I mean, I hate it when characters in cartoons wear the SAME DAMN CLOTHES episode in and episode out, but really...six or seven pages devoted to Mylene just because her parents are higher-ups and probably got a free wardrobe for their kid? Jeez... Pity poor Misa...she only has a couple of different outfits, and thus only has a couple of pages covering her entire story...

Aren't those books, not CDs...? "band score" = sheet music, no? Ad CDs don't have ISBNs... Having just picked up the issue today, I haven't had time to really sit down with it...but I'm rather shocked that it looks like we're STILL not done with Mylene yet...

My experience has been that a lot of RT fans like Frontier. Mr. March can back me up on this, I think. But of course, most RT fans are SANE. The ones who aren't are the ones who give the rest of them a bad rap. Yeah, MEMO showed up here a couple of months ago, saying, "WE WANT TO DO A ROBOTECH CODEX STARTING WITH THE VF-1D. WHERE CAN WE FIND OFFICIAL INFORMATION ABOUT IT?" or something like that. We (rather gently) dissuaded him from using "Macross-only" sources, and he seemed to accept that. See? They're not ALL crazy.

Well...you DO post there more than most of us...which, by analogy, is kind of getting into the cage with the monkeys. Funny about Treiz...I first heard about him when he tried to argue with DougBendo about whether or not the SDF-3 would in reality have fallen into the black hole or not (can't recall who won, though...the whole thing was pretty painful) and then as the guy who posted a negative review of every episode of Frontier. Some of his points were valid, most were negative for negativity's sake. Interesting that he's moved on to whether the Japanese specs "work" for RT. I hope he wins that little argument. It would make me feel a little safer about Macross Chronicle translations not being pilfered to bolster RT.

If you want to PM me about what to look for in the Hibiki sheet, I'll let you know if it's there or not.

Don't get your hopes up...it seems to me that most of the character sheets don't go through the character's backstory much...and how many pages each character gets seems to depend less on how important they are and more on how many outfits they wear (I'm a-lookin' at YOU, Mylene!).

I doubt they've been "de-canonized," if that's what you're getting at. They probably just deem them important enough to include. In Chronicle, though, it seems like they should at least include an Extra Report in the Max and Millia pages about M3...

No, I'm not. As far as the blog is concerned, I'm only doing SDFM. In a few years, I'll get to Frontier over there, and THEN all of this stuff (and more!) will be collected. And yes, I want to hear the Indecent Version also...if even the staff got into the act, who knows WHAT it sounds like! I wouldn't be so sure about this being the ending for the movie, too. They seem to be holding a lot back on that count. Pretty much all Yoshino says about the movie is that possibly they'll figure out some way to give Klan a happier ending. And yeah, I think I do have time to do the commentaries...I'm pretty far ahead on SDFM subtitle work, and the novles are coming along...not fast, but fast enough. So yeah, I'll get crackin' on those.

Really? I don't ever recall them referring to it as such during the Macross Saga. But it's been twenty-five years since I've watched it...I may be misremembering. Anyway, if it was always a fuel, why did Rick and Lisa's kiss remind him of it? Or was it like, "Damn, two people kissing...this is dull...CRAP IN A HAT! I left the Protoculture Matrix running back at my apartment! My Protoculture bill's gonna be HUGE this month!"

Nope, he didn't. And "Protoculture" doesn't, I believe, become a fuel until the Mospeada generation.

OptimusX could answer this WAY better than I can, but I believe "Kancho" is simply a term for the Captain of a ship, regardless of official rank. Kind of like how, in episode 9 of SDFM, Global is referred to by his real rank (Commodore), but at all other times is "Captain."

One thing I don't understand (or I might've understood when I was a kid, but forgot)...why does Bodolzaa shout out "PROTOCULTURE!" when he sees Rick and Lisa kissing? Or is randomly shouting out the name of a fuel source common in the Robotech universe? Is it the RT version of "Yack Deculture"?

Well, that's certainly what they're still saying...whether it's still true (or was ever true) is anybody's guess. And I don't think it was in response to AnimEigo, since HG (as they say) did indeed work closely with AnimEigo, giving them the messed-up masters and allowing them to spend millions to restore them before taking them back and giving them to ADV.
