  1. It's probably going to be pretty posable on the stand. If the stand is anything approaching the PG Strike stand, it'll be perfectly usable.
  2. I've never had any problems with Bandai waterslides, and I've never heard of anyone having problems. You're the first. That's all I'm saying.
  3. I need MG DX and that exclusive Zeta in my life. Accursed empty wallet.
  4. I agree with Basara. They started the show off with Fumina in the Powered GM Cardigan to show her awesome plamo skills, and her level of piloting skills. She's a right proper badass. But then Sekai and Yuuma are incapable of working together, despite having complementary gunpla. So she spends some time figuring out what kind of gunpla to build that would best suit the other two members of her team, and make them work together in the best way possible. And the only way she could do that was with an SD support unit, which she's willing to do because the success of the team means more to her than her own personal ambition or glory. So at this point I'm pretty much just wondering what everyone's mid-cycle refresh MS will be.
  5. I've had good luck with decals on bare plastic, but the trick is surface prep. If there's anything keeping the decal from bonding to the plastic, you're boned. I definitely always recommend clear coat, but I haven't had any handling issues myself. Actually, the question I'm asking myself now is, am I going to paint my PG Unicorn? Regardless, I'm going to decal and clear coat it. But I don't know if I want to go for matte, satin, or mirror gloss for the finish.
  6. I maintain the problem is with your technique and not Bandai's materials.
  7. My favorite part of the GT350 is the flat plane crank. Rumor is that engine will freely rev to 8000. That's not bad for a big American V8. In personal car news, I've given up on the engine and EFI management system that currently find themselves in my 240SX. Screw trying to get this Nissan system to work, I'm gonna tear it all down and go standalone.
  8. At PG pricing and detail, you'd expect they'd throw waterslides in, especially since it's become so common on recent MGs. It's not like waterslide decals are expensive either. The waterslide version of the RG RX-78-2's sticker sheet is like $5 retail.
  9. I'm hoping (vainly) that they start it in the $50k range. The Z/28 is just overpriced, and even the Hellcats are less than $70k. Leave that price range for the inevitable GT500. But I'm not a marketing exec at Ford, so I have no idea what they'll do for price. I just know I'm really pleased that they actually made the Voodoo a production reality.
  10. PG straight builds without stickers look great. Adding some paint for panel lines or frame detail, or applying some stickers or decals only amplifies the effect of just how good a PG usually looks. Even after my cat half-destroyed my PG Strike, I've kept it on display because it still looks awesome. Recently, Bandai have been releasing decals with the higher-end kits, so I'm really hoping we get waterslides with the PG Unicorn. As far as what Hikuro's saying about decals, I have never seen that happen, nor have I had any problems with Bandai waterslides. If I had to guess, I'd say his surface prep or handling are no good, and that's causing the decals to not set properly. As far as the LED kit, that news makes the price more palatable, but it probably means you won't be able to add LEDs down the line. Either way I'm sold on both. As soon as I have some money and orders open back up again, I'm picking up both.
  11. I'm starting to agree. The Unicorn has substantial enough panel breakup that there's not as much need to use panel color for color breakup. Also, with the use of some decals, the effect can really be drawn out. And then of course there's Destroy Mode, which throws all color breakup arguments out. Every new promo shot I see sells me a bit more on it. I just hope it's got better locking mechanisms. Especially for the split in the grey section on the lower torso. That's where my MG has the most trouble. Hold on, did they say 32 LEDs? I thought it was supposed to be 29. Actually, I'm starting to consider mirror gloss a potential finish for the Unicorn after seeing that PV again. That'd be fun.
  12. Yeah, I don't dig big-name upgrades. They're for people with more money than sense. Not to mention I'm a built-not-bought kind of guy. On the other hand, Ford Racing sells some kits for the Focus ST, for like $900, that adds like +70whp and +90wtq or some figure I'm misquoting from my ST-owner cousin. And that does maintain the factory warranty. Generally, I like the new Mustang. I think it's finally worth buying. I'm just sad the engineers couldn't meet their weight goals.
  13. The turbo makes more power, a lot more torque, does it along a flatter curve, and it gets better fuel economy to boot. Not to mention you can't get any options on the V6 model. That's basically the rental car model. The ecoboost also weighs slightly less and has better weight balance than the V6, which slings more weight over the front axle. They're also not that expensive. The Ecoboost starts out $300 cheaper than the base model FR-S. I'd rock one. Speaking of Mustangs, the GT350 was unveiled recently. Those crazy bastards made the Voodoo a production reality!
  14. PGs tend to be stickers-only, but Ver.Ka kits used to be that way too. I, for one, would very much like to see waterslide decals. Sure they're a pain to apply, but they look so good. On a kit like Unicorn, the color breakup of markings certainly would not go amiss. Going to decals rather than stickers would be even better.
  15. See, I told you it'd be best to withhold judgment until some better promotional material was out. This paints the kit in a much more impressive light, and now we have some idea of how the LED kit is going to work. The only thing I think is a bit iffy on it is that Destroy Unchained mode, which I think they could have pulled something a bit cooler off with. (Though I like the concept, and I think it's well in keeping with the design and purpose of Destroy Mode- that exposing psychoframe increases the effects of the system) At this point, I have 2 questions: does the LED kit have to be installed during initial assembly; and do the parts on the side of the head pop out and rotate, or will the head be parts-forming like the MG?
  16. To be fair, Amazon is just hosting a listing for COOL JAPAN TOKYO, who is the actual seller, and who is also fulfilling shipping. That said, this is me wishing HG would:
  17. And why isn't it? Space? Money? There are 3 SVXs within 30 miles of me, that are in good running order, and under $5,000 and 150,000 miles, just on local craigslist. And they're still a car that can be a practical daily driver, even if their marketing sucked. If you love a car, and it's not NSX money to buy it, why not? If I could get it up for the SVX, I'd be all over those. As it is, I'm waiting for an XR4Ti or an FC Turbo to pop up at the right time.
  18. It's an expression of how badly the full scale Gundam needs to be put in the Last Shooting! pose.
  19. Speaking of passing power, the cool air recently has been AMAZING for my Jeep. The thing is a rocket when it's not sucking in billion-degree air and driving a stuck-on clutch fan. In underappreciated car news, the SVX was let down by its styling, price, and the fact that Subaru could not figure out a durable enough manual transmission, so they had to be automatic-only, which never works for sports cars. You can totally pick one up today for like 3 grand or less, and they're made primarily from Subaru parts, which means the availability isn't all that bad. Subaru really likes modular similarity. Taught a friend how to drive stick today- he's buying an old Accord with 3 pedals, and needs the knowledge. However, even more faults in my Nissan have been revealed. The power steering leak has become profuse, and there's now a coolant leak from somewhere. And the engine is running worse than ever. What the hell, Nissan? I need some cashflow so I can fix this junker. EDIT: Speaking of 280ZXs, a local Kia dealership got its hands on a 1983:
  20. The Starion looks super cool, but it was never much of a performer. With a 2.6l TBI 4-cylinder, even the turbo versions couldn't crack 200hp, and they had all the fit and finish of a Mitsubishi from the 1980s. I almost bought one, but I'm glad I didn't. However, that didn't stop me from building one up as much as I could in Forza Motorsport 4. I call it, The Golden Cock:
  21. And so, with the words of Solo Wing, the curtain rises.
