I guess I can throw out a general call... The Zentradi font is here: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~ranko-a/zent/info/moji_e.html Can anyone create a similar font that would make for readable English words?

That's okay... I don't know. I feel bad about this, because I can't help being vague and unhelpful, which I know drives people crazy. I'd really like something rounded and organic-looking, but none of those fonts are easy to read. Basically, I want the font equivalent of DYRL Exsedol...if that makes any sense. Or a tweaked version of the Zentradi alphabet. And then there's the fact that whatever we end up using for Macross the First will also end up getting used in the Galaxy Network release of DYRL...so I need something that looks good as a subtitle as well... It's a tall order. Probably impossible.

We've had some snags and miscommunication (all my fault, alas), but I think it's on track now. Anyone know any good fonts for Zentradi dialogue...?

I'll take your word for it...I recently looked at Malcontent Uprisings #1...and it seemed pretty low-quality all around. But, but...the whole idea of putting a Mospeada character in a Macross story is silly no matter WHERE he ends up.

I'd also like to add that if you don't yet know where you're staying, I highly recommend Juyoh Hotel in Taito-ku. It's not terribly close to anything, and it's a pretty crappy area (lots of old drunk men), but the staff is AMAZINGLY friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, there's an awesome large-style bath on the top floor, there's a really great (if expensive) coffee shop right across the street, and at ¥3200 per night, it's a real bargain.

Make sure you go to Nakano Broadway...it's like geek heaven. Personally, I was a little disappointed in Akihabara (the Animate store in Ikebukuro, for example, is better than the one in in Akiba) until I found the "Liberty" shops. They're all over the place, everything's used (and generally pretty cheap), and there's a very wide selection.

For the longest time, I thought Gamlin had just made a mistake and that WASN'T Physica's wife and child. It wasn't until Macross Chronicle covered Physica about a year and a half ago that I realized that his wife had just moved on... Sad.

It's okay...you should be used to it by now. I know I am. I found myself interested enough in this movie to check the "restricted" Youtube trailers...it looks like it could be good. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Is it okay if I put my Macross 7 love on pause for just a few seconds to lament that the Protodeviln rarely come off as terrifying as they should have...? I mean, really. Huge freaking monsters that can destroy entire planets and can withstand super-dimensional cannon blasts should, by all rights, be insanely awesome. Like King Gidrah from Krypton or something. And they're just not. Okay, I'm done complaining.

Me, I hope the film crew shows as much reverence for Robotech as Robotech showed for Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada.

Interesting theories about Sivil, Dex. My feeling about the Protodeviln is that they are meant to be pretty much impervious to any "normal" attack. The Macross 7 fleet can (and does) throw everything possible at them, and yet it doesn't do a whole lot. As long as they get spirita, they can keep going on and on. Hence, little things like "cold" and "air" and "pressure" matter little to them. I don't know how realistic or unrealistic that is, but it does what it's meant to: give an indication of just how strong these beings are.
