  1. So, to conclude, at this time, the VFX-1 Valkyrie Testplane is a definite flyable design, but the VF-1 Valkyrie is currently lacking. I'm sure the leg swing, at least, is possible to an extent, currently, though, given the plane slows down enough.
  2. But from what I gather from that, the only Atmospheric FAST packs that exist are for the VF-19 and VF-17, not the VF-1. I read, once, about an RPG that had atmospheric FAST packs for VF-1s, but they were completely non-canon.
  3. I'd dye the outside dark brown if I couldn't get a dark brown tribble, before sticking on crazy eyes. Speaking of Star Trek, today, my Kellogg's Star Trek shirt came in the mail.
  4. Hell yeah! Also, conformal tanks, rocket pods, non-canon foldildo, separate ELINT equipment, so I can strap that stuff on a normal VF-1 without having to buy a damned VE-1, the aforementioned side covers, etcetera.
  5. Zero-Dee! Zero-Dee! Zero-Dee! I loves me a 0D.
  6. So let us never forget those who fell so that we could stand... Great work. Now, you just need to give some more detail, like the afforementioned wires, and try maybe warping some parts so they look badly damaged by mecha punch.
  7. Yeah, English is a bad language to try to speak, since it has no rules, only exceptions. The wings DO swing open and closed. It takes more work to make them, but they do. Also, with the Detail Kit, you can make the flaps move, too.
  8. ^ | Which is exactly why I always have a box of Q-tips when I decal.
  9. Yeah, man. What they said. The VF-171 is easily in my top 3 favorite valks.
  10. Does it have to be DYRL? SDF-1 or can it be TV?
  11. You must construct additional (weapons) pylons.
  12. Looking at the comparison photos, I realize just how wonky the VT-1 looks. I think I'll stick to the 1D.
  13. Those are the fast convertibles of the fighter world, and this: Is the Jeep Wrangler of the cargo plane world
  14. Continued: And you'd find yourself, likely, in a worse flat spin than an F-14A with one of its engines stalled.
  15. 1: FAST Packs are used in space, since the drag a pack causes is insane and messes up the flight dynamic 2: GERWALK is slow, not fast enough to rip off any sections 3: The forward fuselage blocks most of that section, anyway 4: The construction material would have to be strong enough to keep that from happening, anyway Not to mention the -25F without a canopy
  16. This is one idea I've kinda kept to myself. My thinking is the paddles don't have enough surface area to aerodynamically stabilize the plane, anyway. And that thinking is why I haven't brought it up. Besides, if they are used, it would make more sense to make slight adjustments in thrust and position to keep the plane "stable", similar to a FBW plane adjusting its control surfaces ever so slightly, many times a second to achieve the same effect.
  17. Really... I've only ever seen 26" monitors, and they're all in the $700 range. Plus, I don't think anyone has deskspace for more than 19 inches. Silly Head Pilot, loading time's the issue, anyway.
  18. My god, that's my avatar... Wait, no. My avatar's a 1A. Never mind. Great work, man. I'm impressed.
  19. Strange. I've not once used a paintbrush when applying waterslides. Always used tweezers to set them down and tapped them lightly with a q-tip to absorb excess water. As long as you don't move the q-tip on any axis but straight down, you should be fine.
  20. Well, if this stupid nasal spell clears up, I'll be an option. Of course, with winter bearing down on us, I can't make any promises.
  21. God, I don't even care enough anymore. Video is not my specialty, alright? I go by hearsay.
  22. From a canon standpoint, not the plastic toy, please.
  23. They can fly easily with our technology. A good way to look at it is the X-36, which had no vertical stabilizer. It still flew, and straight, though it had no large yaw-based control surface. The flight dynamics, then, work similarly with the VF-1. I think Isamu was talking about a much more precise version of FBL to go along with the forward-swept VG wing on the YF-19. Perhaps, it even shifted weight within the valk to change the CG actively, increasing combat maneuverability, while retaining stability in normal flight. Though, another problem I notice is at high sweep, the VF-1's wings are too far over the wing for the ailerons to move down, due to the engine nacelles. This would severely limit its ability to control itself at high sweep, sans thrust vectoring. Given, you'd be unlikely to see it at speeds low enough to warrant full range of motion.
  24. Now, I wanna get my Angel Bird saluting an American flag, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
  25. Well, they're similarly flexible...
