Godzilla replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Whew. Good thing I bought mine in October 2004. -
I really need to stop checking this thread out... now I need to go get this month's maxim...
-
Yeah, tell me about it.

Wouldn't the heat shield need to be bigger? Also, as much as I want the kit to be pre-colored for VF-1D colors, I would like to make the Virgin Road valk (Max and Millia wedding valk.) I hope there are head kits conversion as well if the VE-1 and VT-1 kits are to be made.
-
... wait a sec...
-
I really do not want to hear this. I am still waiting for the 2-seaters, GBP, 1/60 monster, and the YF-19 FP
-
PUT ME DOWN For the 2 seaters! Hence why I have 65 valks.

$150 for preorder from Big Bad Toy Store.

Oh so this is from a video game. Ah, I see.

I can only identify the VB-6 (Obviously) Vf-19, YF-21, VF-19, VF-1 but I dunno about the 2 others in the air. Kinda hard to identify. I wanna say VF-4 and VF-11 but I am not so sure.

Hey, here's a idea on how to stop a planned third atomic bombing. Just totally off the top of my head. Surrender! Like they should have the first two times. Well the plot hook seems interesting. I love speculative history. But in a way, it seems like this is one of the few ways Japan can "win" in a WWII movie and a Japanese viewer might be satisfied-- to suggest that Japan's forces might somehow have prevented even greater suffering and tragedy by their heroic actions. But seriously... there's a way they could have done just that. I refer you the vaguely plausible solution above. It's not like the US was dropping A-bombs for their own good humor. And Japanese popular media seems to have forgotten that a decade long war starting in Manchuria wasn't all about two thermonuclear explosions. For what it's worth, I just ran into some sources on the net that cite that from declassifed WWII documents, Japan was working on and implementing their own A-bomb. No idea, if it's really true. I doubt they would have practiced any more restraint than the U.S. had. At any rate, to be completely fair, supposedly Japanese diplomats had been attempting surrender, though not unconditional, with the issue of contention being retaining the rule of the Emperor. There were Japanese military leaders determined to hold out and fight a decisive battle, however. But you gotta admit... even three days after Hiroshima, Japan's government hadn't come to a consensus of unconditional surrender. What part of thermouclear explosion do you not understand? -Al I really dont think the Japanese gov't knew the extent of the damage of Hiroshima. Yeah, yeah, I know an area flattened to hell is kinda hard to notice but you have to remember the explosion did knock out communications. They couldn't have figured it out that quickly. Or did they gamble the US didnt have another one to use? If the movie is about the 3rd atomic bomb, didnt Japan Surrendered immediately after the 2nd dropping of the bomb? Yeah, I know Japanese forces didnt get the communications but if the sub commander received orders to stop a 3rd bomb, did they already surrender after the 2nd bomb so why stop it if you surrendered? I mean the Allies was going to use the 3rd one just to cruel unless it was intent of the movie. As for the Japanese media, you are right but you also forget to mention the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor as well. I would like to see one Japanese movie or anime shed the light to everyone why the A-bomb was dropped and how Japan started it. I am sick of tired of Japanese portraying themselves as as the victims and portraying Americans as the aggressors. I seem to remember that movie Pearl Harbor received a less than favorable opening when it was released in Japan.

Ok, you will hear different sorts info from everyone. I asked this question a while back when I bravely started on my custom: Blue Angels. Anyways, I used enamel paint because it doesnt chip when you transform. Now I posted a while back that paint removal that is best is Brasso. But you need to scrub. I use it on the heat shield. Most parts need to be repainted though. The red is easily off but it smears. The black will never come off. If you are painting over, use the primer coat first them paint. Best to use the airbrush for painting. I used cans except the blue for TV Max VF-1A. I painted it and it looked ok.

Bugs Bunny and Friends. The NEXT Generation?

I think the target demographics for BLT is much younger than this new toon, which I assume is intended for the same age group that they think would watch the classic stuff. BLT is the kind of saccharine bilge targeted at pre-schoolers to pre-indoctrinate them into the PC "offend no one, unless they're Christians", emotions driven group-think that passes for education in public schools. For a much better example of a Looney Toons derivative done well just check out "Tiny Toon Adventures" If that is so, targeting younger viewers, that new Bugs would give me nightmares man if I was that young. I think you misunderstood me. I stated that "Baby Looney Toons" (BLT) was targeted at the sand-box set. This new cartoon is most likely aimed at pre-teens to late-teens. Still would give me nightmare as a pre-teen. -
-Iran -China Both have a great deal of diversity in their aircraft. both in capabilities and abundance. Flankers, Tomcats, MiGs, (other) Sukhois, even Phantoms and Tigers... I'm sure the list goes on. Both air forces are well maintained and armed. Iran's Tomcats are maintained? Are you sure? Last I heard it was not.

You are talking about China right? China with one of the worse human rights record. You know the China that massacred those students at Tiananmen Square in 1989. The same China that said only a few hundred students died to the world and said there was no massacre despite it being shown on live TV around the world? Yeah right NBC not a valid option for China. You are think any sane govt will not use NBC. China is not remotely close in that category. As I said, China has 2 options, invade or destroy the support centers of Japan. That means naval resupply bases and airfields. And I am certainly not going to throw nuclear weapons out because I think China wil be afraid of some repercussions such as world sentiment. The Tiananmen square Massacre should give you clear indications that China is not afraid of world opinion. What did the world do after that? Protested and that was the extent. By who? Japan has no nuclear weapons. United States? How sure are you that US will launch nuclear strikes? Somoa, Midway, and other US territories are within China's striking distance. Hawaii and Alaska would be the extent that China could "touch" the US. If Japan and the US has a treaty like NATO where one nation is nuked by communist bloc countries, Allies will respond in kind, sure. But policies have been known to change. And right now US Forces are stretched as is in Afghanistan and Iraq. You think US will help Japan secure those islands? The real question to be is the US willing to become the nuclear forces for Japan? History already prove you wrong countless times. Ok, let me explain the details. I said for both sides it will not be profitable. I am sure US, French, Russia, etc, will profit to some degree because everyone will buying arms for companies who makes them. But let's look at the Markets: When the US went to Iraq in 2003, markets went south. Markets are gonna dive. Look at US strikes in Afghanistan, markets got depressed. See any profit sharing? Yes, I am sure we will see profits in recovery after the war. But nowadays war is uncertainty and uncertainty is what markets do not like. This is not like WW2 where the US geared for war in its industry. These days there doesnt need to be "geared" for war because of smart weapons and advanced weaponry.

Why? So you can "see" my valk collection? I already posted the 65 valk mess. Thinking I am going to give away samples? Let me reiterate my last statement: Now if you want to come over and help me setup some dioramas, I got no problems with it.

Yes I ordered 4. 1 for me and 3 for friends. I am now tempted to buy another one so I can add the gatling gun attachment.
