Because it is those around him that has to have character development not Basara. In terms of protagonists Macross 7 and Macross Frontier are polar opposites. Though he is saddened by the loss of life Basara does not give in to negative feelings. Alto easily gives in to this thus is easily manipulated. Basara recognizes all living beings. For Alto if it does not have a human genetic make up it is them or us. It is hard for Alto to make that leap of faith. Basara has plenty of that. No but the VEFR-1 did. Which had the same functions as the DYRL VE-1. Episode 27 the Bodolza attack episode. The VE-1 and the VF-1 Strike Fast Pack may be seen as non-canon but the VT-1 and the DYRL Macross ship are canon. VT-1 being civilian versions of the VF-1 and the Macross Refit and subsequent Macross Class are canon as per Macross Flashback, Macross Plus, Macross Dynamite 7 and Macross Frontier. Only the revamped VF-1X Plus Super Valkyries which is virtually identical to the VF-1 A and J Super Valkyries are seen in the canon games.

Since I've heard Macross Generation definitely not that as it deals with Macross 9. Macross English Anticipation Manga is another possible source. Never seen or read that one.

Zentradi lost a lot of knowledge through the centuries. Heck they didn't know males and females can co-habitate and you know... do stuff. Warera, Rori and Konda don't have a clue what a Protoculture was till Bodolzaa told them. Also in Macross 7 the only Zentradi that had a clue on who the Protodevlin were is Exsedol. I doubt Zentradi were also indoctrinated with their creator's religion.

I most likely think those would be the planets which were trouble spots wherever Isamu Dyson got assigned. Really the guy is a trouble magnet. Remember Bandai Visual had the option of bringing over Macross 7 but they'll have to pay an exorbitant amount for the music. Same rule probably applies for Macross Frontier. Big West can push it if they really want to expand their market there. HG depraved as it is would want to stop it as they like to really hang on to their nitch market.

Well by the same extension HG can't name any new production Macross because it would definitely cause a lawsuit that they would lose. Besides HG can't make a decent production if their lives depended on it. Their marketing machinery sucks as well.
