  1. Hmmm...I really liked episode 3, but then I also liked the "walk through the jungle" sequence in Macross Zero episode 4. I almost always enjoy it when a series I like takes a little bit of extra time to sit down, breathe, and relax for a little while.
  2. Yeah...when doing the translation for Macross the First, I couldn't figure out a good word for Misa to describe to Hikaru what he should do to turn the fighter into a Battroid. I think I ended up with "tilt the lever up."
  3. It's the last week of June. So we've got a little more waiting to do.
  4. I started writing a long response to this, but as of yet, we're still waiting for a scan of the Famitsu article supposedly quoted in the livejournal, so I'll hold off 'til then.
  5. Yeah, I notcied that. I was just checking amazon.co.jp earlier this evening, and still nothing...
  6. Does anyone have PROOF of this? Why is Ohnogi listed NOWHERE on the credits for the show? Why is he not mentioned in ANY of the books on Frontier? Why does everyone assume these Bobby/Ohnogi radio interviews are real when NO ONE has heard them?
  7. Eva 1.0 was the number one box-office champ in Japan for quite a few weeks. That doesn't sound like a dead horse to me. Are you asking me personally? Hmm...nostalgia or hope for a different ending. Are those my only choices? Could be possible that I just love Eva? I loved the TV series, I loved the movies, I loved Eva 1.0. As for where I came from, um, I was born in Santa Monica Hospital. Back to the Frontier movie, I really don't get the people complaining about how long we have to wait for the movie. Clearly they don't remember the six-month wait between episodes of Macross Zero...
  8. Oh. I thought the "Homo" in "Homotech" referred to the three original series being homogenized. Anyway, yeah...remind me never to share a link on this thread ever again.
  9. SERIOUSLY not my style. Now, about a year or so ago, I was an OBSEQUIOUS TOADY OF HARMONY GOLD for a little while, but it got old fast. Besides, I already have a youtube account. Classy, dude. REAL classy. What did you accomplish? I mean, BESIDES making Macross fans look like assh•les with no sense of humor?
  10. That's what makes it so funny (to me, anyway). Take out a good song, put in a crappy song... (I have to say, though, that seeing the rabid Macross fans shouting obscenities at the uploader kinda made me want to shout, "YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" at them. It also kinda made me wish they weren't Macross fans. Stupid people shouldn't like Macross, right? Right.)
  11. It's very, very different. No love triangle, no singing, and no transforming jets. It's a very good show, though.
  12. Crap, I didn't even look there. But the "VF-17 Type" section says it is a beam cannon, doesn't it? Or is there something I'm missing?
  13. Yep, that's the karaoke version. Available on Macross the Complete or the 25th Anniversary Box Set. If you liked the music for the series, I highly recommend Macross the Complete. If you've seen the sequels, and you like the opening and ending themes, get the 25th Anniversary set.
  14. Huh? That's just the promo clip. There's nothing Robotech about it. Now THIS, on the other hand...
  15. Once again, the Chronicle's grammar is tripping me up. It SEEMS to be calling it a "large output" beam cannon, but it also says the magazine can be changed to suit one's preference. It also mentions that it's stored in the "leg" of the Nightmare, and I *think* it says that it also has stealth capabilities. There's nothing about projectiles or vulcans.
  16. Yeah, now that you mention it, she does look kind of...aghast or something. Her hopes and dreams seem to have shrunk as well... Okay, never mind.
  17. No, it'll fizzle just like Snakes on a Train...
  18. If this is Sheryl's SMS Recruitment ad, it's working... Where do I join up?
  19. Just on a whim, I went to RobotechFanPlus's youtube page, and found this: So...which one of you wise guys is RobotechFanPlus?
  20. Just to be clear, it IS this one, right? If so, your best bet is "Macross the Complete," which is a 3-CD set. The second disc has karaoke versions of all the songs. Otherwise, there's the 25th Anniversary Cd Single Box Set (9 CDs this time, but each one has only four or five songs on it).
  21. True, true. (Although the TV show started in '95...and Gundam started in '79, but still, you're right). I guess what I'm really trying to get at, though, is the hostility I see from a lot of people. Yes, Eva merchandises more than a lot of anime, but that's because it's been more popular than most anime. The mention of two new Evas for the next movie has brought about a lot of howls about how its all about marketing. Armies of new Gundams and Valkyries, though, are (usually) met warmly. And I still think that's weird.
  22. I don't think the "Gun-doms" were official, fortunately or unfortunately... I'm not sure who would buy those, though...the only female Gundam fanatic I've ever seen was the heroine of the "Gunota no Onna" comic, and she's fictional... They would make a good gag gift, though. (Oh, and I wasn't being COMPLETELY sarcastic...I've seen all of those Gundam products for sale; getting "Gundam Ace" every month REALLY makes you realize just HOW MUCH crap they make for Gundam...)
