the 未来 spelling is also meant to be read "Miku". As a normal word it's read mirai, meaning future, but when it comes to names several readings are possible. The wiki that lists 未来 the specifies that the reading is "Miku". As to which Kanji are the "real" ones... -

Macross Frontier Plot Theories...
VF-25 Messiah replied to Kronnang Dunn's topic in Movies and TV Series
Got the vibe that first step was "being essentially in control of the galaxy" which Grace retorted by saying that they're thinking about the step AFTER that. So could be anything really. In keeping with the EVA mentions, Human instrumentality project? -

Ranka's infected by the V-virus. It's the virus we see breifly in ep 14 that has microsized foldquartzes in 'em. It's what causes her to emit foldwaves whenever she sings, so it affects the Vajra directly. The phenomena is why Grace and the others call her Q1, the "little queen". -
If it's unrelated to subs why ask it in the subs thread? And I think the number is kind of up in the air now. It was believed earlier to be 25 episode because of the number of DVD volumes that are going to be released, but the episode count per disc seems to recently have come into question. (4 eps per disc as opposed to 3 eps per disc)

Given the fact that they have different last names and look nothing alike, I'm inclined to say no. I think I somewhere heard that L.A.I. supposedly stands for "Light Aircraft Industries", but the correct answer probably is "it hasn't been revealed yet"

Actually, unless Michel also got a promotion, they're the same rank now. Michael still has seniority though. -
Who is going to die in Macross Frontier???
VF-25 Messiah replied to taksraven's topic in Movies and TV Series
That was me. Jun Kanno, 金野潤, is credited in episode 14 for the role of Pilot (パイロット) and again after episode 17 as NUNS pilot (新統合軍パイロット). Someone else pointed out that he also appears credited for the Teacher in episode 16 (教師) -

Macross Frontier Plot Theories...

Grace and the Galaxy Anonymious are out to turn the Frontier fleet into a Breeding ground for Vajra, for the purpose of harvesting Fold quartz from them. The events that led up to the battle in Ep 14 was for the purposes of having Frontier go all out and use up their trump cards at an early stage, rendering them defenseless against the Vajra in the long run. Grace and the others would then still be able to keep the Vajra in check by using Ranka's singing. Guess that's it for now -

I agree. We know Ozma used to be in the NUNS and I'm thinking his assignment with 117th fleet was probably his last. I think Bilra was probably quick to pick him up after he resigned from the NUNS, he's an ace pilot and has experience facing the Vajra which has to have been rare. The flash back 10 years ago is when they're just moving into their new home, something that was perhaps made possible with a very generous first paycheck from joining the SMS. -

Which is the best biological weapon?
VF-25 Messiah replied to RedWolf's topic in Movies and TV Series
Zentradi, were the weapons of the protoculture, what they would use to fight their wars. Makes me wonder if they were always intended to be in such huge numbers when they were conceived, or if 500.000 years of automated factories pumping out ships and clones has anything to do with it... Whatever the case is, the galaxy has several of these main fleets numbering in millions of vessels in the galaxy. Strong and reliable, they make up for their various shortcomings by the sheer numbers they can field. Protodeviln, what you get when you take the zentradi mk. II, aka the EVIL-series, and have them possesed by interdimensional "soulvampires". More akin to demigods that need to feed on others to survive. Arguably the individually strongest, they're few in numbers and repelled by song making them quite a wild card. (Or they learn to appreciate said song, thereby learning a way to solve their feeding need, and will then promptly desert ). Birdman, seems to be a protoculture "cleanup" device for civilizations that are developing in an undesirable direction. An impressive weapon in itself, it probably spells doom for whatever civilization that sings the song of destruction. Likely not much of a threat on the galactic level. Vajra, the new kids on the block. Have powerful weaponry, regenerative abilities and can 'evolve' to adapt against foes. We still don't know much about them, where they are from or how many there really are of them. Need to know the latter especially. Individually much stronger than zentradi, but probably weaker than a protodeviln, their ability to evolve new defenses against attacls would potentially pose problem to the former. The zentradi however can still batter at them endlessly with countless weapons, so unless they achieve 100% immunity they'll eventually be worn down. Question is how many would the Vajra be fielding?
