Mental remote control systems in Macross
SchizophrenicMC replied to RedWolf's topic in Movies and TV Series
Could be like in Zoids: Chaotic Century. The mecha are designed for humanoid pilots, but oftentimes, an AI or remote-control device (Sleeper System in Zoids) is connected to the main computer, allowing for control input. Could be a "sleeper" system added post-construction. -
Damn! That was more epic than I expected

Mental remote control systems in Macross

You see my point: The AIF-7S AI is unable to run on its own, unless Judah System is released. If Judah System remains operating, the AIF-7S requires a connection to the host (Be it RVF, Battle Class, Etcetera) to allow it to access the AI to calculate its maneuvers. If it's released, the AI onboard activates in full, and allows complete autonomous operation. This is all just speculation, but it makes sense. -
Reaction turbines are smaller than jet turbines. Since the reaction turbines probably wouldn't be ready, the decision was made to upscale the plane so: if they had to use jets, it would fit them or if they could use TRTs, it would still work because they could be fitted into the larger nacelles with few problems. They also, apparently, didn't forsee the need for larger fuel tanks, as the planes needed so much, they could only operate for short periods even with conformal tanks. The Spacy never went back to the 0's design, nor did they go back to the 1. They went with the 0's size, perhaps, but they used more modern designs, leaving the remnants of pre-SWI Earth behind. The VF-0 is not very large, by today's fighters. The F-14 is 19 meters long, and the F-18 is 17 meters long. The VF-1, which everyone seems to use as a comparison base for size, is 14 meters long, shorter than a F-35. I don't see the big deal about the Phoenix or the Crusader. Both are big versions of the VF-1. (Albeit, the Crusader is more like an F-15 than a F-14/18 hybrid.)

Anyone doing custom sticker/decals set for MF monster?
SchizophrenicMC replied to Rhapsodyred99's topic in The Workshop!
It's generally accepted practice to A) Contribute something to the dead thread, thus reversing the effect of Necromancy, or B ) Start a new thread, pertaining to it, this time, with all of the old thread's important bits summarized and new info provided. Yes, someone can. Just get some good images, get into Photoshop or the like, and make everything. Print on decal paper. Make sure you've got it all scaled properly. You want something done, do it yourself. That's how I roll. -
Reminds me more of Unit-00 from Evangelion, albeit with 4 lasers on its head.

And I agree that better ENGLISH would be cool. DAMN, man, you gotta work on that. People who hear me bag on lurkers, you see why I dislike them now? Moving on, Falcon 4 Open Falcon? Heh?

I'd try Gunship Grey or Gunmetal Grey paint from Testors. They're generally good colors. If you want a more realistic color, go for Ghost Grey or Light Ghost Grey. Good stuff. Just swing by the hobby store and look at the available paint colors. Pick one that suits your fancy.

Once again, MechTech is RIGHT ON. The fact that the time between two posts was almost 5 months made it a "necro" post. It's called that because after an extended period with no activity, a thread is considered "dead". Necromancy is the art of raising the dead. Thus, posting in a dead thread, one that has been inactive for an extended period of time, is necromancy, as the "dead" thread is made active once more. I'll stop being ruthlessly sarcastic now. -
Mental remote control systems in Macross

Ghost AIF-7S (Or whatever it is that Luca has) uses a simple AI that requires a connection to a host to run. (I dunno. Maybe the AI is stored aboard the host, so as to prevent capture?) God knows what Judah System is... The VF-11 Drones are likely just control systems programmed into the communications array, so it can be remotely controlled, like a UAV in real life. Now, the BDI and BCS are a little more fun. They're connected to the brain, through what is seemingly an implant or a sensor mounted in the helmet. The systems interpret data exiting the brain into controls or sensor commands. Also, they feed data directly to the vision and audio centers of the brain. However, they seem to have nasty side effects, like pushing a mentally unstable half-Zentran over the edge, causing a series of disasters. Also, they're too indiscriminate. A simple, passing thought was mistaken for a control input. Worse yet, it requires extreme focus that only comes through months of training just for that. The most fun, because there's almost nothing known about it, so we can speculate the hell out of it, is the VF-27 control interface. It would seem to be a fold-wave communications system. It would definitely explain why Ranka seemed to be able to see the cockpit in all its shiny. It's most likely an implant in Brera's cybernetic brain that allows for specific commands to be picked out and sent to the VF-27, probably in the same way as the Ex-Gear's slave system, at least as far as the signal system goes. It's much more precise, unlike its older counterpart, as we see when Brera pilots his VF-27 to the top of the hill and held it there stable enough for Ranka to board, even raising it slow and level. It also seems to take much less of a thought process. The aforementioned scene was all performed while Brera was running up to and holding a knife to Alto's throat. It's all speculation, though. None of that is fact. -
Flexidisplays, they come in 3 different sizes, LAFToys.com Especially helpful for Dallasites, because LAFToys is based in Dallas.

Well, as much as that helped, it still sounds bad... I just realized how stupid I am. I have a palatial expander. There's no way I can speak clearly! In the words of Bender, "Eh, screw da whole thing." Thanks for the advice, though.

Well, I got a $60 Logitech. Now, I'm working on figuring out how NOT to get that static-y scratchy noise in the background. Also looking into Afrin. Get yourself a 64-bit processor, but run a 32-bit OS. The 64-bit OS's I've had experience with SUCK. ESPECIALLY Vista 64. Vista 32 owns, but 64 is...

I see... Option one sounds like it's my option. Two is too expensive and... Well, it seems like it would take up too much space. (I've got a cramped room.) I don't know, man. I doubt I'd be able to do anything with this, anyway, what with my allergies. It's got me all stuffy. I hate spring... I think I'll go ahead and get the headset mic when the money comes in. Now a few questions. Relegated to draw back from its position? What does that mean? Filte... What?

34cm = .34m 400/.34= 1176 Thus, this is 1/1776 scale. I wants it. I wants it a lot. -
Holy giant robot spaceship, Batman! That's huge. I'm gonna need to move a shelf down to make room.

No, I use Audacity. Was using the mic for Skype. Then, it broke. So, now I'm REALLY up the Genghis without a bamboo oar. What microphone would you suggest?
-
Dude, that is amazing. Urashiman, you've lost your position as Best Macross Papercrafter

Mic I got sucked, store had a no-returns policy, I was out of money after that mic. And yes, I did try setting my sound card settings up to the highest mic/line in quality. Nada.

My MADE UP TERM? How many people on this forum use NMC? More than just me. And, for that matter, it's been in use since long before I was here. For quite some time, NMC WAS the accepted term. Now what? I'm sticking with my old blanket term, thank you. Moving the f*ck on, Does it really matter? My favorite gunpod to hand is Roy's in MacZero. It looks awesome and makes sense. I mean, maybe it's got Magic Hands.
