Banshee's First Impressions of Macross 7!
Gubaba replied to VF-15 Banshee's topic in Movies and TV Series
She's awesome on her own or with Fukuyama. If you haven't heard her solo albums, you NEED to! And along the blue bar above the threads, you'll see "Recently Updated. Start Date. Most Replies. Most Views. Custom." Hit custom, and set it at "Show all." That should take care of the problem for you. Hell, if you go back far enough, you'll be able to see for yourself how Agent ONE derails EVERY SINGLE Macross 7 thread. -
Banshee's First Impressions of Macross 7!

More on topic, I still have yet to see Yoshiki Fukuyama in concert, but I've seen Chie Kajiura twice, and she totally rocked both times. -
Banshee's First Impressions of Macross 7!
Gubaba replied to VF-15 Banshee's topic in Movies and TV Series
Ah, Agent ONE is some cranky old guy who says that Macross 7 will turn your kids gay. He's been nicer lately, though, when he's turned up. Oh, and I'd advise not touching the doorknobs when he's around. You never know WHAT kinda junk they got on them... -

Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD
Gubaba replied to Tochiro's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
And impress me they did! And I'm an old-school Macross fan, too...since 1984. -
Okay...that, I agree with... I also agree with Veef.

Eugimon, I love ya man, but I think you're building a straw man here... You're creating a situation where PACIFISTS have no recourse besides (to put it bluntly) rolling over and laying dead, while NON-PACIFISTS have a range of options...and I don't think that that's the real case.

Nit-picky note: It's a series of novels, not a manga.

If it's the moment I'm thinking of, she says "Hikari," which is very close to "Hikaru." They both mean "light" or "shining."

I'm not sure if that's an issue. The movies were clearly made for people who saw the show. -
Happy Thanksgiving! In true Thanksgiving spirit, I ate octopus dumplings this evening.

In the real world? Yes. In-universe, it's a "parallel story."

Well...but the main image they show from Plus in "A Future Chronicle" is an early animatic for Sharon's earring...I think it was a stylistic decision rather than proof that 7 was in preproduction. Well, remember that Plus and 7 were developed together (and were supposed to be just two parts of a three-part Macross revival...the third part being the live-action Hollywood movie, Final Outpost Earth). So they took the opportunity to solidify the timeline, and came up with "DYRL is just a movie" rationale. Apart from showing up in "A Future Chronicle," the same info shows up in the timeline at the back of each volume of Macross 7 TRASH. So it's not really from the background materials for Plus, it's just from an attempt to make a standard timeline for Macross in general. A funny note about this...Sukehiro Tomita (a scriptwriter for SDFM, and THE scriptwriter for DYRL and Macross II) wrote a series of five Macross II novels from '92 to '94. In the final book, he has an afterword where he basically comes about and says, "Well, this entire continuity is getting tossed out the window, so please enjoy Macross Plus and 7 when they debut later this year!" (Don't feel too bad for him, though...he was still gainfully employed as the script editor and head scriptwriter of Macross 7.)

There are at least five people on that fleet that no one would mourn.
