  1. Just tell Kevin that you'd LOVE to give him proof to back up your claims, but because of the non-disclosure agreement you signed, you can't talk about it.
  2. *deep breath* STOP TRYING TO MAKE ROBOTECH MAKE SENSE, DAMMIT!!!
  3. 'Cuz she exceeds time and space, of course.
  4. RedWolf will probably say they were definitely molded by the Protoculture, but really, there's no evidence one way or another. If you've seen Macross Dynamite 7, you know as much as any of us do...until Macross Chronicle covers Zola, of course (which may be as soon as next week).
  5. Oh, I forgot to mention...I was wrong about my reading of one of the comics' titles; it IS INDEED "Macross 7th Code," not "Chord."
  6. Weirdly, Michael Blanc is described as being part-human, part-Zentradi but "with some Zolan blood." How this is even possible is rather unclear.
  7. Make 7000 more posts and it'll be YOUR rank, too.
  8. Well...Macross can also (depending on the episode) look WORSE than Zeta, too. Also remember: Macross was 36 episodes, Zeta was 50, so the budget for Zeta likely had to be stretched a little further. But yeah...it does look better in the books.
  9. They're the novels.
  10. But...but...that wouldn't depend on his skill, that would make it only a question of luck!
  11. I haven't seen the Tim Burton version (and likely won't), but two of the best Alice movies I can think of have very dark and creepy sequences. The overall best, I think, is Jan Svenkmajer's version... . And Jim Henson did some of his most disturbing work on Dennis Potter's Dreamchild...the Wonderland scenes are few and far between in it, but they're beautiful and horrifying: Bad quality, but the best I could find.
  12. I'm with Seto, here. Having be on the SDF-1 instead of Albuquerque Base seems like an innocuous enough change...especially in a series like Robotech which isn't noted for the coherence of it's "expanded universe" stories. Sounds like a classic case of straining at a gnat, but swallowing the camel whole.
  13. I have to say...I haven't opined on any series, because I keep thinking, "When I was 14, what anime series would I have wanted to watch with my Dad...?" And the answer is "None." He did once take me to see Night on the Galactic Railway...I liked it, he didn't.
  14. Thanks for the reminder, Vepariga...
  15. Funny, I don't remember any...except for some man-boobs.
  16. Several. Check "Otaku Homes and Gardens" Volume 3, issue 2, p. 162 et passim. Lavoisier's Elements of Chemistry (available in an affordable Dover paperback) also surprisingly makes reference to the phenomenon on p. 247. And, more recently, a noted authority on Robotech who hails from Canada addressed this problem on the public forum, "RobotechX.com."
  17. Nah...I think it's just a father and daughter who aren't used to expressing affection. Of course it's gonna come out sounding a little awkward.
  18. To be fair, it's not just Western fans that do that...getting ridiculously nit-picky is the provenance of fanboys the world over.
  19. Well, there's always music. But there's only been one good piece of music that's ever been recorded (or written down), and that's "Yummy Yummy Yummy (I've Got Love in my Tummy)." (See? I do like something!)
  20. Oh, I hate all anime, too. But not as much as I hate live action. And books.
  21. I've heard rumors about Orguss, but I don't think they've ever been verified. As far as I know, Macross, Southern Cross, Mospeada, and Megazone 23 are the only lucky, lucky shows to have Macek's Robotech genius slathered all over them.
  22. Well...it DOES happen before the main story of the first Macross series...but only a fool would watch it first.
