Considering that in space, there's miniscule gravity to begin with, what little there is is background noise, anyway. However, on Earth, there's substantially more gravity. So, the system would at least be stressed 1000 or so times as much as in microgravity. That's the minimum. Control is not infinite, as we see. Earth's gravity remains such that the SDF-1 is anchored down, non? There's no better proof than Mac+ ep 4 as it splashes down, or even when mad scientist jumps. if the gravity control were so controlling, logic dictates that he wouldn't have fallen, rather he would have been pulled toward the ship as residual gravity acted upon his body. It didn't.

IAD, you never cease to amaze. Now, it's time for one that has at least GERWALK.

Hikaru doesn't lack skill, just a haircut! The boy needs a damn haircut. Why do you think Roy didn't see the pineapple salad coming? His mullet got in the way of his peripherals!

Like I said: Voice, not dialogue However, I think it's obvious that all of HG hates Minmay. They had a chick named REBA play her, gave her a bitchy persona, and shipped RickXLisa. On that note: Minmay's a Bitch! Based on RT Minmay, not SDFM Minmay... It's misspelled. RT Minmay was Minmei, full time whereas SDFM Minmay was Minmei half the time.

Well, I take a visual clue from the launches from the Prometheus: The fighters go down after launch. This tells me that it runs in BUBBLES of gravity. So, in essence, a set of bubbles of gravity control are wrapped around the ship, and the reasoning behind catapults is to push the fighters away from the ship fast enough to clear it before being sent through a gravitational loop, thus killing the pilot when his plane smacks the side of the Macross... However, I don't think they counteract gravity, just add it. In essence, you'd be firmly anchored to the "floor", while being pulled "Down" by Earth's gravity. My advice: Stand at 45 degree angles! Also, the Macross landed on Mars in ship mode and got caught by gravity mines.

But Max was promoted out to another squadron, right?

Engine block, amazingly, only takes up a small portion of the leg... Also, considering it's a deep space cruiser, one would hope that it's airtight, therefore watertight... What I don't get is the stuff staying upright on earth. It's buit with everything on the inside of the front of the leg. Therefore, on Earth, buildings and such would be jutting out sideways. Can you say DYRL?

Idiot crashes his car over a bridge into a lake. You've got to slowly open the window to equalize pressure before you can open the door. If you just don't open the window, the door won't open, and if you open the window too quickly, the water will rush in and drown you. No, it's a drug trip. It lacks any sense of realism, even going so far as a mecha anime can get. Again, piloting a giant robot that transforms into a fighter jet with a guitar and having a gun that shoots speakers that somehow survive impacting the shell of the enemy mech and broadcasting a song through them, which in all honesty shouldn't work because you've just vented the atmosphere and the pilot's in a soundproof suit, anyway to kill them with a song is stupid. I like the RT announcer's voice. Not the Pokemon dialogue. RT ain't that damn bad, VFTF1. Watch it. Do like the thread starter. Have an open mind. Macross is better, but RT is still good. And what's with you and your rape fetish? It wasn't raped! And, TBH, if you've raped something, you've succeeded. You're self-contradictory. Harumph!, Schizo

Well, the city in SDFM TV was in the leg....

Their Incap Count is higher than their kill count. Remember Miriya shot non-lethal at the Zentraedi? Moving on, I consider DYRL? Only canon in design. Its story is not canon. At least to me. Until we have proof otherwise, (Macross Ace) DYRL?'s a moot point. S is saved for the best pilots. They also tend to rank higher. And look at Hikaru. He was still a Lieutenant when he got the Skull-1. What does that tell you? Js are sub-par, and M&M choosing Js shows their intelligence, though maybe not their skill. To each his own, and this ends now.

Macross - Weapons and Tactical Command Base
SchizophrenicMC replied to skonchboy's topic in Model kits
STOP. POSTING. NEW. THREADS EVERY TIME YOU MAKE ONE OF THESE! Dammit, they're awesome, but you should have a single, amalgamated thread for all of them! Again, though, good stuff. -
I just pissed my pants. Dude, that owns. 9.9/10

The Macross Quarter. DX Chogokin
SchizophrenicMC replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It all starts with having high school friends OT: If this isn't at least as tall as a 1/48, I'm not gonna buy it. We're being thrown a bone at the end of the month, right? -
"GO AND KILL!" "It's kill or be killed out there." "Let's get down to business, to defeat the Huns!" "Do we have any air support?" "You are the support, son!" OR "We need air support." "Negative, Colonel. All Ravens are currently evac'ing citizens or prepping for the bomb drop." "I guess we are the support, huh, Colonel?" OR "You know, the helmets have a filter. If you wore the helmets, you wouldn't have to breathe the dust!" "Yeah, but then I wouldn't be able to see snipers!" "Calm down, Dom."

I, personally, like that announcer better than the uber-annoying one in Macross. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right. lolwut? Your friends are idiots if they think that! Well, it is incredibly stupid, and at the bottom of the show's mythos. I mean, come on! A rock band piloting transforming giant robots with guitar like controls is bad enough, but then, its only weapon is to shoot speakers at the enemy and sing them into submission. Except they don't scream "Yakk Deculture!" However, I must say this: "Totsugeki love heart!"

On that note, all of the anime you pointed out ran 6-10 years after Robotech. The fact of the matter is no anime survived as it was in the 80s. It was the westernizations of SBY, SDFMSDFSCM (AKA Robotech), and such that gave America its first little taste of anime. We knew it was Japanese, and we knew it was good. You kinda have to slowly open the window a crack to equalize pressure before you can open the door, and if you don't, you'll regret it as the door doesn't open and you're sinking into the lake, cursing A) your own stupidity and B) The poor construction of the bridge you were on a few seconds ago. You go back to the 80s and try to bring an anime over as-is. You won't succeed. It was enough of a culture shock when RT was broadcast. If they had just broadcast Macross, everyone would be severely confused. Moving on, I will never be able to blame Macek. He is a victim of circumstance. As to all of the people nagging at me for VAs: I like the Japanese VAs more for the Japanese, and the Robotech (For the most part) VAs for English. If we're going Japanese, Kamiya is Focker, but in English, Woren is. I also like the Robotech theme, but prefer the Macross theme.

Didn't he mention winning a bunch of contests in the years preluding SWI? I think Hikaru's a good pilot. Given, he's no M&M, but he's still pretty good. Besides, M&M never got 1S.

Hey, just 'coz you're better at drawing doesn't make you a better geek! Star Wars is my forte, though. Ask me just about anything relating to Star Wars, and you'll get an answer.

It doesn't matter. In 1984, when the contracts were signed, Tatsunoko (Some say illegally and most say wrongfully) gave HG the copyrights to all Macross properties, present and future, outside of Japan. Perhaps it was outside of Asia, but I dunno. Essentially that means if you live outside of Asia, the closest thing to a Macross toy you can legally own is a Toynami. Screw legalities, this is America! I will import what I like. I don't know about how strict customs is in Germany, so... One week? Wow... If HLJ gave that kind of customer service, I'd be pissed... Then again, it could be because it was one week between ordering the parts and receiving them. If it takes Overdrive one week to respond, normally, I'm stickin' to HLJ. Though, if it is one week between order and reception, that is good.

Dan Woren is still more Focker to me than anyone since. And, for that matter, so are Rebecca Forstadt, Tony Oliver, and Richard Epcar for Minmay, Hikaru, and Kakizaki than the ones in the ADV dub... VIC MIGNONA DOES NOT GET TO BE HIKARU! I HATE THEM!

I can't remember whether it was the compendium or the M3 where I read that they have Fold Drives, but no navigation equipment, thus rendering them worthless.
