  1. Gundam started in 1979 afaik, so it's much older than Macross.
  2. wow, I hope the new 1/60 line gets a stealth ver 1 valk as well
  3. True that unposed pics have as much use as unposed ones IMO. I appreciate the pic profiles you've done So 19th is tomorrow here in Asia I hope some of the graces flow over to other countries tomorrow
  4. If ever the 1/48s continue, I'm guessing it'll be for VF-1's strictly. The other valks would be too big and too costly. The YF-21's about the same height as a 1/48 and that already costs a bundle. How much would that cost if it's upscaled to 1/48? besides, the 1/60 is big enough as it is, I'll find a 1/48 YF-21 uncomfortably large.
  5. I'm currently waiting for the new 1/60 Ver 2 VF-1S it'll be my second valk And though I plan to support the new 1/60 Ver 2's, there are those in the 1/60 Ver 1's that I find worth getting. The next one I'll be buying would be the VF-1J Hikaru with GBP. It's a good buy for me as I'll be able to get it from a friend for about $75, and since I'll display it with the GBP Armor, I won't have issues with the transformation. The other two I'll bet from the old Ver 1's are the VE-1 Elientseeker since I'll be displaying it strictly in fighter mode only since AFAIK these valks were rarely used in battroid mode, and the VT-1 Super Ostrich as I'll display it strictly in gerwalk mode. The only bummer I have with the Ver 1 is that I heard that the pilots that came with them are all amputees. Are there customizations that can get around with this?
  6. Scale matters to me as well. Shame that VF-1's are smaller than the rest (even against their predecessors, the VF-0!) but that's the way they were designed so I'll accept that and wouldn't compensate with a 1/48. Besides, the new 1/60 VF-1's are cheaper than the 1/48 so it won't break my bank that much yet
  7. WOW! please provide us pics of the other modes great job
  8. Thanks guys and now I'm truly addicted to Macross I'm now in the process of writing an obituary for my wallet
  9. I just bought my first Valk this weekend. I couldn't wait till July 19,and a local specialty store here had a sale that I simply couldn't pass up It was the YF-21 I love all three modes of the valk Hehe so my vote goes to the YF-21 Still, if I could fast-forward time to the 19th, I'll do it in a heartbeat
  10. Question: does this have a pilot figure? I didn't see one in the review.
  11. I'll be passing up on Hikaru VF-1A. I'd like to get a Hikaru VF1-J instead.
  12. I'd be getting both as well, but Ozma's first I'm a sucker for leader/s versions
  13. @ Golden Arms & Scream Man: Thanks guys I'll look for that so, that's fixable right?
  14. The Macross Frontier is a great series And, yeah, personally I find the VF-1 as the best-looking valk in all Macross. Then again, it may have to do with the fact that I grew up with the VF-1's
  15. hi, everyone. I planned to get the YF-19 after getting the new 1/60 VF-1s. I read on this thread that the YF-19 has a lot of QC issues? is this true? I don't think I've seen any YF-19 bundle packs here, just the standalone versions So I'm at the mercy of the QC of the YF-19
  16. @ jenius and Vegas Valkyrie: Ah, thanks I agree, having side covers do make the toys look better. Do the GBPs for the 1/60 scale have them as well? hehe, seems this will bemy first order of business whe I get my valk as well
  17. Hi, all. I'm a total noob when it comes to Macross toys, I've never handled one, and my first ever valk would be this 1/60 V2. With that, I really don't know what a side cover is. Why's it such a big deal? could someone post a pic of a side cover and how it looks when attached to a valk? Thanks
  18. I don't have a valk yet and I was actually thinking of owning only one Macross figure since I really collect Optimus Primes. I researched thoroughly and rewatched the SDF Macross Saga and I thought that the best valk to own if you'll only be gunning for one would be Yamato's 1/48 VF-1S Roy Fokker (either the regular of the weathered edition) with Super and Strike Parts. Along with Hikky's VF-1J, this is the most iconic of the series which, even after Fokker's death, saw action all throughout. I was actually about to buy one until I saw the upcoming 1/60 V2 with FAST Packs included. The FAST packs for the 1/48 are hard to come by lately in my country, then after watching Macross Frontier and looking at the 1/60 Bandai VF-25's, I've decided to go with the 1/60 V2's Hehe so to answer the poll, you want only one figure? Go for the 1/48 VF-1S Fokker with FAST Packs. Want to collect valks? Go for the new 1/60 line. It's cheaper and goes in scale with many other valk figures.
