  1. Well, while MKV is just a container, it is capable of supporting HD, and usually does, as AVIs are smaller and do the same, albeit with less quality. Anywho, you can make a non-HD source HD if you do enough to it, sharpening and detailing and whatnot. It's not as good as if it was MADE in HD, but it's hella better than the original. For example, look at Star Wars. In 1977, it came out okay. 20 years later, they went in, sharpened it, added some scenes Lucas had never gotten around to, and it came out leagues better than the originals. Now, it was no HD transition, but you get the picture.
  2. I HATE USPS tracking. I got a set of COG Tags from Gears of War 2, shipped through USPS, and for a week after I received them, it still showed them in Sacramento, California. I live in Dallas, Texas. Twelve Hundred miles away.
  3. It's nearly delta-winged, though. It uses elevons. Though it's unstable on all axes, you can't use it as a comparison for a plane with no horizontal stabilizers. It would be like saying a Rafale, Typhoon, or Mirage is inherently unstable, simply due to lack of tailplanes.
  4. He's right. 2 are trainers, it appears, and one is a run-of-the-mill D-variant. Also, when YouTube created the HQ/HD system, they added MP4 compression to the site. Normal quality is compressed to FLV, which reduces quality a fair bit. HQ and HD are compressed to MP4 which adds some JPEG artifacts, but is far better than FLV. Not quite MKV but good enough for me. By the way, Hissatsu, it is HD if it's in a 720p or higher resolution. If it was any lower, the HD option on YouTube would be HQ.
  5. HD Macross Plus is HD
  6. So... Would NMC suffice for New Macross-class and NMCV for New Macross-class Carrier?
  7. David, I'd assume less. They're smaller than jet turbines and they're OT. Steve, the F-16 can't fly if what you're saying is true. Nor can the F-22, F-35, or really any fighter plane since 1980-something. The computer controls the plane's control surfaces, making very minute changes to react to the slightest movements off-level. The adjustments are minute, so unless you were on the plane, looking at them, the paddles wouldn't appear to move. Also, Macross animated on a 1980s budget. That's just not possible to do that at that time. That said, the VF-1 is explicitly stated by all sources (Yes, even Robotech) to have both 2D thrust vectoring and Fly-By-Light controls. Fly-by-wire and Fly-by-light are used a lot lately, not only because the systems weigh less, but because they can provide changes to control surface area by the tiniest iota, according to computer commands, meaning the flight data actually goes to good use, keeping an unflyable plane in the air. Besides, the VF-1 likely has most of its weight towards the back, meaning it can be more easily thrust-stabilized, if I'm not mistaken.
  8. I KNEW IT! YES! Now, I want it all the more. Can't wait for a list of gimmicks.
  9. Wooden planes are fun, too.
  10. "My, you have a yarnful of hair- a hairful of yarn!" -Buzz Lightyear I want a Gubaba now, and I don't mean the guy posing with him.
  11. Meh. I mean, really, I'm not so much worried about it, but I don't necessarily trust the g-damper (Inertia Store Whatever) On that note, and I wanna keep this limited to this post, the acceleration of ships in Star Wars, even sans hyperdrive, is insane! Over 5000-G acceleration on the Eta-2. It's almost ridiculous. Only not, because it's SciFi.
  12. South Ataria. Macross is Robotech. 97.5 KSDF South Ataria Island Hit Radio My boyfriend listens to KSDF
  13. So... Speaker Gunpod or Sniper?
  14. I would not want to sit in a VF-27, afterburning. That would, uh, suck? SPLAT!
  15. I figured that printing just the wings at Kinko's would cost $35 or so. So, for my test runs, I'm off to buy some ink for my printer. Shiny Kinko's can come later, after I make Prototype I and II, then burn Prototype II to make Production I. It's a lot of work.
  16. It's a comparison of advancement. The amount of change between the Sopwith Camel and the F-22 is the same amount of change we see between VF-1 and VF-25, he was saying. You're overthinking this. It still gets me that the moose of the group is the lightest. Oh, hey, while we're on the subject of T-W, what's the VF-1's with Super Pack?
  17. Sorry, I forgot to clarify. I meant at maximum speed in a high-g turn. And I know the flightcom would and I know the planes do, but I was just asking what kind of g-limit we have on the plane, and what its maximum pull is. Sh*t yeah, man! Sneak a hase in there! It's close enough! C'mon, Dex! GERWALK: The only real use: VTOL! 50 years is a long time. In the last 50 years, we've gone from F-86 Sabres (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we had them in '59) to F-22 Raptors. Raptors are much faster, much more powerful, much more maneuverable, etcetera. As a response to your side note, the F-15A had a T-W of .9 at Military Thrust and the F-15C had a T-W of 1.2 at Military. So, variants often raise the bar.
  18. Well, actually, it was a download permission thing. You have to be approved to post, then make a few posts, then the forum will let you download. Work is progressing slowly. I have finished scaling and splitting the right wing. Left Wing is next.
  19. "Calling SDF Macross! Come in, SDF Macross! This is UN Spacy Command, do you read me? Macross responding, read you loud and clear! Macross, planet Earth needs your help! On the way! MACROSS! The world's greatest battleship, now the world's greatest toy! Macross has it all! Locking wrist carrier ship! Calling Macross! Daedalus Attack Action! Wow! Pulsating Super-Dimension Energy Cannon! Total annihlation! Multi-phrase Minmay simulator! My boyfriend's a pilot! And, best of all, HIGH-PRESSURE SPACE KNEES! Fire the gun! (NOT A SITTING TOY) Get your SDF-1 Macross action figure and save a galaxy near you! MACROSS! Available at all HobbyLink Japan outlets in the Tri-Continent Area" -Commercial for Macross toy Man, this is what you get when you make a joke and I just watched Toy Story again.
  20. Yeah, I saw 'em. D/l'd your detail pack, 1D Angel, and I was gonna download the darkbird, but decided against it. The real plus of these is that they're vectored at the source, so I don't have to clean up, just zoom in, screencap, and work 'em together in GIMP... Then, take them apart, so I can print it on many many sheets of cardstock. I just realized I probably did a bad job of scaling this; I might be building this 3 times bigger than I'd wanted to. 1/6 ain't a bad scale, though, right? Now, where to put the completed model? Also, how much reinforcement will I need? 0_0
  21. Naw, really? I know. That's why I said it.
  22. Well, I'm not saying the wings don't produce enough lift, I'm saying that the lifting body moves the quarter chord behind the center of gravity, reducing the possibility of wild pitching during transonic and supersonic flight, somewhat. Add the FBL and T-W, and you have a solid plane. And this brings me an issue. If it has such a high T-W, what kinda g-loads are we putting on our pilots here? For that matter, at its maximum speed, what kind of g-loads are we getting? 0_0
  23. Awright. It seems if you talk to Los and make an appointment, you can pick up goods in person. I'd be happy if I had money.
  24. Heh... Foamies fly even without airfoils. Explain that, engineers!
