Yeah, I've been mulling that idea over...I think it would be a nice "grand finale' when my Macross Translation problem finishes in about five or six years It depends on how burned out I am by then, though. Are you volunteering to help out...?

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

Glad you like 'em! -
Very cool! (It's nice to see Zero getting some appreciation...it really gets far too little.) I would quibble with one thing, though...there IS a song of destruction ("Horobi no Uta")...it's the operatic piece that Sara and the Bird Human are singing throughout the final episode. It's also on the second soundtrack, all nine minutes of it.

Considering that the founder of Studio Nue (and creator of Crusher Joe and Dirty Pair) is named Haruka Takachiho, I would think that "Takachihoff" would be the correct version...

My binder hasn't arrived either, and I ordered it weeks ago... As for Shirow, the man pissed me off severely when he casually mentioned in "Ballistics" that he wouldn't be finishing Appleseed. I wanted to scream, "Then stop painting pictures of naked girls in robots and FINISH YOUR DAMN STORY ALREADY!" Still, if it's got the Exon Depot stories, I might check it out.

Well...that blog entry of BoK is from 2004...maybe he's grown up a bit since then? But it's interesting that he tries to justify his racist comment to areaseven by saying that A7 was racist first... And I seriously doubt that FanPlus recently learned about Macross World...he's probably already a member here (and no, he's not me). But whoever he is, he clearly holds Robotech fans in real contempt. They'll ban him soon, if they have any wits at all. EDIT: After perusing BoK's blog a bit, I have to say that I think I love this entry the best: http://bankofkev.blog-city.com/see_mari_ii..._on_nov_1st.htm Not only does he misspell the name of the club, but there's a big picture of Mari (looking lovely, as Mari always does) with a huge "ROBOTECH.COM" logo plastered on on the lower corner, AND he says this: (Empahsis mine.) Hmmm...he seems to have left something out...

Y'know, I wrote about five different replies...but none of them were funny enough. And since we all know that cleverness and wit are the most important parts of any technological or scientific discussion, I guess you guys win.

Nah, I think the first is Hikaru beating the Angel Birds Valks. Second would be Hikaru crashing through the buildings, followed by Hikaru's battroid tumbling over, falling Minmay getting rescued, and on and on...

There might be...but I don't know if I'll be getting around to translating this page anytime soon. I will DEFINITELY do the VF-25S page (since I promised I would do it before; indeed, I've already started on it), but apart from that, "Dreaming Prelude~My Fair Minmay" is taking up all my translation time.

I only have the CBR file, as well, which is too small to read any kanji more complicated than six or seven strokes...but yeah, they give the 52 episode breakdown (very brief notes), the 48 episode breakdown (ditto), and the 39 episode breakdown (which is fuller). I can't quite tell what's going on in the first two, but the 39-Episode version has Max and Millia getting married in Episode 38, and the big battle in the final episode. After the big battle, it jumps forward fifteen years for I guess some kind of epilogue or something.

Welcome to Macrossworld! The line is: みんな、抱きしめて! 銀河の・・・果てまで! or, "Minna, dakishimeté! Ginga no...haté madé! (accents added to make pronunication clearer) As for the translation, well, I have yet to see an English version that doesn't sound odd. The first sentence has no object, so it could be "Everyone, hold me!" or possibly "Everyone, hold each other!" The second sentence is "Until the edge of the galaxy!" No matter how you look at it, it doesn't make much sense...

Man, you are fiercely determined to dislike this page, aren't you?
-
It reads fine in Japanese, so blame it on my literal translation.

Sheryl has shrugged off the military fetish gear, and has decided to become a cowgirl, I see...

Okay...I ust got the issue, and Seto, your cynicism seems unwarranted, at least partially. The VF-2SS page, yes, says 2090...but you've got to read the whole sentence: "The VF-2SS and the VF-2JA are the two main types of U.N. Spacy aircraft before and after 2090." The Sylvie Gena page says "2091," same as the People of the Mardook page. Oh, and the VF-2SS's gunpod is a railgun. No, the bit that makes me worry is the Technology Sheet...Sheet 01G? G?!? Will we get Sheets C through F at some other time, or is it a misprint?

God yes...I can see youtube getting flooded with vids of her saying "I'm Ranka Lee and I'm a whiny helpless moe traitor wanko!"

Welll...I remember seeing that quote well before they decided that DYRL was an in-universe movie, so I think the latter idea trumps the former. But yeah...it seems to fit the design choices of the sequels better... I dunno. My take on it has always been not to think about it too hard; it's all fiction, so why bother trying to figure out what "happened"?

As someone recently said, "BS runs a marathon"... Okay, I'll take you at your word that this isn't about Ryno, and it isn't about you. Who or what is it about, then? Most of us seem to think the mods are doing a good job, even falling on the side of leniency most of the time (unless it involves VFTF1 and Jennifer Aniston). What's the problem here?
-
I find watching it all in production order is more edifying (and more fun) than watching it all in chronological order...mostly because of the disconnect between Zero and SDFM. And then there are those idiots that say you should should watch FB2012 before DYRL, since FB2012 is, y'know, in 2012 and DYRL is 2031...which seems to me like a good way to spoil DYRL for yourself AND be completely confused by FB2012 at the same time...

1. First couple of minutes of SDF-Macross Episode 01 2. Zero 3. Rest of SDFM 4. (DYRL kinda fits in here) 5. FB2012 6. MacPlus 7. Mac7 eps. 1~38 (or 39, somewhere around there) 8. Mac7: The Galaxy Is Calling Me 9. Rest of Mac7, including Encore 10. Dynamite 7 11. Frontier And then zoom into a parallel universe for II. Oh, and play some video games in there somewhere. EDIT: DAMN YOU, DEX!

But...but...what about all those people who went to Klingon Language Camp SPECIFICALLY so that they could understand spoken Klingon in the movie without the tiresome burden of reading subtitles...? A fortune, pissed away..

It doesn't sound much different than Tori Amos's version from soon after the song initially came out. It's a little unoriginal, maybe, but I don't see what's so revolting about it.

Congratulations for being the first person ever to call Agent ONE "humble."

I think you're taking this too personally. But I understand >EXO<'s frustrations...he provided in excruciating deal just how many chances the moderating staff gave Ryno before they decided on a three-day ban, and why that three-day ban turned into a permaban. And many people (not just you) had the bright answer, "Give him another chance!" >EXO< laid it all out very plainly...I'm not sure why you're callling it BS. Anyway, it DOES seem pretty consistent. I've only really seen a couple of people here being banned, and both of them flaunted the rules time and again, and then acted like five-year-olds when the mods tried to get them back in line. I've never had any problems with any of the moderating staff (Well...Roy Focker's Robotech Love got a bit annoying...), although I was warned once about spamming. I took it to heart, and tried to be a little more careful after that. It's not such a big deal. And the mods here are pretty permissive over all. You don't bug them, they don't bug you. If they warn you that you breaking the rules, you stop. That's simple enough, isn't it?
