    The NUN has Reaction Weapons and MDE under their pillows just in case. Indeed if we go by the Varauta Flagship carrier specs and Earth brass standing orders to deal with Lost Zentradi it is that leave no witnesses to bring word back to Main Fleets. Zentradi at least is a known element. Terrans has been caught flat-footed with the unknown. Such as messing around with Protoculture relics that now their response blow it up with MDE. Having lost fleets to Fold Faults. Or plagues taking out emigration fleets. The Protodevlin and Vajra came out of nowhere. Politics are also a factor. There are Zentradi rebels, Earth Supremacists, Windermerean supremacists, and Cyborg supremacists. Meanwhile arms dealers are making a buck off war.

    Going by DYRL Terrans are likely also thinking Zentradi and the Supervision Army would they would drag them into their conflict making them to chose sides. As Terrans do advance their technology and has influenced some Zentradi to do the same. NUN should be thankful Quamzim from Macross 2036 and Eternal Love Song isn't here as he brings Main Fleets with him every time he isn't killed. Edit: In the Modern era all Supervision Army is assumed to be of Zentradi stock as they are all giant. Heck going by Macross 7 Exsedol dismissed the possibility the Varauta were Supervision Army as they were using VFs. Their terror tactics or color scheme certainly reminded him of something. It was close as it their bosses the Protodevlin who were leading them. Angers 672 in Macross the Ride usurped command of the Lactence remnant Faces seeks to use the Protodevlin Heritage Factory Satellite to brainwash all of humanity and bring further conflict in the galaxy. We might assume the Protodevlin and by extension their thralls has brainwashing equipment stashed to replenish troops. Fasces was abducting crews to add to their troops. Taking a page from the Protodevlin playbook.

    As far as we know, no. Space is big and in any case I imagine Terrans and their allies make it their priority not to get into the crossfire. The closest Terrans got were their bosses the Protodevlin and two wrecks.

    Well all of Macross is Metafiction. Frankly it could go either way. However Macross 7 depiction of its movie had Max and Milia's wedding in DYRL Meltran uniforms and the treaty with Vritwhai as Miclones. From Miho Miho and Sally's comment the whole Protoculture city appears in their movie. But Berger Stone in his history explannation depicts Altira having once existed and the source of the song Do You Remember Love. Originally sung by Star Singers. Mikumo under Roid's control sung Do You Remember Love in the original Protoculture language in Passionate Walkure. Which suggest genetic memory. Similar to Mayans being genetically manipulated by the Bird Human has genetic memory of the Protoculture or "Protokulcha". Or how Zentradi feels when hearing Do You Remember Love's tune make them feel instinctively nostalgic for culture.

    We have to note though Xaos was not hired to fight Windermere but to perform Anti-Var operations. As it is viewed as an epidemic. It just turns out Windermere weaponized it. With help from Epsilon Foundation. It just so happens the Tactical Sound Unit this time is from a private company not government or military sponsored like Sound Force, Jamming Birds, Milky Dolls, Sheryl and Ranka. SMS does not have their own Fold Receptor Idols in the payroll. Xaos actively recruits them such as the Thrones and Walkure. But it is kinda hit or miss. Pirika in Macross E was the only one effective to calming Var among the Thrones. One of the Thrones, Blau Bloom, can actually make Var worse. Some people's biological Fold Waves like hers are more of the mind control effect like Tina Accra from Macross 7th Code, Chelsea Scarlet from Macross the Ride or Heinz. Of the original Walkure two had to retire due to PTSD. SMS does have optional equipment like Fold Amps for Deculture operations just that they do not have an active Fold Receptor Idol on the payroll.

    The only common area where SMS and Xaos both operate is the Laramis system where Sephira is. Sephira is mentioned a bit often that I think it is vital in connecting NUN territories. Discovered, terraformed and colonized in 2033 by Macross 4. Isamu stopped there before jumping to Eden. Sephira's Hyde City was the battlefield between VF-X Ravens and Black Rainbow. VF-X2 has the MC travel between frontier planets in missions and within Sol itself. Leon Sasaki folded out from Sephira to Ouroboros. Also in 2059 Sephira was attacked by Lost Zentradi. Messer was supposed to transfer to Xaos Laramis system branch.

    It think the Dimension Eater was originally a Macross Galaxy innovation. And leaked the tech to LAI in turn. NUNS probably has an idea how to weaponize into a WMD Fold Quartz but it was Macross Galaxy that was crazy enough to use it on a A class biosphere. Fold Quartz has been known to exist since 2043. Critical Path CEO Manfred Brando used it for his Sound Jamming System in 2050 to 2051. Macross Galaxy blowing up Gaul 4 dashed Windermere's economic ambitions. Their war of independence was really about resource independence. And to get out of their Mutual Defense Treaty they keep complaining about. Boo-hoo! We only want to protect Windermere why should we stick our necks for the rest of the cluster? Our lives are too short!

    Not to mention Spiritual Bodies are a thing in Macross. It appears when people Fold-in and Fold-out. I suspect the Miclone Chamber creates a new body and places the Spiritual Body in it. There are Space Fold shenanigans going on.

    Is that even an injury? His clone brother Ogothai has the same implants. In the Macross Frontier novelization adaptation it mentions Richard Bilrer micloned himself following the Vajra in a VF-1. In the anime he just sighed with a picture of Minmay. Richard Bilrer also had an eye implant. DYRL Meltrandi explicitly has cybernetics yet can presumably go Miclone. Sylvie Geena of Macross II had a Meltrandi grandmother. Then there is the case Klan Klang. How the hell does the Miclone chamber turns her always to a ten year old? Which begs the question if Moaramia who was a Zentradi child soldier that grew as a teen miclone will revert to a giant Mini-Me when she goes big again? Her clones are specifically made to pilot cramp Variable Glaugs.

    We have seen Space War I veterans fight in wars decades later. Timothy Daldanton fought in the Second Defensive Battle of Macross City in 2030 and was killed in 2051. He still looked young. Naresuan on the other hand was a commander type. Besides being a veteran of Space War 1 he was also a veteran of the Varauta War. He was killed in 2058 in Macross the Ride. And he was friends with Richard Bilrer. Exsedol Folmo is a living institution. He looked like an old man in Spade War 1 and he still looks like that in Macross 7 and Macross Delta Zettai Live!. Upon giving birth to her seventh child Milia looks visually identical to her daughter Komilia. Her berserk button though is being called auntie/grandma. Oh dear Basara can just tell how old she is. Then again she is a known hero and politician. Chlore who is Milia' contemporary acted like a teen fangirl.

    Contact with Humanity just gave some Zentradi ideological causes. Both Richard Bilrer and Naresuan believe the Children of the Protoculture should be united but their methods are different. Richard Bilrer seeks to use technological innovation to make the galaxy smaller. Naresuan subscribes to the supremacy of Earth and that all planets and fleets should follow it in a centralized galaxy spanning government if need be by force . Then there is Timothy Daldaton who did serve in UN Spacy but turned against it when it became clear it is being used to abuse Frontier planets. Thus subscribing to autonomy.

    The Supervision Army Ship that was encountered as Factory Satellite capture operation was happening was determined to have been attacked by ships that escaped Earth. So yes that didn't stop the Zentradi who encountered Terrans. Chlore's fleet only got second hand information about the Terrans particularly their signature of transforming their ships into humanoid form. Zentradi protocol after the Main Fleet Commander is killed is scatter and regroup with another Zentradi fleet. However they will likely be considered contaminated by their brethren.

    Well Max and Milia's intention contrary to the wishes of Earth's brass to destroy Chlore's fleet was to get a peace treaty with them. Perhaps even an alliance. Her fleet has an estimated 97,000 ships. Most Zentradi ships we've seen post DYRL in the Kawamori continuity are Male Zentradi types. In Macross VF-X2 Vindirance had a fleet of Meltrandi LSTs and a Meltrandi Flagship in its ranks. Macross VF-X2 was about the Second Unification War (2050-2051) between the Earth Supremacist faction Lactence and the Pro-decentralization faction Vindirance. Basically Macross' version of Gundam's Titans War. Vindirance won. Macross the Ride novelization attribute this event as to why UN Spacy is now called New UN Spacy or NUNS. Lactence remnants still use the UNS kite as a symbol. My theory is that Chlore possibly loaned ships to Max and Milia's daughter Therese Jenius who is the leader of Vindirance under the name Maria Fokina Barnrose. The agency serving as oversight for VF-X Special Forces after the war was called the Barnrose agency. It is said Maximillian Jenius supported Vindirance. Also note Ernest Johnson and Gramia were participants in this war. Ernest Johnson got the reputation Commander of a hundred battles and a hundred losses but no crown due to joining the losing sides of this war. First the Zentrandi rebel group Black Rainbow and later Lactence. Gramia was at the side of Vindirance flying a VF as he sees he is fighting for Windermere's independence. After the war Ernest Johnson became an advisor to Gramia before dismissed when Windermere's First Independence War against NUNS in 2060.

    I'm more of the opinion the technology behind Myung's personality being the basis of Sharon Apple's personality is more significant. We know at least the first generation of clones were copies of reliable personnel as they were parentless. Later generation of clones had actual childhood. We know at least one of the conspirators Manfred Brando created a digital copy of himself prior to his death. If we go by DYRL lore Meltrandi are Cyborgs while their Commander which is the Mobile Fortress itself is an AI. I suspect there is some existential crisis in some of the clones. Marge Guldoa looks and sounds like Maximillian Jenius yet went full Mad Scientist. He sought a form of immortality through his creation. If so some seeking Transhumanism think it is the answer to their existence and worth. Cause when you think about it some of your clone brothers could become presidents such as Howard and Serge Glass or end up like as a cabbie. What looks like Howard Glass was driving a cab in Frontier. As for the Sv series particularly the the Sv-262 when Dian Cecht bought Sv Works from General Galaxy former Anti-UN manufacturers teamed up with Sv Works to make the Sv-262. Epsilon Foundation has a nasty habit of supplying individuals who are bit broken in the head. Ivan Tsar, Gramia and Cromwell.

    In terms of the setting it seems much of it is not at the Orion arm but the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way. Vajra territory was around the Vilos cluster corewards. Elysium in Macross VF-X was at the Sagittarius arm as well. It had buried Mobile Fortress. The Brisingr Globular Cluster was rimward of the the Sagittarius arm. Sephira and the Laramis system has been mentioned several times. Macross VF-X2, Macross Frontier side story had Isamu stop by before going to Eden. Sephira and Laramis system may be in the way of Ouroboros and Brisingr Globular Cluster. Basically the Sephira and Laramis system which it is in the Macross equivalent of Anchorage, Alaska as a stop over.

    It can actually fit given the breakthrough was before the Evil Series was at its final test when they were possessed. The Bird Human was likely made concurrent with the Evil Series. Besides the the technology behind Fold Quartz was likely distributed. It is safe to say that the Protoculture had multiple weapons projects. At New Asia UN Spacy was messing with tech left behind and made Giant Bugs... That fires beams. That sounds familiar! And it was 18 years before they made First Contact with the Vajra in 2040. Considering the Protoculture were Vajra fanboys yeah...

    Guys you have to realize the Protoculture had another name for their government besides the Stellar Republic, the Galactic Empire. And the armies of Clone Soldiers and Super Weapons is starting to make sense!

    There are different narratives given by Protoculture AI. The Bird Human which facilitated the experimentation and observation of Terrans would've destroyed them if they proved to be an aggressive species reaching space flight. This was even before the Protodevlin came to the scene. The conflict was just between Protoculture factions. The Survey Ship that brought the Bird Human was destroyed thus no record of Earth. The Ruins of Rax gives the narrative the Protoculture was at peace till they colonized space and they hoped the Subraces they created would come together in harmony. Especially the Zentradi. On Altira on the other hand states the Protoculture tried to rebuild their civilization but war always follows them.

    It would not surprise me if surviving Protoculture left for another dimension. They have the technical capability to hide structures in Fold space. Then there are the girls the Protoculture tend to leave in sleeping pods such as Mina Forte. I suspect Mayan and Windermerean folklore involving the pilot of the Bird Human, Roy Waka, and the Star Singer are either Protoculture or Biological Androids that married with the natives. Roy Waka is said to come from the neck of the Bird Human. My guess the head unit. The DYRL version of the Protoculture Civil War states the Protoculture resorted to cloning for reproduction. There may be a mix of truth there are all natural born Protoculture and artificially produced Protoculture.

    Algus Selzer was a damn success story. After finishing his education he joined General Galaxy and became one of its lead designers. Having a hand with the VF-9, VF-17, and the YF-21/VF-22. Incorporating Zentradi technology like the Inertial Vector Control System, the precursor to the Inertia Store Converter, to AVF. Well we can presume they at least made a treaty at least. Macross 7 encountered Chlore's fleet during the Varauta War. So no they are not part if that fleet. I only imagine the political nightmare of Earth with that scenario. I always had a suspicion that the Meltrandi ships that made up the Vindirance fleet came from Chlore. According to Macross Chronicle Glossary Therese Jenius is the real name of Maria Fokina Barnrose. The Glossary also said it is rumored Maximillian Jenius supported Vindirance. Rather than attack the Meltrandi as ordered by Earth brass Max tried to negotiate. Earth is giving Max near impossible orders to deal with threat with zero support from them for both the Protodevlin and Meltrandi. I can see why he became Pro-decentralization. As those on Earth are out of touch with situations out there.

    There is a reason why the Protoculture chose to keep Zentradi education at elementary level. Give them proper education not only can they maintain their gear but build their own. The cultured and educated Zentradi can spread their knowhow to their uncontaminated brethren.The Variable Glaug was made studying the VF-4. The Feios Valkyrie got UNS worried as it was basically a 4th generation equivalent after mutineer engineers brought with them the YF-11/VFX-11, a 3rd generation VF, to Zentradi. There is also that combiner Battle Suit in Macross M3 made up of an Air Battle Pod and two drones. Macross VF-X2 had the Gjagravan Va land weapon. There is also that Battle Suit in Macross Plus OVA beginning. Macross VF-X had those upgraded Regults and Glaugs with Stealth features. As well as this ship. Anybody got a name for it?

    Wait... Rechecks.... Ok I got confused a bit. The VA-3 Invader Attacker mode has more in common with a Destroid. (Macross Chronicle Mechanic: D7 Etc 02B VA-3CKai Invader Kai) Also Macross Galaxy has the VA-3M Invader in its arsenal. One thing you can say about Macross II it didn't skip on new Destroids. At least NUNS affiliated Battle Pods got upgraded. With the Type-104 and Type-106 Regults and the Super Glaug. Though the Neo Glaug bis is also a thing. There is also the Qudadluun series of Battle Suit.
