Exactly. Movie UMDs were always locked so anyone who imported that version knew what they were getting. And movies were locked due to invested interests of large movie companies and had nothing to do with Bandai Namco. Similarly, the games were always region free. It's the same with the PS3. PS3 ames are region free but DVDs/blurays (and PS2 games in launch models) are region locked (although many publishers choose not to lock their blurays regardless).

These are the sole exceptions out of thousands of PS3 games, both of which had English versions due within weeks of the Japanese versions and therefore wanted to prevent importing. Neither were for games with no foreign release (like Macross 30) or by Bandai Namco (like Macross 30). There is no way in hell that Macross 30will be region locked. But hey, if you dont want to trust the guy who actually works in the Japanese videogame industry, then wait until it comes out and see what others are saying.

Amazon DOES ship internationally and always has. The ONLY THING it won't ship internationally is videogames. Therefore Blurays are fine. -

YAMATO 2199 to air on TV! (in Japan) The official Yamato 2199 website announced today that Yamato 2199 will be broadcast on TBS and MBS on Sundays from 5PM starting this April - the first time an original Yamato tv series has aired in 33 years! http://yamato2199.net/news.html Also, Chapter 5 will hit cinemas on April 13 :-D

While I've yet to read the whole chapter, I have to say I'm skeptical. After waiting months for more FIRST we get...a prequel chapter? The lack of direction to the manga, the constant delays, plus comments from Mikimoto indicating that he doesnt know if it will even get to episode 27, let alone material after that point...I'm more than a little concerned for the future of the title. But hey, at least Fortissimo had some Lovely Bomber ;-)

No news in the print version of Famitsu today (given the lack of news to report on due to the end of year break, I wasn't really expecting any) but the game does get a brief mention due to a survey/contest that has some valk models and Macross BDs as prizes. One of the questions on the survey piqued my interest: 'What sort of Macross games would you like to see in the future?' Is BandaiNamco fishing for ideas for the next Macross game AFTER Mactoss 30? Perhaps. Well, remember all the resistance that Shron put up against Isamu when he was trying to get to Myung? With Sharon having indirect control over Captain Wilder via brain washing, I'm not surprised at massive amounts of ordinance being thrown at whatever approaches the Quarter.

Only 5 days until launch. Have subscribed since i think an extra 30 issues of content is worth it, however the fact that they've added 'Episode Sheets' is a disappointment. they did this for the reissues of Evangelion Chronicle and and added them to Yamato Fact File as well - basically an episode by episode description accompanied by screenshots. In other words, a great space filler/waster. Hopefully the other new content will be worth it. And heck, its Macross so its not like NOT buying it is an option ;-)

Not to answer on jvmacross behalf, but those issues are from the Hiroshima-only limited test print run. They were sold only from bookestores in that area and only for 10 issues. As such, I recommend you wait for the official weekly release of this new edition (therefore available via online retailers as well) from Jan. 15. http://deagostini.jp/mcr/

Aaaaaand....Episode 7 is UP! http://www.macrosswo...7-bag-of-orgus/ Musicalture, FB7, Macross 30, concerts, the VF-4G... this end of year spectacular was so big that we needed an entire Firebomber-themed ROOM to record it in. Of course, none of this answers the question of just what exactly Renato got up to....
