  1. I feel vindicated! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=758594
  2. Ah, NOW I understand.
  3. After a while, yeah. Not immediately. I'm not sure I get your point. Isn't this whole thread kind of about Basara? If he'd written an off-topic screed about, I dunno, the implication of conscious versus unconscious memory in Marcel Proust's A la recherche du temps perdu, I could understand complaining about it. But it was on-topic and added to the conversation. It SOUNDS like you're saying that we should all be brief when we're talking about a subject you're not interested in, but I must be wrong about that, because that would be ridiculous.
  4. Yes, but Gamlin is actually FRIGHTENED by rock music... Whoa there, Pardner. A VFTF1 who isn't long-winded isn't VFTF1 at all. (And actually, I think that's among his SHORTER posts...)
  5. "I didn't invite HER to the party, SHE invited ME! And then she just ignored me and left with Jimmy Peterson! JIMMY PETERSON!" Huh? Oh, sorry. Of course, I agree with you and Az. Fighting the powers that be is all well and good, but by now, I think we all know the rules of the RT.com game. If people want to play those rules, great. If they don't, well, it's HG's website and they can do whatever they see fit. It has nothing to do with what goes on here...unless the members here want to breathe a word of thanks that Macross World is a pretty relaxed place. Seto, I've said it before, I'll try not to say it again: I think you're a great guy. You're smart, funny, and enthusiastic, but you're playing a losing game over there, putting yourself through a lot of frustration for paltry gain. Sometimes it feels like Plato's cave analogy, and you're the one who's been outside the cave, trying to explain the outside world to everyone else. Other times it just feels like watching someone pick incessantly at an old scab. Do yourself a favor and get out before they force you out. Or else start lying through your teeth about how much you love Shadow Chronicles. Really, those are the only three options available to you now. No offense intended, and none taken, I hope.
  6. Not a plastic model, per se, but check out what I saw yesterday...
  7. And you call yourself a geek... http://www.theonion.com/content/node/25752
  8. Good location, good cast, but still...I wish they weren't doing this project.
  9. I'm in Tokyo and I'm having the same problem.
  10. We can make him better...stronger...hotter in a cowgirl outfit...
  11. *sniff* That was beautiful, man... Nah...if it had been from my dreams, she'd still be wearing her glasses.
  12. TONS of high-school students were at the theater both times I saw the movie, and a lot of them were girls, too. So if the Sunshine Cinema in Ikebukuro (which, by the way, is also where I saw Eva 1.0) is representative of the whole, I think it's safe to say that Eva is reaching a new crowd.
  13. Unlikely, at least for the time being. The vid of the last portion of the Eva movie that's recently been upped seems to have incensed the authorities. Which means harder crack-downs. Add to this the fact that Eva is VERY popular right now. Both times I saw it, the theater was packed. I can't see anyone getting away with a pirated copy of it. Maybe in a while, they'll release it on their website or something, but until then...
  14. Dude...quit hustling my chick.
  15. News news news... I've finished a first draft of the "Booby Trap" portion of the first SDFM novel (which puts me more than 1/5 of the way through the whole book). (Seriously, "Booby Trap" has been a never-ending episode for me. First I worked on the subs for the "Macross Special," then for the official Episode 1. Then I worked on it for Macross the First. Then I started the novel. Next I'm doing the film manga. After, no more "Booby Trap," and I can start agnoizing over "Count Down" in earnest. ) I also picked up the Macross II and Macross Plus novels. Macross Plus looks more like a prequel, talking mostly and Isamu, Guld, and Myung when they were in high school. Although it says "Volume 1" on it, there is no Volume 2. The "Macross II" novels are strange. There are five of them: the first two volumes are the adaptation of the OVA. The next three are a sequel story (or stories, I'm not sure yet). Should be interesting (I hope).
  16. I'm with Dreamweaver here. Gauzy see-through beats normal clothing, no matter how '80s it is.
  17. Not COMPLETELY, but close enough.
  18. Ugh. Makes me glad I'm in Tokyo this week. Seriously, do yourself a favor and wait. Avoid spoilers, avoid crappy camrips, and watch the movie in its full glory when the DVD arrives (probably just in time for Christmas).
  19. Nowhere yet. Even I haven't seen it yet.
  20. According to the album's back cover, no. But he and Grace are playing cards, and she's winning because she's got a couple of tentacles behind him, looking at his hand.
  21. God, the Leon/Grace "Zero G Love" duet is creepy as hell...
  22. Okay. Just ot back from seeing Eva 2.0 again, and THIS time, I made an effort to recall the Frontier trailer more clearly. So: yes, there were some recycled scenes, and some that looked like new versions of old scenes. The VF-25F is shown maneuvering about the city in gerwalk mode (episode 2 stuff). The Armored VF25S Itano Circus is shown, and there's what I think is a new scene of the VF-27 in battroid mode with its gun pointed right at the camera. There's also a Vajra that, while seen from a distance, looks suspiciously unlike any Vajra in the show. Slim, winged, and brown. I think. Other than that, Cowgirl Sheryl, Nyan-Nyan Ranka on the segway, and Brera in a suit.
  23. Well, they're not stretching it out NEARLY as much as they did the latter episodes of SDFM. And hey! There hasn't been ANYTHING about the VF-1 in the Mechanic Sheets for quite a while now!
  24. F, I believe...? And we haven't even got into DYRL and FB2012 for her... Since we're still on Macross Plus, shouldn't the answer be obvious...?
