    Reading the Macross Extra wikipedia entry it is a surprise that Elma Hoily from Macross Dynamite 7 makes a cameo here. Elma is a Chaos biologist consultant. in Macross F novelization she had a successful music career. I'll chalk it up to Lawrence's influence. She'd be 27 years old in 2062.

Interestingly in Macross Plus Planet Banepal has coal mines. Fold Ore or Fold Coal is likely mined and processed into higher purity Fold Carbon for Overtechnology. I agree with Seto that the likely reason why Galactic Whales are hunted by poachers and sold to the black market is that they have higher quality Fold Carbon in their bodies.

    Fold Carbon or Fold Coal has been attributed from ECA to Fold Drives. It is wonder material that is core to Overtechnology. Walkure's bras and shoes have them too. Vajra also have them in their bodies along with Fold Quartz. Vajra drones mine Fold Ore or Fold Coal from asteroids with the Vajra Queen processing them into Fold Quartz. Fold Carbon is a black crystalline carbon-like material that has Heavy Quantum. 99% of its mass is in subspace. What make Fold Quartz different is that it has Super Heavy Quantum state and it resonates zero lag time Fold Waves. According to Macross Chronicle Chiba studied under Mao Nome. After the war Mao Nome researched about songs and the Protoculture. Whether she is Lady M we don't know as it is presumed to have perished in the Vajra attack on Global. In any case Berger's theories on Lady M don't jell well. One he said lady M started a study on songs after Space War 1. On the other she debuted right after Ragna received a possible transmission from Megaroad-1.

    I do have to wonder. This is two factions in two consecutive series that didn't get peace nor defeated utterly. Is it possible that in a future Macross sequel they are setting up an Anti-NUN alliance with Macross Galaxy and Windermere? Out there theory. The Protoculture faction that created the ruins, Sigur Valens, and Star Shrine became the Marduk. The lines appearing on Mikumo are sort of like those that appear on Emulators such as Ishtar.

    The war hasn't ended. Much like Imperial Japan Heinz will only negotiate peace from a position of strength. After what Windermere did the galaxy would declare them enemy of all humanity alongside Macross Galaxy. Robbing people of their free will makes you enemy of everybody. Thing is with their fleet much destroyed and being abandoned by Epsilon they are at a precarious position. The NUN won't let them have the Sigur Valens as it proves to be too dangerous. Heinz himself doesn't have much to live for. I can see with these dangers and being enslaved themselves a Windermerean civil war could be inevitable. The Kingdom of Wind lied to to the Windermerean people and has brought war twice to it. Not to mention their economy is ruined.

    No spoiler tags? That's different. Roid is Grace 2.0 with his Hivemind scheme. Mikumo brainwashes the cluster with Do You Remember Love... In Protoculture. Note: If you are not Lynn Minmay don't sing that song as those who sung it other than her don't go right. Mylene makes some Meltrans go berserk. Ranka Galaxy hologram mind controls the Vajra. Mikumo controls Sub-Protoculture races. No evidence it goes beyond the cluster as no Earth or Eden. To emphasize that Windy's are like Vajra drones their Drakens turn white. Having been betrayed Heinz works with the enemy... For now. Not that he can do anything as he is trapped like everybody else. Roid's plan gets ruined thanks to Freyja's determination and the three way teenage confessions going around. Keith joins Delta squad in taking down Roid as they rescue Mikumo who has been unbrainwashed. I know Kawamori always wanted a sword wielding VF but he finally did it with the SV-262Hs Draken. Keith kills Roid with his sword but is engulfed with him in the following explosion. In the war over? Not really as Heinz the, little crap, still wants to continue it. They just retreat back to Windermere as the cluster is freed during the fight from mind control. Turns out grandpa cat leader was right. Wait for them to die to out. Heinz doesn't have long. Keith is gone. No line of succession. Heinz can't sell mind control anymore to Windermere's people as they've experienced it. Using it means civil war. Windermere doesn't have the industrial capacity to conquer the galaxy. Epsilon probably said goodbye to them with a thank you note for the data. Also super fold drives negate their Fold Fault protection. I'm sure surrounding planets will start buying them for protection and maybe payback. Oh Mariane is alive and so is Scarcat. Hayate and Freyja fly off in a cramp cockpit as Mirage watches from below.

    General speculation is that Aegis is a clone of Roy. He may not have the habit of being drunk while piloting but he is certainly a womanizer dating all the bridge bunnies.

    U.N. Forces From Macross Compendium UNAF U.N. Air Force UNN U.N. Navy UNS U.N. Spacy UNSAF U.N. Space Air Force UNSM U.N. Space Marines The only on screen appearance of UN Army is Macross Plus but the word for Army and Forces is pretty much the same "Gun". In Macross the Ride NUNS Marines were piloting the Defender and Super Defenders. As for the Marines Macross Zero had marines aboard the Asuka II. They have a professional rivalry with the Air Force as seen with Shin's ass getting handed to him.

    Actually going by Macross Plus the UN Army is the UN Forces. UN Forces was split between UN Spacy (Space Army), UN Air Force, UN Space Air Force, UN Navy, UN Space Marines and UN Marines. Going by Isamu's record the Air Force and Navy were still around. Now with NUNS (New UN Spacy/Forces/Army) they still have a Space Marine Corps as of Frontier and the Ride however they don't seem to fly VFs but are using Destroids and modernized Zentradi mecha.

    Macross the Ride also has one. However this one is customized with a piano system. Concepts in the manga about music does somewhat support Berger's theory.

    Check the dialogue again Mikumo never mentioned Fold Quartz but Fold Receptors.

    You mean Roid. With Heinz dying his plans wont work. He keeps asking who the hell is Mikumo to be able to destroy the Protoculture structures. The chamber provides the answer, the Star Singer. Given her genetic memory Mikumo is likely cloned from a Protoculture Star Singer. Which means she has greater admin rights to the system than Heinz. With Mikumo infiltrating Windermere Roid has her where he wants. .

    Going by the fifth chapter Black Wings of the White Knight the right to harvest their own Fold Quartz is the reason why Windermere had an independence war in the first place. The so called Unequal Treaty. On the NUN's side it is understandable. They don't want the proliferation of Fold Quartz to turn to a MDE arms race. On Windermere's side they can't progress beyond an agricultural economy due to the Fold Fault surrounding their planet.

    You know its funny that Windermereans use birds and feathers as iconography while Voldorians use cats. This episode shows while Windermereans have greater physical strength and senses but the Voldorians are still predators who are on top of their planet's food chain.

Protoculture Fold Quartz based Fold Systems can generate a two way Fold gate from the origin to the target destination. This is different from the explanation in Macross Chronicle where the Fold drive generates a warp bubble in Fold Space.
