    To elaborate for those who aren't aware, LINE is the most popular mobile instant messaging in Japan at the moment. Part of the appeal comes from being able to buy stamps of popular characters and mascots to chat with. Like really fancy emoticons. Today saw the release (FINALLY!) of a set of Macross Frontier stamps for 200yen. (Thanks to Gubaba for breaking the news!)

    Some spoiler-free thoughts on the movie. The movie was good if not what I was hoping for. It really does feel like an extended episode, a 'one more adventure' more of the same, as opposed to anything really new. As such, it doesn't really set up ANYTHING for potential sequels. Drags on the middle and the main bad guy is a dumb ass. They also try to retcon a certain returning character from a total dick in the series to kind hearted but misunderstood due to a tragic past kinda thing that didn't really sit well with me. The major battles that bookend the movie are awesome though and obviously have a bigger CG budget than the series did. So ultimately, a fun romp while it lasted, but essentially more of the same and honestly a bit underwhelming. Oh, it also has Klingons, Photon Toroedoes, and space hotels.

    The Klang could very well have a soft g (ie, the clanging of a bell) in which case there would be no difference in the katakana between Klan Klan and Klan Klang. Have said that, I've seen it spelt 4 or 5 different ways in various publications and events, so personally I'd take whatever the official settings docs say it should be, regardless of the technical romanization. Your mileage may vary though.
