Sorry, March, same problem as before. The white near the edges is a slightly darker shade with a different hexidecimal code than normal white. What does this mean? They're not the exact shade of white, and Paint doesn't have fuzzy logic, so it can't recognize that they're similar shades of the same color. I'd still have to pixel-by pixel it. Sorry, man. I've wasted your time and to no gain for either of us.

Valkyrie Driver: While I understand what you're saying, let me point some stuff out from an engineering perspective. The pilot's perspective may differ. Well, the parts themselves are simple, and more robust than what is actually being fielded. The non-simple part is the arrangement of said parts. (And even then, the most complex parts are usually in the cockpit, where damage usually leads to the plane being non-recoverable, anyway.) The rear-facing laser isn't often used to shoot down incoming enemies. And if it ever is, it's more of a blind spray. That thing is rated to 6000 pulses per minute. More on some of the newer ones. Given, though, splitting your attention's never a good thing. Have you watched Macross at all? All VFs have external hardpoints, but the newer ones have internal ones, as well. On the VF-25, for example, we explicitly see under and overwing hardpoints in use for carriage of reaction missiles, the heaviest weapons available to a fighter.* They weren't attached to the FAST pack. First, that started this whole thread. Second, I will give you that, since it's true from all standpoints. (However, there are certain advantages.) The Ballistic Shields are made of heavier armor than the normal ECA. It's destroid-strength. Ground-pounders don't need to pay too much heed to their weight, since they're rooted to the ground anyway. So, they get stronger ECA. However, that ECA is heavier. VFs have lighter, weaker ECA. This is because they have to be light enough to fly. The addition of the Ballistic Shield was due to advances in ECA and thruster technology. Engines were stronger, ECA was lighter. However, heavy ECA was still too heavy to add to the entire fuselage. So, they designed a shield that could block hits to the torso. In the event that it is pierced, it can be ejected, as it is held onto the arm, most likely, by an electromagnetic coupling system. The flight dynamics would not be compromised by such action, as the VFs are actually designed to have parts ejected in emergencies. Gunpods, arms, head units, you name it. Only the legs (Even then, the VF-22 can) cannot be ejected. And, as was said previously, do like an A-10. Damned straight. And as VFs progressed, they actually were simpler. Sure, some of the mechanical parts weren't. However, said parts were large and easy to access. Therefore, easy to fix. Now, I'll ask you this: Have you ever been elbow-deep in an F-15? They're among the simplest, easy-to-repair fighters we've ever had. Still, though, they're a bitch to find broken parts in. Simplicity is emperor, but it's not always possible. Now, please, keep in mind I'm not ripping on you or your opinions. I am simply providing a rebuttal of facts against some of the things you said. If you are offended, you have my sincerest apologies. *This is not including the Micro Dimension Eaters used towards the end of Frontier. They were more powerful. On the same token, they were mounted in the same configuration as the Reaction Warheads.

The nose is too round.... Does it have the laser pod? *Eyes light up* It's a good VADFX-1 Falken, but it lacks some things, you know. The engines are too spindly The nose is too long Also, it's too round Where's the COFFIN? I swear, those are the VF-25's legs Finally, it lacks the signature fin on the bottom. (For the non-AC guys, it looks like the RVF-25's ELINT Fin) Some stuff I do like, though. The head unit being integrated with the airframe, for one. The unique way the rudders are in Battroid The way the maker made the legs, though rounded, fit into the the nacelle's expansion point at the back. (In AC-universe, that was part of an afterburner structure, right?)

Mr March: Sorry, you're late on the VF-1A Battroid. However, the VF-11(Battroid and Gerwalk) and VF-19(All) are still unstarted... But if you do release some blanks, PNG's the way to go. Hardest part is the pixels along the lines. Meninge: So, I'm not the only Robotech fan here... Good job. The Monster looks a bit scrawny, but everything else looks in-scale. Zinjo: There were hot chicks that didn't have to be micronized to be able to land your SDF-1 in their Macross Lakes.

Wolfman: True, and if I had Photoshop, I'd have redone the blue to its native red, but I don't. Jolly Rogers Squadron would've looked better and would've been fitting. Or Wolfpack. (Wolfpack is Squadron VF-1, for those who don't know.) Mr March: Well, I got it from your site, and it is edited by you for some of it, so... Anyway, the point is all of my customs are based on the valks on the M3. I'm working on my base copy of the VF-11(All), VF-1S(GERWALK and Battroid), and VF-19. The 3D modelled valks aren't going to be in my customs series, due to the impossibility of coloring them in paint. (Without them looking like crap...) You have the VF-4 finalized? I should probably get to work on that. The above said, I think this would be a good time to say that I do make customs for others, and if you provide me with a rendered PNG picture, I can make a VF-1 (All I got for now...) custom.
-
Well, it was just a recolor. I'm pretty sure Mr March did the original. Attached is the original (Re-saved as a PNG for quality purposes). You did that, right March?
-
Ironside: If it's against your honor code, ok. However, they are pretty accurate. I spent a lot of time comparing them to the anime, and they're pretty true to that. If everything was too short, it would explain why it all seemed too tall. Well, like I said, it is your model, and you are free to do whatever with it. Best wishes, SchizophrenicMC PS, call me Schizo. It's easier than Schizophrenic or SchizophrenicMC.
-
Well, all we can do is sit and wait.
-
Hey, I don't post here often! I don't know the rules of ettiquette by heart! Sorry about that... Ironside: I was just pointing out some stuff, as constructive criticism, is all. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I mentioned the models as a reference point, should you want such a reference. Sorry.... Mr March: I don't think I'll ever happen upon Photoshop, any time soon. If you can export them to PNG, it'd be greatly appreciated. So far, all of my customs have been of the VF-1s from your site. I, honestly, can't stand how the color contrast is so blurred together. It takes hours to make the base copy for my customs. I'm still not done with the VF-11... Anyway, thanks for the offer, and if I ever get PS, you'll be the first I talk to.

It's your model. No one's tellin' you what to do. I know where you're coming from. I always liked how the VF-1 looked in light gray. It just fits.

Te'ya this right now, if I had it, I'd be using it, instead of MSPaint. Sorry if I came off as rude. I, in all honesty, was joking when I said it. "What? Don't like the Sundowners?" would've had a playful tone in real speech. (I type how I speak. If it's something I say, it's something I type. Te'ya is a good example. Tell Ya' is shortened to Te'ya.) Well, I didn't have any high quality schematics, so... I have all 4 VF-25s from someone's YSFlight modpack. It has all 4, each with the proper texture and model, and they transform with full physics. The gunpod is even aimed. I'll point this out: there are no lower stabilizer fins on your model, the engines are too tall (and a bit misshapen), the canopy (And the slope it begins) is too low, and the thruster nozzles (Feet) are out of proportion. Not long enough, and too tall. The rest seems good though. Nose is almost spot-on.
-
I don't think there is any blank F-14 lineart... It's kind of a real fighter jet, and this is the closest I could find... All of them are pre-colored. What? Don't like the Sundowners? Would Jolly Rogers be better? VF-84 better than VF-111? Sorry, man. Took forever to find that... If I had one, I'd give it to ya, but I don't. Now, I'm no expert, but couldn't you just take it into Photoshop, splash it all white, and go from there? I dunno, man. All I got's paint.

I never saw most of 7, but I'd assume it was there, but was found to be ineffective, comparatively, to their normal tactics, as it was used mostly as a space fighter? GERWALK's original purpose was for VTOL and STOL, but was later found to be good for low-altitude strikes. If you're in space more, you don't need any of those, so they don't GERWALK it. Something that's inexcusable, though, is the lack of GERWALK Braking. (Poppin' the legs out to stop. FAST Pack Hikaru, VF-171EX Alto, etc.) In the end, I can't tell you, since I never watched it. (Rock stars flying immensly complex giant robot transforming planes with guitar controls, among other instruments, using massive speakers to defeat their enemy in space never really struck my fancy...)

March: I've got a VF-1 Wolfpack Squadron Side Profile, if you want it. Sorry, I can't find it, anymore. I'll look some more. Also, I can recognize them, easy, I just don't like the slight memory search I must do to remember which one it is... A good size reference for the valks is Iron Man. Since we saw him on the bottom of the F-22, and we know he's about 7 feet tall, it'd be pretty good. Maybe for the battroid chart, too. Vajra should be on the battroid chart, if possible. (That one vf from 7's in your fighter chart...)

I agree about the matte grey color. It'd add realism. However, they were white in the anime. Unless they were cannon fodders. I made a pic (in paint) of a matte grey VF-1A. Here it is:

He was a womanizer during Zero... He just saw Aries before we could see him doin' it! Besides, a womanizer's rep is important to him. He wouldn't go and get himself killed. If anything, being such made him better. @Mr March: Yeah, but they're out-of-order! It makes it hard to tell which is which, at a glance! Good job, though.
-
All your Vajra Queen are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction. WHAT YOU SAY?! You have no chance to survive, make your time. Captain- Launch every Valk. You know what you doing. Move Valk, for a remade Minmay song!
-
You can see where he's coming from.
-
It's from a video game, originally, so it doesn't count? There was an obsession with space shuttles? Challenger?
-
Rocky and Bullwinkle pun? Roy was pretty good in a VF-0... But, he ended up dying in the VF-1. What does that say about his piloting skills/the plane? Hmm?
-
I always thought valks were simple, although floppy during transformation. My motto: If it feels solid during transformation, it's broken, and should be scrapped. Well, keep it up, man. This, in and of itself, shows how messed up the SV-51 is.
-
Impossible transformation? You suck, Transformers fan! This is Macross, home of the most realism one can get in a mecha anime!
-
Her name is OpenOffice? Her parents must hate her, huh? Zentradi translation device: Vajra says: "And when the real thing don't do the trick, you better make up something quick! We're gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick. Barracuda!"
-
Well, g'luck, Hikuro.
