That VF1J is gorgeous
-
Brr, this new valk is ugly!
-
"Macross Frontier Music Clip collection Nyankuri" hands down. One of the trashiest Macross productions of all time. The CG girls inserts were particularly ugly and out of place.

Some pictures?

Official 1/100 BANDAI Hi-Metal VF-1S Valkyrie with Strike Parts

well, Hikaru WAS much smaller than Fokker (thin, 1,70 cm teenager vs muscular 2m man). So for once they did it right -

I should have been more specific: I think the HI-Metal looks way better in battroid, but Yamato 1/60 has an almost perfect fighter mode (pilot positioning aside). Since I much prefer battroid mode to fighter mode, HI-Metal wins (for me). I agree that it's overpriced for its size. -

1S in the review page looks gorgeous. It may be smaller, it may not be "perfect" transformation (I personally don't care a thing about it), but it looks so much better than 1/60 Yamato. Being a proud owner of a HI-Metal 1J, however, I must say that Bandai cut some corners on this new VF1: apart from the high skull on the chest, they did not color the upper part of the "underknee" (in the 1J it's dark grey as the lower part, in the 1S it's white - see pictures) -
I don't like DYRL all that much either, both as a Macross title and (especially) as a stand-alone movie. MPlus movie on the whole is still the best theatrical Macross rendition to date

I guess the word "irony" is lost to you, but whatever
-
Well. brainwashed humans simply awoke, and protodevlin: 1) fell in love 2) were annoyed to death. Truth is, in fact, that he merely crushed their ability to listen (to his songs). Since he didn't bother stopping and they were not able to hit him with guns, only thing to do was to run away.
-
1) you should run out and buy this comic immediately. you won't regret it 2) main TV story followed but with tons of subtle and many not so subtle changes. All in all, absolutely refreshing experince without losing the original appeal 3) Yes, 1S head appeared (apparently no changes, but if Roy is going to die like in DYRL - and I hope not - then we may have a new head somewhere down the line) and 1A appeared too, DYRL style.

I love the Hi-Metal series, but the skull emblem on the chest plate is way too high. -
And head, which is comletely different

In North America and english-speaking countries like UK, Canada and Australia this is due mainly to a lack of "dubbing culture". As far as I know, in general movies from abroad are presented with subtitles (which is perfectly fine), so dubbing is really something "new" for those countries. That means that, not having a 50+ years of practice in the field like, say, Italy*, there is still much to do before dubbing in America comes out with things that don't make you cry in shame. * top notch actors and professional dubbers are generally involved in anime dubbing.

I fainted just by looking at the first picture.

Oww, that gap is gonna give me nightmares (but then again, I like the current YF19 battroid mode, so...)
-
Don't forget Roy!
-
Oww, CG Sheryl is even worse than CG Agent Smith...
-
Yeah, I noticed that too. They are not present in the Bandai HI-Metal (and, despite the scale difference, Yamato has to beat it before calling this a successful 19 iteration). I see pilot hatch opened, too. I hope this comes with a cockpit-Basara and a standing Basara with guitar

Any new images of the Strike 1S? I'm curious to see how the head turned out. -

Speaking of which, this is what you get with Ozma's Armored PAck. I'm the worst of modelers, so this is really a recommended kit. Plus, seing it "grow" piece after piece is a lot of fun. Vifam7 was also right when he said it looks good on all modes. It does. And costs far less than a DX, too.
