Not exactly Zeon Zum Deikun's Newtype theory without scientific basis at all proposed Newtypes are the next phase of human evolution and thus should lead humanity. In Contolism humanity should leave Earth as they won't evolve without going to space. As seen in future eras that is bullcrap human bodies degenerate being long term in colonies and majority wise not Newtypes. Crossbones manga gives an a perspective Newtype ability is something that primitive humanity had but eventually lost. Back to Macross Earth humans lost their Fold Receptor Factor due to Protoculture interference but given the near extinction event spared bloodlines with the ability would become noticeable like Basara. Also Human-Zentradi hybrids may have potential to have the factor like Mylene and Emilia. Fold Receptor Factor may also account the low level telepathy we've seen in the franchise like Mylene with Gubaba and Zolans with Catsnakes. In any case the NUN has seen the tactical advantage of gathering those with the factor to deal with Out of Context threats like the Protodevlin, the Vajra and now with the Var syndrome.- 299 replies

That is similar to Zeon Zum Deikun on his Newtype theory in Gundam. The Protoculture may have seen those with the ability as weapons like in Gundam where Newtypes are associated with ace pilots. We do know a group of Protoculture known as Anima Spiritia defeated the Protodevlin and sealed them.- 299 replies

http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/MCRworldguide/02ABirdman.php The idea is similar to how the Protodevlin/Evil Series regenerate but instead of draining negative Spiritia the pilot provides the necessary Song Energy for the Bird Human to regenerate. Also Yurva Arga in Macross 30 to fully operate needed Song Energy from the kidnapped songstresses. The Mayan religion worship the Protoculcha. It is impossible to maintain that belief for 10,000 years but the memory is encoded in their genes. Thus puts to question when did humanity lose its Fold Receptor Factor? When the Survey ship visited Earth and left or when the Bird Human arrived?- 299 replies

While Sara Nome did demonstrate powers that Basara (regenerative) and the Knights(Newtype sense of aggression) have Macross Chronicle states that Humans's Space-Time Resonance or Fold Receptor Factor is ideal for Bird Human maintenance. The majority of humans don't have that power due to genetic nerfing of the Protoculture unless awakened through continued exposure like what happened with Macross 7 fleet. So Humans were built to fix these high spec units but not necessarily use it themselves as more likely than not Humans can be fold wave transmitters than receivers. Something that Windermereans both have it seems. Also of note the Protoculture programs genetic memory into their subject races. In DYRL Zentradi have a genetic memory of culture, Macross 7 had fear of the Protodevlin. Mayans have genetic memory of Protoculture culture.- 299 replies

Depends. I suspect Windermere has its own Protoculture ruins as a source of Fold Quartz. Leon Mishima and Macross Galaxy had their own agendas of taking over the galaxy using the stuff. Lactence also used it for itself and tested their jamming weapon with terrorists. Remember 8 years before there was a galaxy wide invasion using Vajra. In any case xenophobia and difference in culture is what is driving this conflict. Windermere is still stuck on a feudalistic culture. That and according to Keith they are running out of time... Time for what? I'm positing the theory that maybe Windermere is on the verge of ecological collapse and that is what is driving these attacks. To prideful to ask for help and the colonizable planets already taken. Windermere may not have the industrial capacity to challenge the NUN thus turning to asymmetrical warfare. The Var syndrome can also be classified as a form of mind control. Walkure and other singers like them are an obstacle to that.- 299 replies

Given the premise of Macross Delta decentralizing could be in consideration also for races joining their federation of sorts. If I was an alien why would I take orders from a central government on a planet that is on the other side of the galaxy? I think the War for Independence of Windermere after between 2059 and 2067 if Freyja's home burning is a clue. Seems the xenophobes there took power.- 299 replies

From what I gather Macross Galaxy never had UN Spacy but a private army. Everybody else good ol' UN Spacy. When decentralization happened the organization was still called UN Spacy... Then the whole Lactence thing happened leading to what was essentially a UN Spacy civil war over Earth. Rumors has it Vindirance leader Maria Fokina Barnrose was Therese Jenius and Max was a supporter. Lactence didn't like the change in status so it did a complicated plan selling weapons to terrorists so colonies will call Earth for help. Given what happened since the new UN was now the New UN a name change for UN Spacy was appropriate. New UN Spacy. Odd thing about Galaxy fleet besides the MGCA and their unique fleet composition is that Galaxy left Eden in 2031. And it is called NMC-21 when it left the same year as Macross 1. Which makes me think it didn't get a Battle class till later. Macross 7 left Earth in 2037, Frontier left Earth in 2041. Oh Macross Galaxy had a connection to Manfred Brando who built the Fold Quartz equipped Sound Jamming system used by Lactence and he also funded 117th Research Fleet that studied the Vajra. Which presents a question in my mind. Was Macross Galaxy involved with Windermere given the Aerial Knights are using cutting edge VFs with cockpit holography and heavy quantum beam gun? That and the one who sings the Var song has Fold Quartz around her. On another note Roid said Heinz health is not good. We learned in Macross 7 there are different types of Spiritia and Basara was emitting positive Fold Waves with his song. What are the effects of negative Song Energy Fold Waves on others and the singer?- 299 replies

In an interview Shoji Kawamori emphasized that corporations can be nations. Macross Frontier and Macross Galaxy were invested by corporations. General Galaxy for Galaxy, Richard Bilrer for Frontier. Both had PMCs. Difference is Frontier SMS had only one ship contracted to support NUNS, Macross Galaxy Corporate Army was the entire escort fleet. When the laws changed MGCA called itself NUNS when they were not UN Spacy like everybody else was.- 299 replies

Thinking about it Chaos could be a PMC or private army for Barrette City emigration fleet in the same sense Macross Galaxy Corporate Army was for Macross Galaxy. Macross Elysion is not exactly a Battle class but given it's legs it is possible to connect to a City class docking port.- 299 replies

Going over the design of Macross Elysion it is an odd mix of the Macross Quarter for the upper body and shoulders, Macross class at the crotch, and Battle class for the legs. The ARMDs though totally new.- 299 replies

Which makes me wonder if traumatized humanity and Zentradi developed an Earthman's Burden over fellow Sub-Protoculture races. Handing over Overtechlogy and having their fleets defend these worlds. For example Ouroboros' entire native population disappeared with only one known survivor. Decentralization makes sense if you are giving these races a voice in your Federation. We do know there are reactionaries on Earth's side. Lactence was a pro-Earth supremacist group that had Humans, Zentradi and Zolans in it. Naresuan leader of Fasces and member of Lactence was not only pro-Earth but saw Earth's culture as the second coming of the Protoculture. So he'd like all races to unify under Earth. Richard Bilrer transport mogul also wanted to unify what he call the Children of the Protoculture by cutting travel time and communication lags using Fold Quartz. Todo from Macross 30 was racked with guilt over the genocide of the Human race that he wanted to change history. But as Leon pointed out if that didn't happen they wouldn't have an interstellar civilization.- 299 replies

The later and it seems the NUN has found a number of Sub-Protoculture races at the Outer Rim. Note according to Egan Loo's Macross Chronology there were Protoculture remnants at the edge of the galaxy. In MD7 Zola was located at the Rim. While the Galaxy Treaty forbids invasion of planets with intelligent life it doesn't mean you can't offer a tech uplift for that race to join in. In Windermere and Ragna's case they allowed colonist to migrate to their planets. Windermere though had a revolution for independence seceding from the NUN which led to policies of banning interstellar travel for Windermerean citizens and crack downs on Earth culture. Windermereans Ragnan Unidentified races. Fin ear girl at the left. A Catgirl.- 299 replies

Interesting theory on why some Winderemereans hate Earth culture. Humans were engineered to be powerful fold wave transmitters, hybrids also have this potential as shown with Emilia and Mylene, as seen with the Vajra they can't normally communicate with Humans as they are not receivers. Windermereans Fold Receptor Factor is based on their Runes, organs that can transmit and receive fold waves or Space-Time Resonance energy. In short Humans are loud uncultured primitives to them.- 299 replies

The NUN is more of a Federation now a days with granting fleets and planets sovereignty. Between a monarchy and knights it isn't farfetched that Windermere practices feudalism. Which could be the reason why the revolution and independence war started. Nobles were losing power to this joint government with aliens that insist human rights and democracy,- 299 replies

The heel of Elysion does resemble that of a Battle class. That is like saying our entire planet looks like the Antarctic. They have apple exports remember. The Quarter class is modular composed of five ships. We've seen variants from Macross 17 and Macross 23 in Wings of Goodbye. The Macross Quarter there cosmetically looks different with different armaments.- 299 replies

The planet where the Milky Doll's taken was Elysium. UN anandoned that planet as it had a freaking Main Fleet ship buried. Well it seems the verbatim of the Galaxy Treaty on that refers to invading planets. Note the new UN got its fresh start by being a joint government between Humans and Zentradi. Macross Chronicle mentions it is hard to find Earth-like Class A planets and some fleets had to resort to terraforming like Sephira or Eden 3. So I can see some fleets offering an uplift package if a planet joins the NUN. To me it sounds like the Meiji Restoration with the Kingdom of Wind going Tokugawa isolationism and Imperial Japan route at the same time in the present. They are testing NUNS resolve as well as countermeasures they have for the Var syndrome. The Kingdom of Wind must realize that on a straight fight they'd lose to the NUN. NUNS have too much military potential to be ignored.- 299 replies

You'd have to wonder if the Protoculture liked cats. Zola has marsupial cats, Ragna has Seacats and whatever planet that Catgirl comes from. While the Galaxy Treaty forbids invasion of intelligent species planets the NUN doesn't have it seems a Non-Interference Prime Directive. Spreading Humanity's culture wherever it'd be. Windermere seems to be a backlash at that going semi-isolationist. Given the current setup with the NUN being a EU like government respecting sovereignty there should be no conflict. However for some reason the Kingdom of Wind is resorting to terrorist attacks. Motivations is not clear yet. However they must realize their planetary forces can't stand against a combined fleet like the one we saw in Wings of Goodbye.- 299 replies
