My D and J are fine. I have a broken hatch on the nose cone for the hip bar but it arrived that way and I haven't heard of anyone else with that problem. Waiting on Overdrive but I am very happy with valks.
-
Now that is cool.

I think it will be fine. Remember that I think they listed the SDF-1 as coming out sometime next year. I would hope that by the end of 2010 the economy has recovered somewhat. If it hasn't the SDF-1 is going to be the least of ours and Yamato's problems. Edit: Oh and I think we will get the Spartan. It's just going to cost more. I would bet $10-$30 more.

Why Should Expensive Macross Toys Be Transformable At All?
logos replied to Cyclone Trooper's topic in Toys
If you want to keep the box and store it in the box more power to you, I was just stating that "I" can't stand to let them sit in a box, it ruins my fun. I didn't buy them to sell them 10 years from now (at least I hope) or to just stare at the toy in a box and go to my friends uuoohhhh....drool look at those cool graphics and fonts oh and there's a toy in there too! For me it's like buying a corvette and letting it sit in your garage and polishing it with a diaper. I JUST CAN"T DO IT. Also being like a corvette I never let my friends touch them. The first thing they ask is "How do I transform this?" while waving it around...... Like I said I only keep the boxes because I lie to myself and others saying I am saving some of the toys value by not tossing it cause I might want to sell that $150 toy someday and make a mint ....... maybe 5 years from now I'll just sell the boxes to all those people who tossed theirs! I might get rid of the boxes but I'll never get rid of my valks.....hmmm will they cremate you with a bunch of plastic toys? Anyway back on topic, like I said before it's not a Valk unless it transforms so it loses that coolness factor. Like takatoys said transforming makes it like 2-3 toys in one. If they released a really cool and detailed version of one mode maybe but then why don't I just pay some modeler to put a kit together or do it myself? -

Wizatars review is up for the VF-25 Micheal and the fast packs. VF-25M Fastpacks from VF-25M -
If you look at the pics the head mechanism is the same so you should be able to put any head from a VF 1/60 on it.

Why Should Expensive Macross Toys Be Transformable At All?
logos replied to Cyclone Trooper's topic in Toys
Personally I can't stand to let a toy sit inside a box and never be let out. It's a toy, if you don't handle it AT LEAST ONCE to admire and tinker with it and then put it on display what's the point? Otherwise you are just making what will mostly likely turn into a shitty investment. I don't really play with my valks but I do have the urge to transform and repose them every couple of weeks. Then I sit and stare at them and think how great Valks are and how work sucks......... Keeping the boxes is just the excuse I tell myself that I am making an investment when I spend $200 plus on a Valk........ ....... one of these days some one is going to notice that huge collection of boxes in the corner and make me throw them out. I also collect some Mcfarlan dragons and Halo toys. My real hobby is my collection of SF/Fantasy novels and when I was a kid my collection was a room full of GI Joes and Magic Cards. Oh and to answer the question: It ain't a VF if it don't transform! -
Now we just need a release date. Man I'm so busy buying these V-1s that I can't seem to get around to buying a VF-25...damn the VE and VT are going to be worth it though.
-
The second they process your order OD charges you so yes.
-
Overdrive has the VT-1 available for preorder now - $144.99US - PreOrders are due by May 6th for July release. http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/produc...roducts_id=1360

No bonus. They just cut back the hours on the union workers where I work. Well at least they didn't lay the off. Anyways I will buy a VT-1 but I am just going to have to wait a couple of months. Thank god I got a good tax refund this year! Oh and I new the tires where coming I was just putting it off as long as I could. Which just happened to be just after I decided to preorder a bunch of Macross stuff and some books......I guess I'm finding meat overrated lately compared to my hobbies.

God I love collision errors!

I don't mind the complaining, after all if you bought a $90+ toy and the shoulders broke you have umbrage (yes I've been waiting awhile to use this word! ) . What I do find annoying is the "haters". You know the people who say "Of course it broke it's a Yamato!" and "That's what you get for buying a Bandai." for example. I don't mind people pointing out flaws but to universally disparage a toy because you don't like one or two things about it....... I don't like the stupid landing gear or the gunpod attachment on the Bandai DX VF-25s but that doesn't mean I'm not buying one or going to bad mouth the entire line because of it. My 1/60 Roy has 2 broken shoulders didn't stop me from buying a VF-1D, VF-1J 1/60 and a VT-1 when it comes out. I guess the point I'm making is that people get too hung up on these things. It's like 360 and PS3 fanboys and I find it tiresome. Now to get back on topic, I can't wait for the VT to come out but considering I just spend a cool $1000 bucks to replace the tires on my truck (tread was showing early signs of separation so I had to do it) and I bought a VF-11B and 6 of the new Yamato stands this week..................no VT-1 for me or any Macross toy for awhile ....or meat...
-
If you have the bucks get a YF-21. The sticker shock is horrible but the toy is awesome. Also I would check out getting a V2 1/60 VF-1 and checking out Macross Frontier (if you haven't already) and pick up one of those. As soon as the VF-25 gets re-released in couple of months I am so picking on up.

Yeah you defiantly have to push it down a little bit harder than the other v.2 1/60s. Initially I thought it was because you have to move Hic's arms a bit to get him into the cockpit but that's just the way it is....
-
Well I hope these are good cause I just broke down and ordered 6 from Hobby Search. Here's hoping I didn't just make a big mistake!
-
I just wish that it had come out a little bit cheaper. But I guess they can't use the super parts from this one on any other valk.
-
These stands are supposed to be strong enough for VF-1 1/60s right? Can they support them with super parts? EDIT: Never mind I'm an idiot I found the picks on the first page of this thread that showed it can...... I was thinking of buying 6 and set then up like in this pic (left side) but all in fighter mode except maybe 1 or 2: Then I would set the arms at different elevations (start at the bottom going up and buy the time I complete the circle comback down and hit the bottom again). EDIT: Anyone ever made an international order from Hobby search to NA? If so how much was shipping on your order and did you end up paying duty of any kind?
-
I see Hobby Search has the VT-1 Super Ostrich on sale on their website with picks: 15,010 yen / 149.67 USD / 111.01 Euros http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088020

Personally I would say get the VF-0 but that's just my bias as I like how it looks allot more like a Gen 3-4 fighter. That front cockpit section on the VF looks awesome. They both turn into a floopy mess after a while so buy which one you like more.
-
............Oh my........... ............want.............. ...........couldn't afford it all................ ..............I would never be allowed in there because I would first steal a pallet mover and then proceed to ransack the place. All the while screaming hysterically at the top of my lungs "Gotta catch them all! HeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHeHe!" Seriously though if I had access to something like that my will power would go out the window and I would be eating boiled shoes for a loooong time. I think sometimes it's a good thing a have to mail order everything. Although with all the money I would save on shipping.

I have those Palldiumbooks too hidden under my 7 tons of Rifts books. Although my discovery of Macross came from Macross Plus and Macross II when they came over here. And then I learned why Robotech sucks in comparison...... Oh well if it wasn't for Robotech I would have never gotten into Battletech and bought all those Palladium books (I serious when I say I have allot of them). FYI Nothing makes bookshelves sag like a Palladium game collection!
-
Yeah I kinda doubt even though they are that expensive they are probably NOT road certified. Still if anyone buys one of these and can fit it on their heads please post picks with your favorite mode of transportation. I have a size 8 hat head so finding helmets that fit sucks, so even though I'd love to I won't buy something like this that won't fit my head......
