    The Bandai Hi Metal-R has been put on display at the Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom. Interestingly, it's gone up in price by 2000 yen since it's showing at Wonder Festival just a few weeks ago (25000yen→27000yen because tax has been included).

    Some highlights from the first in what is going to be a weekly series of Internet talk shows by the Macross Modellers consortium. (Surprisingly, it wasn't region blocked either :-) We had over 1300 people tuning at at one point - a great start to this new Macross boom ＼(^o^)／ Not a lot in the way of news this time since it was an introductory episode, although they did show the colored VF-31 from Bandai's Mecha Collection series for the first time (the coloring hasn't yet been signed off on by Kawamori so is subject to change). Also, that 1/20 scale VF-1 is gonna be huge! Also, Jefuemon is a ninja :-p

Tasked with selecting members for Delta Squadron, which carries out operations together with Walkure, he has assembled a group of pilots that are highly skilled if somewhat idiosyncratic. He was previously a member of (New?) U.N Spacy.

    Hey Arbit, your contribution was great! Hope you'll be up for a similar post-mortem podcast when Delta finishes. As for the ladies - as I've said on the cast, I know far more female Macross fans than male ones - and none of them speak a word of English, sorry ^^;. You and me both! Funnily enough, I've found that among younger generation (late Gen Y and Millenial) of Macross and anime fans in the West, Macross Plus gets quite a bad rap. That generation is more used to longer, tv-series length narratives and (anecdotally speaking) they tend to find the plot and characters of Plus to be shallow and/or lacking. It's interesting the difference that a generation can make in the way people view a title. I actually had a conversation on just this topic with two older Macross fans I met a couple of weeks back on separate occasions which I'm saving for a future podcast (won't be the next one, but will be included somewhere in the next 3 eps at some point). Both expressed the exact opposite of your opinion, interestingly enough. basically, that there are more entries in the Macross franchise have gone out of their way to shock and surprise fans by being completely out of left field, than there are entries that didn't. As such, they felt that the greatest way a Macross could fail would be to cater to fans and be exactly what they expected. They thought that surprise should be a part of a new entry at this point. Interesting difference of opinion imo. Thanks for the kind words! It's great that we are starting to get more feedback (and hopefully more listeners?) as delta approaches :-) Speaking of which, I'm trying to decide how best to cover Delta when it starts. Personally I think that a weekly podcast would be too much and am leaning towards an Delta-only podcast every 4 episodes or so (with potential non-Delta podcasts in between as news requires). Thoughts?

As a pilot, has a lot of pride for her profession however she is also rather serious and inflexible. Due to her personality she has yet to experience romance. Mirage was a pilot in (New) U.N Spacy before being scouted by Arad for Chaos.

    Welcome to Macross fandom. Maybe people will start listening to what the SpeakerPODcast has being saying for years now ^^; Oh, and for the record, this isn't JUST limited to the female demographic (although they are the majority) - I've also come across a male Macross dancer (kind of a beat/hophop kinda thing) as well as a Macross stand up comedian at various events in the years that have passed since Frontier. And I wont even get started on the fan-bands, ranging from amazing Plus covers, to people singing while dressed as Valkyries, or the official Macross pub crawls/singles parties.

    Well, as we have pointed out on the podcast again and again for years now, the largest segment of Macross fandom today is the teen to late 20's female demographic. This isn't a demographic that Delta is aiming to create, it's one that exists and is what breathed new life into the franchise. So naturally things that the largest demographic like will make it into the show. Is that such an alien concept? Don't make something that won't interest your largest demographic, the one that keeps the franchise and ground roots culture vibrant. For example, here is one of the newer Frontier fans that's popped up on YouTube recently. This is the face of Macross fandom as it has been for almost a decade and as it stands today.
