Just read this off the glossary at Sketchley's site. Jamming Sound System A Spatial-Temporal Resonance System developed by Manfret Brando, the president and representative director of the Critical Path Corporation. It is radio wave jamming equipment that was put to use and developed from the latest transmission equipment, which uses a hyperspace resonance crystalline lens. It directly interferes in the equipment by inducing spatial-temporal resonance in the computer. When used, a peculiar music streams from it, and guided ordinance is dis-empowered. (Source: Macross VF-X2) Is the hyperspace resonance crystalline lens another term for Fold Quartz?

Hmm... A Macross Class could that be a hint? We've spent much of late at the core of the galaxy maybe we are going back to Earth. Or maybe a nearby colony with a Macross class. The defunct Macross VFX 3D had a Macross class. Maybe revisiting the concept..

Here is something interesting. This guy Vanchat is mentioned in the first episode selling Chitauri neural link and Akela's episode, he is the guy that killed her team and took her prisoner. If Team Coulson has any leads to Centipede it is this guy.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
RedWolf replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I find it ironic that in the live action movies while Grimlock is a big mechanical alien lizard, Devastator is giant alien mechanical ape. Given the Swoop/Strafe toy the Dinobots have a uniform bot motif. Also taking cues from TFP Beast Hunters Predacons origins it seems.- 950 replies

Battletech Thread: Transforming Mechs
RedWolf replied to RedWolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well thinking about it the Mech mode is a weakness. A LAM can't tank hits like Battlemechs due to its complicated conversion systems. Armor makes it too heavy. Its purpose is recon and hitting behind enemy lines quickly and escape. Which is why LAM companies are assigned to Striker regiments. So its best characteristic is the Air Mech mode and fighter mode. With Air Mech mode jumpjets, hovering and Wing in Ground Effect (WiGE) a LAM can avoid hits.- 21 replies

Just a little history on the Unseen. FASA got their license on several images such as the Valkyrie and Destroids (Macross), mechs from Dougram, and fighters from Crusher Joe from TCI who in turn got their license from Tatsunoko. Who happens to license SDF Macross to Harmony Gold also. Yes what mess Tatsunoko Production made on that. In 1996 Playmates released a Exo-Squad toy that looked like a Mad Cat (Timber Wolf). Of course FASA sued on that. Playmates was ordered by the court to stop using Mad Cat images. It happens Playmates is in bed with Harmony Gold. So FASA voluntarily to avoid potential lawsuits moved that licensed images and out house images would not be used in their publications and board game products. Dubbed Unseen by fans. The classic mechs with exception of the Land Air Mechs got the Project Phoenix treatment where they are drastically redesigned. Later Catalyst third owner of the Battlech franchise managed get license for classic mechs that they got the Reseen treatment. Though they can't use mecha from SDF Macross for Reseen. Land Air Mechs first appeared in Aerotech. The Mech and fighter modes are closer to the VF-1 Valkyries. Though the Air Mech mode is oddly the fighter on top of the torso. Technical Readout 3025 the Land Air Mechs got a bit of distinction from each other in Air Mech modes. The wings are fixed swept wings instead of the variable wing F-14 Tomcat style of the VF-1. Unidentified Unseen Land Air Mechs In 1987 Battleforce (top right), The Succession Wars (below) and Mercernary's Handbook (both top left and below) showed LAMs that are different from Aerotech and TRO: 3025. Legs fold at the center instead going at the back between the lower intakes. Arms connected to the lower intakes. Instead of two wings connected to a fuselage it is a single large wing. Difference the two images is that two are forward swept wings while the other is swept wing. In 1994 Tactical Handbook showed another forward swept wing LAM (top left) similar to the two in Battleforce. Star League LAMs In Technical Readout 3085 the Mark I LAMs were shown. Like the Hammerhands is the precursor to the Unseen Warhammer version the Mark I LAMs were different in appearance predecessors of the 2701 produced Phoenix Hawk LAM, Stinger LAM and Wasp LAM which are now called Mark II's. Not to mention House variants produced during the Succession Wars such as the House Marik PHX-HK2M, Draconis Combine STG-A10, and the Capellan prototype Wasp LAMs (WSP-105M Wasp LAM produced in 3024?). Shadow Hawk LAM and Mark 1 LAMs SHD-HK2 Shadow Hawk LAM The Shadow Hawk LAM was mentioned in TRO 3025 as a precursor to the Phoenix Hawk LAM. In TRO 3085 it is in fact the first LAM attempt. According to TRO 3085 the SHD-HK1 prototype was failure. The SHD-HK2 was better but was not mass produced due to many accidents. Some 20 SHD-HK2's were produced. STG-A1 Stinger LAM Mark 1 The STG-A1 was the first LAM with an intermediate Air Mech mode. WSP-100 Wasp LAM Mark 1 The WSP-100 has the WSP-100A variant according to TRO 3085. Record Sheets 3085 showed a post Mark II variant the WSP-100b. Centuries later the Word of Blake would experiment with Mark I LAMs. The WSP-110 Wasp LAM being a recreation of the WSP-100. Data from it and the PHX-HK1RB Phoenix Hawk LAM would lead to the development of the Spectral LAMs. PHX-HK1 Phoenix Hawk LAM Mark 1 The PHX-HK1 has one variant the PHX-HK1R which replaces the right torso lasers with a PPC, which would be the basis for the Word of Blake PHX-1RB. SCP-X1 Scorpion LAM Like the Shadow Hawk LAM the Scorpion LAM was bondoggle failure attempt. Conversion between Mech and fighter modes are a problem. Its jumpjets are too underpowered. When a reentry atmospheric test was attempted it didn't much fly or fall like a brick it glided and crashed. Centuries later Defiance would find the plans and prototypes buried in Hesperus II. Even they gave up on it. The only bright side is that its suspension system was incorporated to the next generation Scorpion Battlemechs. CPN-1X1 Champion LAM The Champion LAM the heaviest LAM at 65 tons can transform between Mech and fighter. The problem it is not that maneuverable in fighter mode. The prototypes were later stored in New Dallas. The same planet where the New Dallas memory core was discovered leading to Age of War Retrotech being spread. Spectral LAMs Dubbed Spectral LAMs due to similar profile and wing designs to the Spectral Omnifighters of the Word of Blake. These showed up late during the Jihad surprising those they attacked with. Since LAMs were virtually extinct due to the Nova Cats blowing up the last LAM factory in Irece. Once factories in Gibson and Terra were destroyed the LAMs were rendered extinct again. S-PW-1LAM Pwwka S-YR-1LAM Yurei S-WN-2LAM Waneta The Waneta has one variant (S-WN-1LAM) that has replaced its improved jumpjets for bomb space. The Battle of Devil's Tower on Terra depicts a Waneta variant in flight. With LAMs extinct you'd think transforming Mechs are no more right? Clan Hell's Horses according to Field Report Era 3045 and TRO 3045 Clans produced transforming Quad Mech tanks called QuadVees. It has two pilots like the experimental Stinger LAM C and Phoenix Hawk LAM C of Clan Jade Falcon, difference is pilots don't fight each other. It has a driver and gunner. If one pilot is incapacitated or killed one pilot can control it. It sort of makes sense Hell's Horses would make these as don't worship the Mech like other Clans and prefer the combined arms tactics. Though Qudvess did not fare against Jade Falcons. What made this episode great was Franklin Hall being a Well Intentioned Extremist. He has a point that Quinn has to be stopped. As Quinn does not have mentality to be responsible for what he is about to unleash. After New York he puts SHIELD in the same category. In the post-Avengers world but really it began after Iron Man there is a race for Advanced Technology. Various countries tried mimicking Stark's tech. Then New Mexico happened. The countries backing SHIELD wants a deterrent with Tesseract based weapons. Loki upped the ante with the invasion. Now everybody wants a piece of Advanced Technology pie. This is where guys like the Rising Tide, Centipede makers (AIM?) and Quinn come in. They believe in technological progress and they see countries governments and SHIELD as against progress, keeping stuff to their selves. Even that Peruvian commandant in the previous episode sees it that way. Its not that SHIELD suppresses technological progress but they want it it to be really safe and available to all. Which is the point of Fury helping Tony with the Arc tech and him bringing in Erik Selvig into Project Pegasus. They don't want tech blowing up on people's faces or bad guys like Hydra possessing them. Thing is it wasn't just aliens existence was revealed in the Battle of New York but existence of super heroes of different origins. Both Captain America and the Hulk are serum based, Thor is an alien from another dimension, add Tony Stark's technology. Aliens may have armies but humans with the right tools? They can kick ass. So there is an arms race along with the want of Advance Tech proliferation for the advancement of mankind. Tech which is very dangerous if they are not careful.

Franklin Hall is of the MCU Bruce Banner Scientist archetype. He knows this type of power is too dangerous for anybody to handle. He was going to pull the whole self sacrifice thing just to take out Quinn. Though Quinn would've still probably have escaped. Hall pointed out the Tesseract. The event of the invasion of New York with SHIELD messing with it in the first place made Earth a target in his point of view. Though he does not have all the details like Loki is a jerk or Hydra had it once. What Coulson did was cold. In saving himself and his team he just created Graviton's Origin Story.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
RedWolf replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is the scene when Vladivostok is mentioned. A Jaeger graveyard. Behind that are Jaeger models. On either side are a Romeo Blue type and a Gipsy Danger type. Now the middle model is a previously denied Jaeger by Del Toro that showed up in a Mirida Studio commercial, his company. The Kaiju that Romeo Blue beat up in the night vision prologue is a the early Bladehead concept which also showed up as a Kaiju toy in a shelf.- 1206 replies

The lack of knowledge about the Protodevlin incident reminds me of Liza saying Fire Bomber defeating the Protodevlin and asking what is Sound Force interest on the Space Whales. To which Basara respond he didn't defeat anybody and him being on Zola has nothing to do with Sound Force. So there is precedent that the rest of the galaxy has sketchy details on Fire Bomber's adventure. It doesn't surprise me given Max had to investigate the origins of the enemy Valkyries coming to the conclusion that they are based on Varauta VF-14s. What would be the reaction that on UN Spacy HQ's orders the Varauta Research Fleet accidentally unleashed a force that led to the demised the Protoculture civilization in the past and endangered several colonies and emigration fleets. Not to mention potentially endangering all life on entire galaxy. It is a scandal.

Ok been out of the loop for a while. I see we got the spelling for Wilbur Garland's organization from Macross VF-X2, Lactence. Macross The Ride has another group associated with them called FASCES led by a Naresuan which from the bio seems to be a Earth/Protoculture patriot... Sounds like a conservative right winger in terms of Macross. Why is Lactence is still active? What are FASCES objectives?

Having watched two Gokaiger movies with pirated robots is fun. Gokaiger Ghost Ship is 31 minutes of enjoyment. The fight scene between Gokaioh and Nise (Fake) Gokaioh was obviously CGI but the pirate battle on a giant ship is something we wouldn't have in the series. While Gokaiger itself is a crossover series of Super Sentai crossing over with Gavan expands and world build further their universe. For those who have seen episode 51 finale of Gokaiger the cameo of both Doggie Kruger and Signalman reference to the fact they are both Space Police in Super Sentai. Dekaranger being a homage to the Space Sheriff series with their suits teleported from their base. Space Sheriffs receive their combat suites from their fortress ships. Gokaiger vs Gavan introduces Gavan as the greatest Space Sheriff of the Space Police (Uchuu Keisatsu). You are probably wondering why he is a Space Police when in the original trilogy the organization was known as Galactic Union Police (Ginga Renpo Keisatsu). It implies the GUP in the aftermath of Shaider expanded beyond the Milky Way and became known as Space Police. SPD (Special Police Dekaranger) and Signalman Police Kobaan of Planet Police being part of this expanded organization in Gokaiger's continuity. In the Dekaranger tribute Marvelous knows about the Space Police. Of course being an alien he should but his flashback reveals why. Marvelous was kid stowaway in Space Police cruiser (SPD cruiser) that was saved by Gavan when Zangyack attacked the ship he was on. When Gavan goes to arrest the five Gokaiger Ahim protest that the Dekaranger found them innocent as such the Space Police shouldn't be after them. Gavan arrest them and brings them to a stadium where the Space Police Director General Weeval was waiting. (Interesting about his uniform he wears a GUP symbol and an SPD commander buckle) When it became to fishy that the Space Police was working to gain the Zangyack bounty on the Gokaigers Gavan released them and turned on Weeval. Turns out Weeval was Ashrada, a Zangyack spy within the Space Police. Ashrada looks like a mix of Don Horror and Hunter Killer in Gavan. Ashrada is a blood relative of Don Horror. Ashrada reveal the robotic Gavan Bootleg which was created using Space Police and Zangyack technologies. He is programmed with Gavan's fighting style. In any case... Gokaiger escape. Gavan is captured. Marv and company go and save Gavan who is trapped in a Zangyack prison in Makuu Space using the great powers of Battle Fever and Denziman after meeting Gavan's look alikes Battle Kenya and Denzi Blue. They release the Sentai ex-villains along the way. Meanwhile Basco try to grab the Gokai Galleon while the cat is away but stopped by the Go-Busters in a stalemate fight. Gavan is rescued and after realizing who Marv was teams up with the Gokaiger to fight Ashrada and Gavan Bootleg. Gavan finishes off Gavan Bootleg while the Gokaiger defeats Ashrada.. .. Ashrada grows giant plunging the Earth in Makuu space. Gokaiger in Gozyu Gokaioh and Gavan with Dol battle Ashrada. Out of nowhere a portal opens with Machfalcon joining the battle combining with Gozyu Gokaioh into Kanzen Gokaioh. In Makuu Space it turns out Machfalcon won't turn into an Engine cast. Marvelous and Gavan with their mecha attack with a Gavan Dynamic Final Wave combo attack finishing off Ashrada. Later Gavan and Gokaiger meet Battle Kenya and Denzi Blue. Don and Joe give back their keys to them for a one time tripple Kenji Ohba transformation. Which is pretty much like the Space Sheriff Special.

Reading on the Neo Glaug it implies if the Zentradi Variable Glaug were to use its full specs the one piloting it must be a Meltrandi loli. I'm not sure on that implication. On the Queadluun-Alma it seems to be the frame which the Feios was based upon. http://macross.anime.net/wiki/Queadluun-Alma Where the hell did she get Protodevlin parts?!

Not only does a fanboy has a scaled classic Voltron toy but the cadets get a combining support robot of their own made from those trash vehicles called... Awesometron. Sigh~ Dammit... From what I see this robot should be smaller than a robot lion but when compared to Dudley's Voltron replica half the size. I'm just going to brush this off as his Voltron isn't a 1:1 scale. Oh Sven got mentioned with his uniform. Back on Awesometron you just wish the Vehicle Voltron comes back instead of that. Which begs the question how easy it is here to create combiner robots in Voltron Force. Everybody has one. Wade's combiner robot. Lotor's Predator Robeast. Episode 17 Ghost in the Lion Sven Lionjacks Blue Lion.

Which reminds me that in Macross VF-X2 the military industrial complex company like Critical Path Corporation sold weapons to Zentradi rebel group Black Rainbow. Macross Dynamite 7 had the Loschier Company selling VF-17D to criminal groups.

My first thought was a Feios Valkyrie. http://www.macross2....ossga/feios.htm If it does have a fighter mode somebody reverse engineered the Feios Valkyrie much like the the Zentradi Glaug design was taken from Zentradi rebels. Makes me wonder if the Final Weapon has been reversed engineered. It is a combiner made up of three pieces.
