Macross Galaxy is a corporate controlled fleet. Meaning it isn't run by a democracy. Its Executive Board were largely responsible for the actions of its forces. Seeing that they want everybody connected and controlled to their hivemind they wanted the Vajra as a tool for total domination. As for Megaroad 13 as far as we know it only founded a colony on the Varauta system on 2025. Decades later Protoculture ruins were discovered on the ice planet. The Varauta Research fleet was ordered by Earth UN Spacy to investigate. In my understanding it was a black project that they sent an adviser, Ivane Gyuntar, to lead the expedition. Two years before Macross 7 the Varauta colony was taken over. What is startling though like the 117th fleet the loss of the colony was covered up. Not the first time they did this it also happened with Megaroad-01 when it disappeared.

SDF Macross as far as I know had two mechanical designers. Shoji Kawamori and Haruhiko Mikimoto. Mikimoto designed the Zentradi mecha. Macross was to be parody of Gundam in way but they threw that idea out. As you can see Kawamori created then later refined the Valkyrie.

That and if Earth became a militarized culture they would have the same pitfalls as the Protoculture did. Besides from what I understand from Kawamori's interview the money to build these emigration fleets come from the private sector. If the military had too much power over the civilians Kaifun would've been proven right. It is the civilian culture that saved the Macross. With the Macross the people got a taste of living in deep space. And there is no turning back from exploring the galaxy.

Since only a chosen few do become them. As stated they more associated with ace pilot. The whole reason for colonization was overpopulation yet as we've seen in the Gundam trilogy what overpopulation? There is hardly any people left on Earth. Most of the population is supposed to be in colonies yet I don't see these capable of housing billions. (Yeah yeah my complaints with inconsistency.)

Char Counterattack is mentioned. Also a legendary ace pilot who had a Haro, Amuro. Amuro died saving Earth in CCA. Note the Viste Foundation is against the establishment of another Zeon. (Really anything with Zeon involves genocide.)

The revenge driven culture of Taurons seemed so surreal. You realize Cain is a product of her culture. Interesting stuff about the Colonies is that they have already an interdependent economy. Scorpia is the financial hub while Libron is where international colonial courts are. Again Arelon is the bread basket of the Colonies. Zoe dancing with the tech hints a potential ally for her. Damn with Sam messing with Joseph. Guess he really know his brother.

The reason I call them mercernaries is that DD Ivanov and Nora's group are likely a Lost Command group. Hostilities between the UNG and Anti-UN Alliance formally ceased in Jan 20, 2007. Yet in 2008 there is full scale battles around Mayan island. Lost Command are a faction which a rebel leadership ,in this case the Anti-UN leadership, has lost control of. (Or make it look like a Lost Command for plausible deniability.)

That statement of Nora is dubious at best. Reverse engineering and development of Overtechnology was spread around the world. As implied by DD Ivanov the technology belonged to the world. OTEC was a conglomerate of various companies and research institutes. The Anti-UN had its own Overtech fighter in the MiM-31 Karyobin in opposition to the UN Forces' F203 Dragon II. By 2009 as seen in SDFM TV Overtechnology has already reached the civilian sector. The Anti-UN we saw in Macross Zero is just a well funded mercenary group. By 2007 the Anti-UN alliance was already defeated. Macross Zero is set in 2008.

Officially Vrlitwhai became UN Spacy supreme commander in 2016. Interestingly there is a contradiction in the VF-1 Master Files. According to VF-1 Master Files Vrlitwhai became the commander of the Megaroad-02. Alternatively in the DYRL-Macross II timeline Vrlitwhai was the UN Spacy supreme commander in the PC Engine games Macross 2036 and Macross Eternal Love Song. Fending off fleets that Quamzin brought home. Max and Millia separated briefly due to job presures. Max was the military leader while Millia was the mayor/president of Macross 7. They got back together by the end of Macross 7. Though demonstrating ahem... Culture to the Chlore Meltran fleet may have helped. After all these year both are hot for each other. Max and Millia had seven children and one adopted naturally born Zentradi daughter. (They shot her down, micloned her, and brought her home ) Note that Macross 7's government is different from Macross Frontier. Where military and civilian leadership have equal authority. Oh in the DYRL-Macross II timeline Max and Millia had Komilia much later, 2019 instead of 2011. Komilia was the protagonist in Macross 2036. She calls Vrlitwhai uncle.

Hopefully Kaifun's genes aren't part of the cloning repopulation program.

As of 2059 Lt. Gen. Kim Kabirov is the commander of the Earth defense fleet Macross 13 during Grace's brief invasion of everywhere using the Vajra. By everywhere I mean every NUN planet like Earth and Eden to the farthest emmigration fleets such as Macross 11 (Where Kaifun lives) which is around the galactic rim. Grace controlled the Vajra fleets right at the Vajra homeworld which is located at the galactic core region.

Which still brings the question... Are they still brainwashed or not? Currently there several mysteries in Macross. 1. The current state of the Protoculture. (With the fate of Sara Nome and Shin Kudo) 2. The fate of Megaroad-01. 3. The Supervision Army. The other two for the sake of the mystery itself would likely not be touched upon. Here's hoping in a future Macross production the Zentradi Army-Supervision Army war would be shown. Though the whole point of the emmigration plan was the survival of the human race and its culture. These conflicts involving multi-million ships and mobile fortresses would be avoided like disease.

Marathoned this Super Robot series two seasons. Happy ending reunion ending for Go and Anna in the epilogue. The only sad thing for me is that the "family" didn't totally reunite. Lou became a full fledged renegade for the loss of Ken and her father. If Ken had lived he would've been a craddle robber like Go. (Considering Lou was a loli at the time ) Lou didn't manage to fully mend bridges with her new family. In a way Go and Anna were her new parents. Lou did join them briefly for that Tripple Drive attack. So what do you guys think about this series?

From what I've heard the SDF-3 was blown to pieces hence its current angular look. Originally it was the twin bow organic look in the abandoned Sentinels cartoon. Yeah not much foresight.
