afraid of offending HG in any way, spiced up with a few who get too aggro about the whole. Anyway, it reminds me of Oliver Twist..."Please, sir...I'd like some more." I also like how the last post on the thread blames the shoddiness of the toys on the fact that they're imports from Japan...Jeez, grab a clue, RT people... That struck me, too. "High Profile Franchise." And people BELIEVE this BS...?

I've been working on the subs for SDFM, and last week, I took a long stretch and did all of episode 7 and half of episode 8. Somewhere in there, Global said "50,000 civilians."
