It seems that Roy has been sacrified to make the 1S Max and 1 A Kakizaki. 1A Max Body+ 1S Roy head => 1S Max And with the part left 1 S Body + 1A Head => 1A kakizaki Rip brave hero. That is exactly how I will I am doing this except I am using vf-1s Hikaru head

Well I've always been a vocal supporter of the black heatshield in the great "what should the 1S heatshield be" debate. I know Yamato or whoever came up with the shadow reasoning..hence the red heatshield with the Yamato Hikaru 1S. But it is still a personal preference to have it black. As far as the coloring of the heatshield..well some break fluid and lots and lots of rubbing away of paint. Be careful though if you do it this way, those little tabs are fragile. And here are some pics of Kakizaki in Battroid mode My camera really makes the green look bad. Oh, and I have a confession..the green head arrow isn't painted on. It's cut from green electrical tape. Which is almost a dead match oddly enough. Thanks. I don't know you what to do at this point... I need to think about this...

Ok, I see the Hikaru VF-1S has a black heatshield as well as Max's VF-1S. Why did you do that? Not criticizing, but I am doing my customs as well. And how in the world did you make the Kakizaki shield? Can you show me Kakizaki's VF-1A in Battloid mode?

It's safe to say at this point you could do either. Whichever you think would look better on the custom. It's been said it's supposed to be blue, and then you see it black in the animation, go figure. I personally like the argument that Roy's heatshield was black because White on Yellow doesn't show very well. At all. Hikaru and Max didn't have that problem, so they went ahead and used their colors. Ok, I just need to get a VF-1S head and some paint to match it. I am getting prolly a VF-1S Hikaru and steal the head. Then I will make that VF as a Kakizaki DRYL. My problem is how to make that heat shield green.

I dunno if I want to get this. What really sucks is that Toynami is the only game in town. I am debating in getting this. Toynami pissed me off with the Rick MPC.

It would have been inconsistent because the heat shield of Hikaru VF-1S is red. Why he has that and max wouldnt get his blue? The reason why I am asking is because I am doing preliminary research before I decide to make custom. I can see roy getting black b/c it is cnsistent throughout the movie (until his death) and in the TV series.

I was thinking of doing that. I am seeking advice as well but I see you got no replys. Actually I was going to take VF-1S head and paint as a max and attach it to the Max VF-1A. Then make a VF-1S body w/ max head into kakizaki vf-1a. Anybody?

Holy crap! I thought my 12 was a lot. Well, i sold most of my 1/60s except for MISB TRU CF and vf-1a max, and the opened DRYL valks. I have 3 1/48s opened and the rest are MISB. Getting more 1/48s to do some customization though. Of course with 7 more valks I have preordered when the M&Ms come out. I know the feeling. I thought I would get the low vis and the M&Ms but crap... ever since I got back into macross in Sept 2003, my acquistion of 1/48 sky rocketed. Could you believe I had no 1/48 prior to Sept 2003? Now I got 12 in a period of 6 months... I dont want to think about the money I spent...

On this board, it wouldn't surprise me if some folks won't accept anything less than a 1/48 scale Monster. For me, even 1/60 is way too big. I'm happy with my paper Monster model that's about HO scale. That is still almost a foot tall and a foot and a half long. 1/48 monster?!?!?! I dont think I can fit that SOB on my shelves. I use to want it but after realizing how big that thing is, 1/60 is just fine. I am trying to figure how the heck am I going to build a 1/48 SDF-1 TV version. I am not sure my garage can hold it.

Too bad Yamato wouldnt make a 20th anniversary. I would suggesta limited edition vf-4 but who the hell am I kidding. We will not see that plan as a toy.

I was reading the inserts from Animego SDF Macross and found something interesting. According to the inserts, they never referred to the reactive weapons as nuclear weapons because in Japan, they believe that the goods guys should never use nuclear weapons. Is that true? I am assuming the reason why is because Japan was the receiving end of the a-bomb in WW2?

You know what? I wouldnt be surprised if DRYL MPCs came out. At least they have Hayao Kakizaki VF. Strange that there is no Max VF. I wonder if Yamato will make Hayao Kakizaki. Now a better question is: Will I buy them? HELL NO! I bought the MPCs and the armor. I also have the 1/48 and 1/60 Yamato. I should have stopped buying the MPCs after Rick but I didnt want to have take off the legs for transformation. At the time I didnt really know what I wanted. Until I bought a low vis VF-1A in August. I think that was when I said detail was important and perfect transformation. I sold my extra MPCs and refuse to buy anything by HG or toynami. The Alphas are a big maybe. I do not want to be disappointed again. Quality and price are what gets my blood boiling. Frankly I will go way outta my way to avoid Toynami and HG.
