It does. Just don't expect it to stay attacched if you shake the valkyrie around. Otherwise it stays on ok. The added weight does stress the feet articulation, though, so be warned: the Fire could fall backwards if you don't find the right pose.

original edition lacked the VFX Ravens pilots, for example. I hope this time around they are in.

I guess I'll have to answer my own question. For those interested: the new edition has the Stampede battroid in full colour (previous ed. had it in b&w).

The way I see it, the only way to fix things would be for disney to hunt down all existing copies of Ep I-III and utterly destroy them. And do the job well. That is, they should find a way to make videotapes, digital copies and so on just evaporate like, uh, by pressing a button or something like that.

Thanks to both Tochiro and Sketchley for clarifying. I guess I'll wait for some more issues to come out and see if the Tenjin artworks are worth the investment.

Since I must decide if I'm so crazy to buy chronicle all over again, I'll bump my question for those of you who already own the new edition: are there many previous b&w images being given colour in the new publication? could some gentle soul give some examples from issue 2 & 3? Thanks a lot!

Quote " the VF-11 was planned to become the protagonist's fighter craft. However, the idea was washed away because of the reason that it would be difficult for the VF-11's transformation mechanism to be turned into a toy. The design for the YF-19, the protagonist's craft in "Macross Plus", was appropriated and the VF-19 was created." Sure, and we all know the 19 was sooooo easy to reproduce in toy form that we finally saw a decent one in 2011. And it still leaves something to be desired (fat anime magic legs, I'm looking at you). These tidbits are comedy gold. Thanks for translating.

That's good news. But... is there enough stuff to make a new tankobon so early?

That's what I tried to do and that's when they broke! Yep, that part. The two side hatches were open, it was just soooo damn tight it flew off as soon as I tried to lift it. Anyway, probably I used too much force and the suggestions you made will come in handy for my 17S when (if) I ever need to transfrom it back to fighter.

Cockpit: tried to open it after transformation to insert the pilot, it was tight as hell and altough I used extreme care, the hinge finally snapped when I was almost done. Landing gear front cover: more or less as cockpit, only it snapped as soon as I tried to open it. Fortunately, they (apparently) both stay on even if they are broken - I tried to "fly" the 17 inside the room and nothing fell off.

Grrr, yesterday I tried transforming from battroid back to fighter and ended up breaking the cockpit and front landing gear opening mechanisms : (((( On a brighter note, my 17D is MUCH tighter than my S in all modes, and that's (breakings aside) a plus in my book.

Along with the VF19S head. I was hoping for some more b&w re-colored pieces, but judging from the pics I've seen (from ebay) it seems the only new one in issue 1 is the SDF1 from the chronology sheet.

I'd be happy with just a VF0S 2.0 that doesn't explode or becomes floppy.

And besides, I DO still prefer its chunkiness. Love to display my v1 25F. I'm hopeless, I know. -
For those of you that have already the new issue #1 in hand, does the reprinted pages come with more colored art (as shown in the first timeline sheet reviewed somewhere in the thread)? If yes, what sheets get the new threatment?
