4chan funny thing is I haven't posted one quarter yet of what I scavenged from there I doubt they're made by the same person but you never know As you've been told already, it's the Kira pose, meaning something like the twinkle pose -
Very interesting Probably goes to show that every NMC is unqiue. Should we really be calling them ships instead of cities in space? Of course they're both but what city is identical to another city in every aspect... heck so far even the NMC battle carriers we've seen have all been different from each other in some way. Imagine with each new ship, new innovations or design changes take place, each time resulting in something different from last time. With frontier and galaxy being new types alltogether (though you can argue the island cluster class is a progression of the NMC, obivously) it makes me wonder if any other fleets after 21 were new designs as well or yet more NMCs...

Do you think we'll get a second season of Macross Frontier?
VF-25 Messiah replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
I dunno, I kinda have my qualms with how final episode was handled... mostly, the transition from episode 4 and 5 (was it originally meant to stop at 5?). Tthe whole "then the bad guys suddenly turned up and grabbed the head of the birdman... and stole our women too!" flashback at the start just kinda reeks of production people going "ok, they've pulled the plug on this one, wrap everything up in this episode". So I would add directing issues to the problems it has... (though, frankly I can't think of any others, really)...didn't mind the rather surreal ending, the "magic" or the "retcons" the show introduced... I do remember liking it less on my first viewing of it, but subsequent ones have left me less confused by what was going on. Now with frontier airing and having tie-ins with it, I'm only likely to like it even more -

As far as I know, no ship in Frontier has been seen using them (Machida punches aside). Of course absense of proof is not proof in itself. When Frontier itself came under heavy fire a barrier system reffered to as "Repulsive field" was used. Not a PPB since it covered the whole vessel, but seemed different from the ODB of the Macross as well (not exploding when its limit is hit).

1. You're saying I should prove you're as bad as her, by finding posts of you doing something that she allegedly does. I can say I don't find her to be guilty of this, and I'll just contend with that you're not doing it either. But you insist that she is in fact doing it, then it should be you who bring about the evidence. 2. I've no doubt you will find posts you feel prove this if you decided to. But, having read said posts myself (there's like 5 of them?) I already came to the conclusion that I feel they weren't. So we're going to be stuck there. I say we just leave it instead?

So wait, I can't compare you because you're admitting yourself to be as biased as you claim rubi to be, just because you did infact admit it in a signature? Okay... And since your bias is towards Sheryl, it'd be more fitting finding posts where you've completely misinterpreted her character... Oh, but this only applies if you assume rubi did this with regards to Ranka. Of course you, being admittedly Sheryl-biased, is likely to feel so. However other's might not, just as they might not feel you're completely misinterpreting Sheryl's character either. All in all, I don't think the comparison was too unjustified.

Sounds like someone else I can think of too

I agree with you on the control thing. I believe these crystals inside of Ranka are the so called V-virus. Several people, among them medical students I believe, stated that those looked like viruses with small micro crystals on them. It seems likely that Ranka was created/modified after birth/infected with the V-virus by the 117th fleet as means to control and/or communicate with the Vajra. Ranka's voice/singing has: 1. Caused Vajra to retreat. 2. Rejuvinated an incapacitated Vajra. 3. Caused attacking Vajra to disengage. Earlier I believed Vajra to be biological weapons based on the Birdman, that Ranka was a descendant of Mao and had a role in controlling them like Sara would control the Birdman in Zero. Though later developments has me leaning to them being their own species, and that 117th fleet was researching perhaps even experimenting on them. Maybe what ticked them off in regards to humanity in the first place?

"beetle queen" or "little queen"- words in episode
VF-25 Messiah replied to Misa's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well reading this japanese forum thread has more or less sealed the deal I think, unless this Repent fellow comes out says his claim is also supported by subtitles (not likely, seeing as he seemed to have backed down instead, wondering if it is indeed little, he can't check since he hasn't got his recording anymore), I see no way around it being little anymore. I'll be the first to take this back, when one of them does say he has broadcasted subtitles that say beetle instead of little, but until that happens... But I have to agree, that they're arguing about this even on the japanese forum Regardless, wether it is little queen or beetle queen, makes no difference whatsoever as to how it affects the story. Beetle because the Vajra are bugs, Little because Ranka is small compared to said bugs. The implications are exactly the same, so I don't see how that guy who mentioned the line from the deculture preview fits "Beetle" anymore than "Little". -
Lol, or Super Dimension Cinderella Zero!

Form of civilian government in the Macross Universe
VF-25 Messiah replied to dreamweaver13's topic in Movies and TV Series
My interpretation of that part was that there were NUN regulations regarding the use of Reaction Weapons. The NUNS general is requesting permission from President Glass to use Reaction weaponry in accordance to a special clause in these regulations. This is where frontier differs from Macross 7 in that Glass has the power to give that Permission. Max had to get that permission from a central headquarters, like you say. This suggests that Macross 7 was not the autonomous fleet that I'm sensing Frontier to be. I smell a reform happened somewhere between 46 and 59. (While I'm not at all familiar with the VF-X game series, I seem to recall reading posts that events there could have led to such a reform... could someone with a little more knowledge confirm this?) -

Upon viewing the deculture edition of episode 1 again. When Sheryl is about to board frontier you hear Howard speaking to Cathy over comlink. He tells her if anything were to happen to Sheryl, it'd turn into an international problem. (Between frontier and galaxy most likely?) While not much to go on, the keyword international does imply that fleets could be viewed like 'nations', and that Glass is not "Head of state" of at least some other entity (Galaxy). Thoughts? -
