*Destroid Work takes offense at that.*
-
I meant Glorie as in context of the Super Dimension Calvary Southern Cross. Epsilon Eridani system and the Proxima system are both occupied by humans. In Glorie's case it was the homeworld of the Zor. In Babylon 5's case it is where the Great Machine and Babylon 5 is situated. I'll just post this tribble at Space Battles.
-
Stable time loops and the Circle. Now you are giving an idea for a SDC Southern Cross x Babylon 5 crossover tribble. Since Babylon 5 is set in the same system as Glorie.
-
Macross 7 has construction custom versions of Destroids. A construction version of the VF-1 was shown in Macross Dynamite 7 episode 2.
-
The first one is a SDC Southern Cross mecha.

At least with Michael Bay with Transformers he honestly said he'll lie so to keep fans on their toes. With HG they lie, accept the lie as truth or else... Not to mention a difference in work ethic. Michael Bay didn't stop production just because of the WGA strike. HG will repeat their statement of there will be something till they gradually lose Robotech fans and interest. Transformers movies has already made hundreds of millions of Dollars. Robotech LAM and Shadow Rising still zero progress.

Well if they do a sequel as I said the Macross 7 series protagonists (Basara, Mylene, Gamlin) would likely be relagated as secondary characters. Also if we take Macross 7th Chord as canon Project M will always be there scouting new artists. -
In real robot anime the mecha doesn't count (unless it some special one of kind or a prototype i.e. Gundam). It is the ace or the pilot with the character shields. In the very first episode of Mospeda Legios with their Threads were being blown left and right. If you want to present video evidence of VF-11 performance I refer to you Macross Plus OVA episode 1 prologue where Isamu takes on rebel Zentradi. Also the manly death of Kiryu in Macross 7 episode 26. Also as of Macross VF-X2 game the VF-11 with Protect Armor is equipped with nukes for that extra capital ship bang.

I suppose they have a census database. It is Earth after all not some backwater colony. His hometown, the only one who remembers him is the geezer who plays golf. Nothing on his folks. I don't think even Ray realizes he had met him before till he invited him to form a band. (He was drunk) Veffidas certainly remembers him as that odd guy singing after she put down (literally) a suitor of hers.

According to Macross Compendium Millia was 15 during Space War 1. Max was 16. Despite his looks Gamlin is 19 years old. Basara was both their senior at 21. Oddly Miho Miho is older than Sally Ford. Miho Miho is 23 while Sally is 21. Millia got me confused on the age thing when she tried to hook Gamlin and Miho Miho. I thought Miho Miho was younger than Gamlin.
-
Well remember around 35 years ago they went into a severe depopulation plus Millia was married when she was 15 years old.
-
Yeah they placed them all in one floor.

Well at least DYRL, Macross II and Macross Plus (OVA) was broadcasted. Not to say all 90's kids are ignorant. At least here HG can't pull their dickish moves of banning Macross toys. Unfortunately most of the toy stores today cater more on the Gundam gunpla fans. You can get Macross toys at special hobby shops in an architectural maze known as Greenhills. (I always get lost in there. )

So you'll be thankful for nBSG season 4 despite the mindfraks. That it is better than camp BSG 80. -
Generational but that depends on how net savvy and a geek you are. If you are a real geek you'll recognize Macross more. Here's an anecdote. I was at my college's common lounge. It is not uncommon to see someone play anime or toku on their laptop. I was doing my own thing chilling. Someone was playing Macross Frontier episode sub on his laptop. I heard someone in the audience say "Oh Robotech". I was like I wanted to be a straight man in a manzai comedy. The thing going through my head was... "Chigau! Zen Zen Chigau! Robotech ja nai!"

Marketing to local stations. It did make it in South America too. The plus point is that you don't need Japanese translators. English is a more or less an international language easily translatable. Here in the Philippines during the late 80's either the stations hire Japanese to English translators and English voice actors for super robot or real robot anime or they import for syndication already English translated anime via US companies. Hence my first experience of Macross is Macross not Macross as Robotech. Frankly as a kid I wasn't into the whole love story plotline of Macross. Which is understandable as I was six or seven years old. But I do like the VF-1. I had Tansformers toys, I had the Dairugger XV version of Voltron and there is the VF-1J toy. I liked it because not only because it is transformable but also not a brick. You can move its legs and arms. Which shows how innovative Shoji Kawamori is in designing. Plus it was an analog for the F-14 Tomcat. I like the Tomcat. Then came the early 90's with Robotech was syndicated in a local station. I was like... Why are they calling Macross Robotech? It was obvious to me when I saw the two other parts of it that it was a patch up work much like Voltron. The patch up work was terrible. At least WEP showed some effort with splicing scenes, one crossover movie and an original third season with Voltron.

Caprica! Dynasty Meets BSG
RedWolf replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
With nBSG and Caprica Ronald Moore tried the hard sci-fi approach not the pop sci-fi the original did. It is a hit or a miss. Especially with the whole God did it. Till the final episode we didn't know when nBSG was in relation to our own. Before Battlestar Galactica came to be Glen Larson's idea was basically Noah's Ark. In the original concept Earth was doomed Adams was this Abrahamic Noah father figure to the ship carrying what is left of humanity. The idea was carried over to BSG after the craze that was Star Wars. In nBSG the metaphorical flood happened already several times. Thus this has happened before and will happen again. With two common things happening. The technological development of artificial life and resurrection technology. Similar combinations of the event every two thousand years. When the 13th tribe left the 12 tribes of Kobol 4000 years ago. Kobol and Earth got blown up roughly the same time 2000 years ago. The 12 Colonies repeating the same damn thing. -
Then Macross M3 game came and introduced us to an unknown before adopted daughter, Moaramia. Think of her personality as a mix of Mylene and loli Klan. At least there is an excuse why she wasn't around when Mylene was born. She is a Special Forces pilot assigned to another ship.

Caprica! Dynasty Meets BSG

To me more like why the Cylons have a Pinochio syndrome. It does expound the reason why Cylons wanted a human form and the human experiments in Razor. -

Kinda like Macross Plus was in relation to the rest of its franchise. Well it is given that Adama and Graystone will clash. There is hint in nBSG on what Joseph Adama will become. He wasn't remembered as that "Mob Lawyer" but that "Civil Rights Lawyer". I don't think we'll see the Cylon War till the end. This is about what the Colonies are before. The Colonials well...hated each other till they got a common enemy. Plus we got that the Centurions were intended for inter-Colonial conflicts. -
I'd place The Galaxy is Calling Me post Rax, Fleet of the Strongest Women too.

I do wonder what that brat is doing in 2059. He should be around Ranka's age.

Don't forget Knight Rider where he carried over the Cylon LED effect for Kitt's scanner. Every attempted sequel of Knight Rider couldn't get past season 1.
