You'd think they wouldn't need one more residential ship. But I take it Macross 7's population increased if the Varauta and Macross 5 colonist survivors decided to join. From the impression of Sheryl liking Frontier and the description of Galaxy being a chemical plant ship with shanty towns is that Mainland is the main ship and there is no City ship with a dome. Indeed in flashbacks Galaxy is either sterile or has bleak atmosphere on it. Not as sunny and Earth-like as City 7 or Island 1.

Well what's under the hologram makes it a Macross Plus homage. Sharon Apple overlaps with the Macross but is semi transparent. Battle Galaxy makes full use of holography to hide it. Which makes me think a combination of stealth technology and holography would probably be version of a cloak.

The captain of Galaxy called their ship Mainland. Now the reason why Battle Galaxy was shown not in the Galaxy prologue montage is that when it set out it did not have a NMC Battle ship at the begining. Meaning initially it could have been the same variant as Battle Frontier. Now NMC Battle ships being assigned to non-City class ships may have a precedent in Battle 13. Battle 13 was called Macross 13. Indicating perhaps it did not protect a City class ship. If Macross 7 has shown us anything there are colony ships whose size rivaling the City class. Also in a recent revelation of SK some fleets utilize Zentradi ships as colony vessels instead.

Well that doesn't make sense as Macross 1 launched in 2031. Unless Macross Galaxy later got the Macross 21 designation later when they got Battle Galaxy. Functionally Macross Galaxy mainland is closer to a Megaroad without a docked Macross. There is no evidence that Battle Galaxy docks with Galaxy Mainland.

I suspect most of the excess weight goes to the gunship. As Battle Frontier's gunship has features that Battle 7 did not. The others go into extra beam cannons placed all over Battle Frontier. Battle galaxy on the other hand has bigger guns on its shoulders.

I believe I've figured out the length of Battle Galaxy. It is exactly the same length as Battle Frontier, 1,681 meters. Also where that excess 171 meters is in relation to the other ships of their class. As we know Battle 7, Battle 5 and Battle 13 are 1,510 meters in length. But Battle Frontier and Battle Galaxy is longer. Look carefully at Battle Galaxy. There two sets of deck protusions. Up to the inner set is the regular length of a New Macross Class. The outer set is the excess 171 meters. It isn't that Battle Frontier and Battle Galaxy are bigger than Battle 7, Battle 5 and Battle 13 their deck is longer.

Here's an interesting thing about the Baseship. The original modern Basestar render has 852 Raider launch slots. The reconned Basestar has 434 Raider launch slots. While Baseships do have glass jaws they rely much on missile and fighter superiority. The Galactica has at least 4 squadrons of 20 Vipers each. Around 80 vipers. The Pegasus had 10 squadron of Vipers making it 200 Vipers.

Mao was pretty much dead before Sheryl got to the streets I'm sure. If there is equivalent of Grace O'Connor in Sci-fi it would be Cavil of NBSG. In the novelization Grace considered Mao like a mother but she felt Mao was always taking Ranshe's side. Now we know Grace has a few loose screws. It wouldn't surprise me if Sheryl was orphaned due to the manipulation of Grace. Also making Sheryl forget her early life other than the streets. Twistedly taking the role of a savior for poor child only to stab a dagger at the opportune time. Whatever ill feelings she had for Mao and Ranshe she took to the children. As evidence by turning Brera into a cyborg, infecting Ranshe as a sample and using Ranka.
