    IIRC, both Zeta Gundam and Hokuto no Ken were released in North America with BGM filling in for the original songs, because the song rights were denied to the US companies. Now that may be fine for those series, where songs don't play an important part in the story, but for something like Macross 7 (or, potentially, Frontier), it would be deadly.

    Two Frontier movies (the second still on its theatrical run, so don't ask about when the DVD/BD will be available), Macross Chronicle and Macross Ace Magazines, a bunch of new comics, novels, and CDs (some music, some drama), and some events.

    He designed the original characters for the novel, but of course, those designs were worked over for the anime. I think they still retain a lot of the flavor of Yas's illustrations.

    I don't think you NEED to have seen everything Macross to enjoy the movie, but there are certainly some scenes you'll enjoy more if you have.

    Another big quake hit about and hour or so ago. Save and his friends and I were sitting in a bar, and managed to stave it off by singing the chorus of "Dynamite Explosion" very loudly. This is getting really damn annoying.

    Unfortunately Macross Chronicle and the Frontier books that came out before 2010 are packed up back in the States, but the info is indeed in the Michel page of Chronicle, as well as in either 2059: Memories or the Official Fan Book (can't remember which one). It's also in the novelization.

    The latest chapter follows "Bye-Bye Mars" really closely, so yeah...swarms and swarms of Regulds.

    New issue of Macross Ace was, again, all right. As you might expect, lots of news about Sayonara no Tsubasa, Macross the First continues to be great, Macross Plus: Tac Name continues to be lame, Macross 7th Code continues to baffle me, and Macross F: Secret Visions continues to be MIA. Lots of gag comics (some funny, some not) continue to fill up the extra space. One thing nice in this issue: a comic about the maintenance crew for the YF-29 going through a history of forward-swept-wing Valks. Mechatronics focuses on the VB-X-2. There's also a nice Mikimoto poster of Mylene. And Veffidas, I also picked up Macross: Zentra Mori, which is a collection of most (but certainly not all) of the gag comics from Macross Ace. If you have all the issues, there will be nothing in the book that surprises you.
