I'm still working on alpha 2... is it just me or does the game seem particularly hard? I somehow get the feeling that either I'm not levelling properly or I'm not blowing enough money on upgrades...

Thanx for the suggestion! I pulled the RAM and GPU after I made the post, and no beeps, so I'm guessing either mobo or CPU. I'll try resetting the CMOS when I get home today. How would I test a faulty power supply though? Plug stuff in to see if it breaks?

I wish I didn't have to do this, but I just wanted to get a couple of opinions before I went past the point of no return. I hope the mods are feeling merciful today! For some reason my keyboard was acting up when I got home from work (the "enter" key was replaced by "o" for some reason...), so I proceeded to reboot the computer. Except it wouldn't. After windows shut itself down, the computer rebooted, and nothing. Screen blank, fans whirring, HD spinning away, both power and HDD activity LEDs on, nothing happening. I shut down the computer, pull everything out, put everything back in, and still the same thing: Screen blank, fans whirring, HD spinning away, both power and HDD activity LEDs on, nothing happening. The computer wouldn't even POST (no beep, no floppy seek), so I can't access the BIOS. I also tried booting with the windows CD to no avail. I'm certain it's not any of the peripherals, since I've swapped out my DVD, burner, and HD to test, and the same thing still happens. That leaves mobo, CPU, and mem, which I don't have spares of so I can't test those. The last time this happened I replaced all three (thank goodness for overnight delivery!) and the computer happily POSTed and booted up. This time I have access to a notebook, so I just wanted to see if I could find any other remedies before I "upgraded" my computer again. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm willing to try any folk remedies, since I really don't want to part with my oh-so-expensive RAMBUS setup

How do you guys manage to keep your Saints in their respective poses? Mine seem to be cursed with floppy joints and won't keep any pose other than standing straight up, heels together... I suppose I could put them all in parade formation, but that's just so boring

I restrained myself to EVA 01... cause I'm waiting for the Aquarion SOC that should be coming out soon 01 is pretty good though, good posibility, lots of weapon options, and you can also go into berserker mode with it! I just wish they had included the S-core...

Is the series worth it? A bit hairy about splurging all that hard earned cash when most turn based SRPG series don't differ too much, especially for the Japanese challenged...

Well, while we're all waiting, you might wanna give the the HW: Macross TC a try. It works on the first Homeworld and basically replaces all the player controlled units with stuff from Macross.

"When it's done"? Compare progress shots of the SDF-1 and you'll get an idea of how the mod creeps along. Not that I'm complaining, the modders are real ppl with lives, so we'll just have to wait. In the meantime, if you liked the story arc in HW series, take a look at the Dust Wars mod, supposedly the modders there are basing the story on the Dust Wars docs that Relic released. It'll be the last "official" HW storyline product, since HW3 isn't happening anytime soon (read: never). BTW, wasn't there a request a while ago for ppl to help out with weapons balancing? Anybody know what happened to that? Modders?
