  1. Back in the day, Zeta was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. When the US DVD box set came out, I found it a little draggy in places. But still, it takes its good sweet time setting things up. I have no idea where you are in the series, but I'd say that the REAL plot doesn't get underway until episode 10 or thereabouts.
  2. That's why it's a parody of the genre as well. And a number of the girls Ataru met WOULD'VE thrown themselves at him, if Lum hadn't been around to shock some fidelity into him...
  3. I liked Love Hina, but not for any reason I'm proud of. The only truly GOOD harem anime, I believe, is Urusei Yatsura...a brilliant parody of a genre that didn't even exist when it was made.
  4. I was joking. Macross Frontier is actually really good. And the battle scenes are spectacular.
  5. Well, obviously Macross Frontier sucks. In fact, anything with the Macross name sucks. I hate Macross. You should too.
  6. The one I liked was from the first link: Southern Cross...?
  7. http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...&forumid=24 *facepalm* http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...5&forumid=9 *more facepalm*
  8. Last I heard (which was a while ago, admittedly), he was talking more about Macross than Robotech anyway.
  9. Well...there IS the whole "Mystery of the 900 Lessoners." That is, if he's got 900 devoted fans, who come no one ever sticks up for him anywhere (except Memo. Sometimes)? Ah well, I can't log into Talkshoe anymore anyway, so if he DOES decide to continue tilting his lance at Macross windmills, I'll never know. Such a shame, isn't it?
  10. The battroid? No, that's lineart.
  11. He's checked my profile here once at least twice this week. Maybe he's planning some kind of major offensive...?
  12. One of my friends just sent me this... It's a gem.
  13. Very cool! But, uh, don't be surprised if film of you giving it to her ends up on some Japanese TV show. It happened to me (twice!) when I met Puffy.
  14. And that kunoichi girl at the end of Mospeada could've been, I dunno, Minmay's neice or something...
  15. But at least Colonel Jonathan was central in the one episode he appeared in. Look at Dr. Lang, whose role in the original was merely to show up and say, "Uh, the fold system has disappeared" and "Oh, hey guys! Look what we made! Find three girls who can play Centipede, and we're in business!" And from those humble beginnings, he got spun out into the GREATEST MIND OF HIS GENERATION, WHO CAN COMMUNE WITH THE PROTOCULTURE!!! Y'know...I bet there's an interesting story to be told about the guy with the mohawk and wicked shades who owns the arcade...I wonder why he never showed up again...?
  16. Ain't I a stinker?
  17. Hmmm...You HAVE been gone a while, haven't you? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32144
  18. When are you going to add Astro Plan to the M3?
  19. Hmm...I *might* be able to go to this one...
  20. It's not lineart in the actual magazine; it's a color pic. Y'know...because it was raining, I almost put off going to Kinokuniya until tomorrow to pick up my copy...and I'm sure glad I didn't! Either they ordered fewer copies of the magazine than usual, or that VF-4 cover REALLY sold the mag, because while they usually have about six or seven copies when I arrive, tonight they had...one.
  21. Yep. So called because they were meant to launch, not from the Prometheus, but from bays in the Macross's chest.
  22. Because Spengler is oh-so-talented, right? You've mentioned this before. Why is his location so important?
  23. I've been re-experiencing Rutlemania:
