Macross variable fighter/mecha pose thread
SchizophrenicMC replied to Wicked Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
All I can say: Tooyyyyyyyyyyyy-nami! So, uh, nice Robotech Collection there. How many DVDs is that? Uh...11 or 12? I dunno... I see you went mostly legal, then. Illegal Imports FTW! -
Exactly the same here. I hate when an anime ends, because, almost always, it can keep going for a long time, if only to see what happens to each, individual character, as I'd like to see.... There are exceptions, though. Neon Genesis Evangelion, for example. That ends with the apocolypse. Frontier DYRL? better have Alto Choosing...

Koenig Monsters, being Variable Bombers, are cooler than VA-3s, being Variable Attackers. Add to that all the punishment they can take, and they're REALLY awesome, and they're space shuttles that don't blow up, as such, unlike Columbia Yes. Yes I am. ELINT is the wrong choice of words for the VFs with EWACS/AWACS equipment. I mean, the only equipment listed as ELINT on the entire RVF-25 is a single fin on the bottom. The radome and antenna array on the head unit are Early Warning And Control and Comms equipment, respectively. The ELINT fin on the bottom is used to detect enemy firing signatures, if I'm not mistaken. And the RVF-25 has the ability to control up to 3 Ghost systems. There's your control, albeit in a more literal sense. EWACS is Early (Before they hit you. Check) Warning (They're coming! Radome. Check) And Control(Ghost System, constant updates on enemy numbers, movement, and ES/CM use. Check) System. ELINT is ELectronic (Yeah, it's ESM) Signals (Used to detect enemy signals) INTelligence(Knowing where and what they are.) Though, I guess we can all agree that this is proper: Variable ESP (Electronic Support Plane). That's definitively what they are. Hobbes: "Judah System: Release!" There's your control from Luca Recon planes leave long before the battle starts Computer, analyze this data. With more sophisticated semi-intelligent AI computer systems, the RVF-25 and 171 can carry an onboard tactical AI that controls Simon, Peter, and John (The Ghost AIF7Ss) that control them, more literally than Airborne Control is taken to be.

You make me wanna make an RC VF-1 Boat... Why? The plane's been done before, and it seems Valks can float... -
Robotech and HG license debates
SchizophrenicMC replied to Roy Focker's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Y'ask me, HG shouldn't even have those rights. Macross was never Tatsunoko's to sell, to begin with. -
Variable EWACS is more along those lines. ELINT stands for ELectronic signals INTelligence. EWACS is Early Warning And Control System. And yes, yes, I did just insult the friends and families of the 7 unlucky bastards aboard the thing. Got anything else to say?

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
SchizophrenicMC replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
As you say, Graham, You can fix a broken arm (Or neck, in this case), but you can't fix ugly! My only qualm with that saying is this: You can replace the parts that make it ugly, but you can't replace... Wait a sec... -

Let me be the first to make this pun: We're on the SV-51st page. -
171, RVF-25, and any other obscure valks (Besides the VF-9) they make.
-
You make the VF 100s seem crappy, Graham... I would like to see a 1/72 27 (It was a pun, get it? )
-
We need every TV valk, 1/48 and 1/60 DYRL? valks in 1/48 Destroids (all) in 1/48 (This includes the Monster ) Koenig Monster 1/48 VF-0D VF-0 and SV-51 (All variants) in 1/48 YF-19 and 21 in 1/48 VF-11 1/48 VF-4 1/48 All existing 1/60s made 1/48 Seeing a pattern?

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII
SchizophrenicMC replied to HWR MKII's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I don't care if he's Canadian or not, I was using "Asian" as a generalization of the retcon style on the model. It's retconned, as we see with the missing and changed details. It probably is in scale with other models of the same line. Outside of that line, Revell, for example, the same does not hold true. -

No, B-wing's not that big. Given, the others are small (And the Eta-2's about right, actually... That thing measures smaller than most pickup trucks.), but the B-wing's not that big. It's big, just not that big. I'm thinking that if the others are at 1/100, that would measure 1/85 or so. Just a comparison. Not WAY too big, but too big. By the way, it's not a fighter-bomber, it's a fighter-attacker. The Y-wing is a fighter-bomber and the K-wing's a bomber. BTW, I have a 27-year-old B-wing model. It's unfinished, yellowed, and was my dad's, but it's a lot more faithful to the movie. I looked closer at your picture, and it lacks 2 of the blaster conduits. They're little things on the side of the "wingtip" blasters. Also, the bottom of the wing's too flat, and the cockpit mounting's all wrong. Not to mention all the missing panel lines and conduits, and such. Definitely an Asian rendition of an American model. Don't get me wrong, I like asian models, but they're too prone to retcon when it comes to American originals. -
And thanks to whoever invented deep-pocketed pants...

I'm gonn say... Almost, save the B-wing. That's a bit too big. Probably a manufacturer's error. -

Hm... 1/1000 scale works for me! That's 40cm, right? Even better: 1/100... -
I have hands-on experience... Just not with the toy... I'm thinking This Thread Is Worthless Without This Disclaimer: The above is somewhat Risque, and I'm only linking it, in hopes that I don't get banned for it. It's all over the place (Linked, of course) in Fan Works... Secondary Disclaimer: Keep out of reach of small children.

VF-0D, VF-11B, Re-release of the 2-seaters, all of their Valks in 1/48 scale (Bigger truly is better), all of the destroids in 1/48 and 1/60, 1/48 ARMD-01, VF-4, and work on the QC department... I'm sorry, that was a wishlist.

*Gets cousin to make account* Except my cousin isn't a Macross fan... And he hates forums... And I, also, don't wanna get banned.

Dee-amn. Keep up the good work, and Shoji Kawamori's got a successor.

The VF-0s, what happened to them?
SchizophrenicMC replied to Vostok 7's topic in Movies and TV Series
Funny thing about that: The VF-1's still in service during the Frontier Era. Given, it's mostly in reserve forces, but... -
I used a screensaver compiler program... It just gets annoying that whenever I get off for 20 minutes, working on a model or modding a Nerf Gun or playing with my Yammies, "Oboete imasu ka (Me to me ga atta toki wo)" "Saggitarius-1's been hit!" Grr... I liked the ending, but hated how non-ending it was. At least in all of the others, we know who the MC chooses... And I REALLY hate that the Frontier movie's gonna be Macross Frontier: DYRL?* (*Movie Name: DYRL?'s what I call anything that's a movie recap of the anime.)

The ESM equipment in a Recon variant is more sensitive and powerful than the standard model's. It's not as easily confused by a large number of contacts, has a larger range, and can control multiple Ghost systems, if necessary. This comes at the cost of defensive and offensive capabilities, as well as a larger sillhouette. It's my assumption that they use Radar and electric-seeking sensors. Later, in the Frontier era, it's possible that Fold Wave Targeting has become small and cheap enough for use aboard missiles. Thrust Vectoring and vernier thrusters. Essentially, a cross between a space shuttle and a MiG-29. Listen to March, as he knows the answer. And don't forget the Electronic CounterMeasure (ECM) factor. They're likely to contain ECM equipment, along with their ESM. If that is the case, Radar guidance is no longer a factor. VE = Variable Electronic ELINT is the name of the whole system used to detect spacecraft. Space Shuttle Columbia go BOOM over Texas, February 2003. I see it trailing debris and exploding... Fun to watch, not good for Variable Bomber. VB-6 no-go Columbia. ^ | Chrono so sharp.
