Macross Chronicle Exclusive: 1/48 VF-1A TV Kakizaki Type
boota replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
What will you guys do when they announce next year that tv max & kakizaki will be weathered like roy, hikaru 1s & 1j? -
Doesn't matter when even Ozma wants a piece of the action.
-
What I'm moe interested to know is... is the swimsuit removable?
-
Ah, but imagine Focker & Kakizaki with all the old bad habits... in the midst of all the other sleek artwork... imagine how the water droplets bouces off Minmay in the Zero G shower scene... imagine how juicy it'd be when Milia bounces her boobs during the knife fight with Max pre-milf... all in HD glory!

Nah, its a waste of time to even think of putting the old SDF Macross into Blu-ray... the travesty that is in some episodes by animefriend along with all the outdated fashion design and clucky knobs on the console oughta be scrapped... say no to lasy-assed short cuts and money will be better spent if they just reproduce with new animation like Rebuild of Evangelion; except in a tv series length. That way we can ensure a new generation of audience and a fanbase that will last the franchise well beyond 2020. The spirit of the SDF Macross needs a youthful look otherwise the Blu-ray format is wasted.

Heh, save on Toynami's price, and you still get bentover at international shipping because of their box.

Feed them millets instead of rice and everything will be okay.

LOL! Had a lot of faith in Ray Stevenson... he rocked in Rome... alas! How many Punisher fcuk-ups do they need to finally do a good one?

Profits, yes. Decent margins, no. The discounts offered for the Yamato stuff are telling me otherwise. HLJ isn't stupid. They most certainly will not sell at... at least 50% off without Yamato's say so... and Yamato, will not blindly sign off on such a significant profit margin if it isn't doable... all it took was a little persuasion from the bad economy. Your paper has always been more valuable than their plastic. I could be wrong though, maybe Yamato is in serious trouble. If I'm right, HLJ is lucky... the others stuck with Yamato's stuff are SOL... So, as enlightening as it is, these verbose praises and ideals aren't what we don't already know... but they are more fitting for an eulogy, though.

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
boota replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yup, look at HLJ... even the Yamato Protogarlands are showing a dismal performance at 50% off! And it's their least problematic one at that! What're y'all waiting for, the Yen to crash?- 1056 replies

VFTF1, I'm not taking sides. All this "bad" news is simply telling me that I'll either get a damn good quality 1st release Yamato product, or I'll get to save my money for something else. Other than that, I get nothing out of rationalizing for any of them.
-
You wanna talk about greed, there are many ways to look at it... Yamato's slipshot quality is one form of greed, HG/Toynami's is another. What HG/Toynami is doing to Yamato... the way I see it, is two greedy bast@rds ganging up to lay a smackdown on another greedy fool... I like that... Yamato has no choice but to do better for real this time. Their gravy train is coming to a stop. Serves them right.
-
Yamato didn't take 10 years to make a 1/48... experience and actual time taken are two totally different matters. Shouldn't talk about Yamato valk making journey like how The Eagles wrote their songs...42 years to write and 4 minutes to sing... If there is any hint in sincerity from the former, we'd take your words for it already.
-
That number is no comparison to the shiploads of IOUs the US has with China obviously.
-
Yamato making 1000-2000 yen per 1/48 valk is not alot in the scheme of things... it's not an amount to sneeze at either. Why not make another 30 Yen for side parts and such, or 100 yen more just for QC on top of that? The real question isn't whether Yamato is greedy or not... it's that they aren't customer savvy at all. They don't do their home work, they certainly don't learn from their mistakes. You guys dispense economic wisdom for a company as though there is something to be gained from doing it. Well, here is the reality... for every one of you who thinks that Yamato isn't greedy, there are 10 of these guys:- But rock on if it pleases you.

The weathered versions are not so bad... even if it was a douche... everyone has bought their normal versions... so we get to choose to buy it or not. The 1/48 VF1A TV Max exclusive is... now that is fricking enema. I hope they make sure it has zero problem... otherwise it will be like giving hug to a very old buddie and his colostomy bag burst.

When you consider the fact that Yamato makes high-end Macross products and calls have been made for them to improve their quality... improve not meaning - sell the crappily made ones, just to meet deadlines, on top of trying better next time... most of the time... you get a scenario where fans are divided between the ones that question their products monetary worth, and those who fear not seeing those product again as a result of the inquisition and bad practice exposure... to those who have pockets deep enough, they are not hurt by a bad purchase, but resent the ones who whine and complain too much about it. So, the "fault" terminology being used here is justified, although not pointed at the right party... Same goes for this bloated sense of entitlement remark. Bottom line is, someone is not doing their job, and everybody else is afraid of loosing their precious.
-
So it's always the consumers in general whose at fault when they can't afford stuff or find them too expensive, huh? Let's not forget... conflicted as the Macross fanbase maybe, the same customers who b1tch & whine about the prices, also buy the stuff. Without that sense of entitlement, companies like Yamato can eat poo. As for the tendency for customers to run off at the mouth, Yamato should give mufflers as GWP with their valks - even simpler.
-
Talking about Yamato and quality is always a bad day.

Thanks for the education... I'll take your "I don't like the current market price" for lack of the... "not that there is anything to dislike, the work put out just don't reflect the asking price." Sorry man, you failed to realize that none of the current major players for the Macross anime toys to date has ever made any quality items since 1999. But thanks though, it's eye opening to see how far you would go to convince yourselves otherwise.

If not wanting to afford these things "cheapen" the product we want, we should all do it more often! Cheap prices FTW!
