Those decals for the 1/1000 Yamato come with the UNCF Fleet set 1.

Never mind. I thought it was all from the same sequence where the Yamato fires at point blanc range but the damage is inconsitant. Probably Dietz or even Dessler himself if Zoellick is to be believed.

I'm guessing it's Domel. That would explain why he only uses the command section for the Rainbow Star Cluster battle, because the rest of the ship was blown apart.

A glimer of hope for those who, like me, have been wanting a proper artbook of Yamato 2199. SBY2199 Official Cells has been announced for a May 30th release. No details yet on price or number of pages. Before that, on April 10th, SBY2199 Guide Book DVD comes out, costing 980¥. This seems more like a magazine type thing, with a DVD with interviews and some promo material, geared to support the TV airing that starts a few days earlier, on April 7th. http://www.mag-garden.co.jp/yamato2199books/index.html

Indeed, the kanji read Mirai, but the hiragana spell her name as Miki, as does the official site html adress, so i guess that is her actual name. As for her part in chapter 4, she takes Yuki's station in episode 14, while Yuki is out, much like Yuria did in episode 5. She appeared in episode 7 too. She was a class mate of Kitano and is a good friend of his.

The All Stars and JAM Project will perform the end song for chapters 5 and 6 and the new opening for the TV release. The song in the chapter 4 episodes is "Kioku no Mirai (Light of Memories" and is sung by KOKIA. My possible translation of the color chart Top row: "- Red Body Parts: Shine (Glossy?) Red 100% - Silver Body Parts: Silver 100% - White Body Parts: White 100% - Black Body Parts: Black 100%" Bottom Row: "- Yellow Body Parts: White 50% + Orange Yellow (?) 30% + Yellow 20% - Gray Body Parts: Gray White "Ming" (Light or Bright) 70% + White 30% + a bit of "Heavy"(?) Black (guessing just a tinsy bit that doesn't even read as 1% XD ) - Missile Parts: White 90% + Neutral Gray 10% - Tire Parts: Flat Black 100%" I'm guessing the designations used reffer to the actual sprues (as the missiles have red in them but those are probably in the Red Body Parts sprue), As to which paint brand these reffer to i'm guessing it's Bandai Color. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Yes, the Cosmo Falcon is a new addition to the Mekacore/Mecha Collection line. As are those original Tri-Deck carriers that came with the Yamato and UNCF Set . Set will apparently bring a Yamato Resurrection type Cosmo Zero (or at least that's what i make of it) while the Garmillas set comes with a Reflex Sattelite. The downside of this line is that it doesn't have a specific scale set so you end up with all ships (at least on the original line) having the same size. The Reflex Sattelite however seems to be in scale with the 1/1000 ships.

I really wish they had gone with the same type of decals they used for the Macross Frontier kits. We had a set of water decals and a set of the same markings in sticker form. These were quite thin and easy to apply. As someone who is a noob with water decals, those stickers were a godsend. The end results were awesome. But here, with only the water decals...i'm afraid...very afraid i'll ruin them.

I'd rather have a set of smaller figures (HGIF like) of the main characters than just the 5 girls. Even if these do look stunning.

That is the UNCF Fleet Set 2 which includes 2 of both Murasame and Yukikaze class ships, with the color paterns depicted in the pictures. This allows you to have one of each class and color schemes present in the episode 1 battle. Of course that if you want to make a complete set (there were 21 ships in that fleet) you'll end up with a few spare ships. These sets are all in 1/1000. The only other models announced are the Cosmo Zeros which are 1/72 scale and the Cosmo Falcon released with Dengeki Hobby wich doesn't have a precise scale (the Cosmo Zero on the right is perhaps in the same line, named Mecha Collection). As for the craft on the left inset, it is part of the UNCF Fleet Set 1 and, supposedly, in 1/1000 scale. It is not a Cosmo Falcon, those came with the 1/1000 Yamato, but rather a Type 100 Scout Plane, as seen in episode 1. It can be stored inside the Kirishima's hangar, which can be displayed open or closed. The craft is slighly too big but if they had made it to perfect 1/1000 scale it wouldn't have any of the tiny details it has this way. As for the decal set you either wait for YC to restock, print the DIY decal sheets that came with Dengeki Hobby, Paint the detail yourself or dive into the auction circuit. Microscopic is the correct term there. Good luck, if it comes to that. I'm almost done with the UNCF set 1 and with minimal paint (which i like to avoid as much as possible due to my lack of skill), used only in small touchups and details and some weathering, the ships look quite good. The Yukikaze is tiny, about the size of Megahouse's Cosmo Fleet figure, about 8 cm long. But that is where the comparisson ends. Detail wise, the ship looks awesome, despite the small size. Kudos to Bandai for the excelent work. The Murasame looks great too but it is the Kirishima that steals the show. A nearly perfect representation of it's onscreen counterpart, with some weathering in the right spots she looks beautiful. Limited funds made me hold on buying set 2 since it's basicaly the same ships with diferent colors (and i don't really like these paterns). The Gamilas (or Garmillas, if you will) set 1 is on its way and if the set i've built is any indication, i'm in for a real treat. The one thing i'm dreading now is the decaling. I'm a noob with decals and i expect the worse to happen. XD I'll let you know when they're finished.
